(Sam's P.O.V)

Taurtis, Grian, and I were walking to class. Today, Taurtis seemed to be acting normal again. We all took are seats as Mrs. Okami did role call.

(Little Time Skippy~)

"Okay, good morning class, I hope you all remembered your homework," Half the class groaned.

"Let's start with... Sam," Mrs. Okami pointed to me.

I walked to the front of the class with my short story in hand. I turned and looked at my classmates. Taurtis gave me a thumbs up.

"Umm... My story is called Smiles," I began.

"Do you see that girl with the bright smile, she's afraid to go home today. Do you see that boy who cracks jokes all the time, his mom died and now he's in foster care. Smiles are deceiving. Smiles are easy to fake. And the more you do it, the better you get. Just because someone can smile, doesn't mean their fine. When someone says, 'I'm fine.' They could really mean, 'I'm dying inside.' So the next time I smile wide and tell you 'I'm fine.' Could you do me a favor, and hold me tight."

The whole class applauded.

"Very good job Sam. You may sit back down now," Mrs. Okami said.

After the rest of the students went up, the bell rang. Everyone else was already sitting down when I walked up to the table. I saw that Taurtis had his arm around Anastasia.

"Taurtis, are you sure you're alright?" Yuki gave him a concerned look.

I sat down next to Taurtis. I looked at his eyes again to see them turn from green back to brown. He smiled at me, taking his arm off Anastasia.

"Hey Sam. Your short story was really good," He said.

"Thanks," I smiled back.

I saw Anastasia scowl at me before putting a smile back on her face.

"Taurtis, I guess I'll see you later. You're gonna walk me home after to school again, right," She batted her eyes at him.

"Umm... Sure, I guess," He shrugged.

And with that she walked off to another table.

"You walked her home yesterday?" Yuki asked.

"Yah, she said she didn't really know her way around and that she needed a guide," Taurtis answered.

"And she still needs a guide," Grian raised an eyebrow.

"Give her some slack, it's only her second day here," Taurtis said.

"Whatever dude, it's your call," J said.

~RING!RING!~

"Looks like it's time for gym," I said.

"Let's go," Taurtis grabbed my hand and pulled me along behind him.

I blushed a little. Maybe, just maybe, I can still have a chance with him.
