This is supposed to be the first story in the Royal, Ent. series. I began writing it after Love Follows The Rain but had to put it aside when I began writing I Hope Love Is... If you've been reading IHLI, then you probably already know whose story this is. :P

And if you've been reading the other stories, then you know I have this tendency to write them around songs/MVs from particular artists. This one was inspired by Jaejoong's "I Will Protect You" from the drama Protect The Boss where he played the second lead guy, Cha Mu-won.

Jaejoong as a person fascinates me. Not only does he look like a shoujo manga hero-- and was actually once called "Hero"-- his life sounds like that of one too. Adopted at an early age, becoming an idol at 17, then getting stuck in a custody battle when biological parents decided they wanted him back (in a time when being adopted is kind of a taint in Korea). Being the oldest member and front man of one of Korea's most famous idol groups, and yet declining to be its leader because he doesn't feel like he's suited to the job. His legendary clumsiness (and heo-dangness, at times), his philosophical/poetic bent on Twitter, his reputation for working hard. Breaking away from the group and daring to be among the very few idols who actually contested their contracts. Going on to form another group and release his own solo album. And so on. 

It makes me want to know what makes him tick, what's going on in his mind, how all this stuff is affecting him, how he's really bearing up under all of this. Is he like a shoujo manga hero too, inside where it counts? I'd like to think that Seo Jae-seung is.
