Chapter 2: I wish...

Scotch's 17th birthday had rolled around, and her party was pretty big. She had invited friends from school, as well as Mirage's relatives and their friends. The ghost had a zombie for a little brother, named Decay and nicknamed D-D, and a vampire for a little sister, named Alina.

Scotch, being a demigoddess, had a god and a goddess as her parents. They kept the universe's balance of life and death in check in a way, her parents being Repair (her mother,) and Damage (her father, whom she gets the blind eye from). She also had a little brother, named Match, who was in a relationship with Mirage's little brother. Yes, they were 11, but they were both amazing lovers to the other.

Lionel and Chris (Mirage's parents) had four friends, one of which had a sister with a genderfluid lover, typically identifying as non-binary. They were born female, but wasn't seen often since they lived with their girlfriend in Bremerhaven, Germany. The couple, however, decided to visit for a while.

Scotch whined a bit when she couldn't find Mirage, since she had her party in an arcade, and went up to a silver-haired man talking with a woman looking nearly identical to him.

"Alex, Lamia, have either of you seen Mirage?"

The two shook their heads before going back to talking. When spotting a boyish-looking woman, Scotch's hopes got up a bit again.

"Hida, have you seen Mirage?"

"Nein, try the, uh...The dancing game."

Scotch nodded, going over to the Dance Dance Revolution console and giggling when she saw Mirage taunting her little brother, his messy white hair bouncing as he jumped around on the arrow pads.

"D-D, you're gonna make your loose eye fall out."

"Am not!"

The boy's eye then popped out from under his eyepatch, Mirage letting out a "told you so" with a smirk.

"Shut up!"

The birthday girl then got Mirage's attention without attracting that of Decay's, leaving the games and hiding in a quiet back area.

"So what's this about, Scotch?"

"I...I have a confession to make..."

"What, you kept a secret from me?"

"I...I-I...Nevermind, I forgot what I was gonna say..."

Mirage nodded and happily left, Scotch following with a fake smile.

"Alright, time to sing happy birthday~!" Chris' friend, Scarlet, chimed. Her elven girlfriend, Ivy, had an arm around her lover's waist with a smile.

"Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday, dear Scotch! Happy birthday to you!" the group sang, the now 17-year-old blowing out her candles after closing her eyes briefly. As Alex's friend-nearing-lover, Mickey, cut up the cake, Mirage sat next to Scotch.

"So, what'd you wish for?"

For you to kiss me like there's no tomorrow, Scotch thought to herself. "Ah, I can't tell. It won't come true if I do."

Mirage giggled. "Fine, but just so you know, I hope your wish comes true!"

The white-haired girl blushed a bit as she pushed her glasses up. She didn't really need them, since her mother could repair her eyesight with ease, but she enjoyed wearing them anyway.

"You wanna go play some games? I'll pay as my little treat, dude."

Scotch giggled a bit and nodded, both girls saying "after cake, of course" in unison and laughing at how alike they think.
