Chapter 8
Blayne's POV
I carry Haley to my car and put her in the front seat. I quickly get into the car and drive away like a mad man. Haley is shaking and seems out of it. What am I going to do with this girl?
"Why did you do that?" She hisses.
"Do what save? Save you? You should be thanking me"
"I didn't need to be save. I'm not some princess or damsel in distress that needs a knight in shining armor."
"Well guess what, Princess. You did need to be saved. They were calling the cops on you. Did you want to end up in jail?"
"Maybe," She whispers in a voice that can barely be heard.
"What?" I question while giving her a weird look.
"Nothing."
"So, what happened in there? You lost all control. I've never seen you like that before."
"It doesn't matter. Just take me back to Kyle's so I can get my car." She hisses.
"No! You're drunk. Where do you live? I'll drop you off at your house tonight and you can pick your car up tomorrow."
"No! Just drop me off here and I'll walk." She says with a panic voice.
"I'm not letting you walk home in the middle of the night. Do you know what can happen to you?
"I can take care of myself." She says and then mumbles something else that I can't understand.
"If you really don't want me to take you home then you can stay at my place." She's now looking at me like I've grown a second head. "It's your choice, Haley."
"Fine." She huffs. "I'll stay at your place until I'm sober enough to drive myself home." She says in defeat.
"Of course, you will Princess." I can't help but smirk while I call her that.
"Don't call me Princess." She spat.
We drive in silence rest of the way to my house. As we pull into the garage, she turns to me and ask, "Why are we at Kyle's? I thought you said we were going to your place."
"This is my place." I tell her. "It's also Kyle, Alex, Dylan and Jared's place too. We all live together."
"And your parents don't care?"
"It's hard for them to care when they're dead."
"I'm so sorry Blayne. I-I didn't know." She whispers.
"It was a long time ago, and I don't need your pity." I growl at her.
"I wasn't trying to pity you, you ass. You're not the only one who has problems."
"I didn't say that you don't have problems. I just don't want your pity. What about your parents anyways? Won't they be worried when you don't come home tonight?"
"No." She says with a shaky voice. "They were killed when I was twelve."
Fuck! I screwed the conversation up with her.
"Look I'm sorry, Haley. My parents are a tough conversation for me, and I..." but she cuts me off before I can finish my sentence.
"I don't need your pity either, Blayne."
I park the car and we sit in silence for a few minutes in the car before getting out and heading into the house. Her hair is now in a pony tail, and when she walks by me to enter the house, I can fully see her tattoo. It's a name. Mason.
Haley's POV
I enter Blayne's house after he unlocks the door. For five guys living here, it's really clean. I'm curious on how they can afford this place, but it's not my place to pry. Blayne shows me to one of the spare bedrooms upstairs that I can sleep in tonight. He also brings me one of his shirts for me to sleep in.
"Thanks." I tell him as he leaves the room.
"What for?" He says with a puzzled face.
"For getting me out of the party before thing got really bad."
"No problem, Princess."
Rolling my eyes, "Ugh. Don't call me Princess."
"Hey, I had to rescue you. So now I get to call you princess." He says chuckling to himself. "If you need anything else, I'm across the hall." He says as closes my door.
This boy infuriates me. I get myself ready for bed and change into his shirt. It smells amazing! Nope. Nope. Nope. Haley don't think like that. Don't smell his shirt. I lay down on the king size bed. It is the most comfortable bed I've ever been in. I'm actually happy he's letting me stay the night here although I'll never admit it out loud. It's been a long time since I have been able to say I have slept in safe, clean place. The motel I've been staying at is nasty, and I know there's a lot of illegal stuff going on there. Hopefully next weekend at the fight I will be able to make enough money to find a better place to live.
I try to fall asleep, but all I can do is think about the events that had happen over the past few hours. Why was I so stupid to drink? I knew it was going to get me in trouble. I ended up fighting Brittany, her minions and two guys. And then there was Blayne. Why did he help me? I mean, he could have let the cops arrest me. I thought he hated me? Maybe he doesn't. I think I've been kind of hard on him. He lost both of his parents and I that can change a person. The world can be a cruel place. And what's with him calling me princess? I've always hated when guys give a girl a pet names like that, but at the same time, a very, very small part of me likes it. I would never admit that out loud either though. With that thought I finally fell asleep.
Blayne's POV
I'm sitting downstairs watching TV waiting for the guys to get home. I can't even focus on the TV because all I can think about is Haley. I have so many questions I want to ask her, but I doubt she would answer any of them. Like... How was she able to take those guys down? If her parents are dead, where does she live? Who is Mason? And what did she mean when she said she had nothing left to lose? I come back to reality when the guys enter the house.
"Why the fuck did you leave me, man?" Kyle says through gritted teeth.
"I left with Haley, after one of Brittany's minions called the cops on her. Where were you?"
"I was upstairs with some chick." He said with a satisfied look on his face.
"What about the three of you? Where did y'all go?" I say while looking at Alex, Dylan and Jared.
"We went to another party that was a few streets down." Dylan says.
"What happen to Haley?" Alex asks with concern.
"Brittany was starting shit with her. Haley fought Brittany and her minions. She also took down two guys who were holding down so Brittany could slap her."
"Fuck man!" Jared says. "Is she okay?"
"I don't know. She lost all control, and then started saying shit like she had nothing left to lose."
"Did you at least make sure she made it home okay?" Kyle ask this time.
"Actually, she's here."
"What?" All four of my friends say at once.
"I tried to take her home, but she refused to give me her address. "She wanted to drive herself home and I couldn't let her drive with how much she had drank. You all know how I feel about driving drunk." Someone driving drunk is what killed my parents away from me.
They all agreed that it was for the best that she stayed here tonight. We talked a little more before we all headed to bed. With all of the questions spinning around in my head, it took me a while to fall asleep. When I did fall asleep, I was thinking of Haley.
Screams from someone sounding like they were being hurt woke me up from my sleep. I immediately recognized the voice...Haley. I ran to here room with the guys trailing behind me.
"Stop! Please don't do this! Please don't touch me! Stop! Someone help me." She cries out.
She was alone in her room, but she was still screaming and crying. She was having a nightmare.
"Haley, Haley wake up!"
"Please don't do this to me. You're hurting me!" She continues to scream and cry.
"Haley. It's me Blayne. Please wake up Princess" I beg. "It's just a nightmare."
By the time she wakes up, she is drenched in sweat. She is shaking uncontrollably and still crying. She looks at us and whispers, "I-I can't b-be he-here." She then runs past us, down the stairs and out the front door to her car. Before any of us realized what happened, she was gone.
"What the hell just happened?" Dylan says staring at me. Still in a partial sleep state.
"I have no fucking clue." Shaking my head as I stare at my friends. "Now what do we do?"
