chapter 6

After Jane left Carlos.
Jane ran to a secluded corner where she knew no one was going to see her.

"Desperate time calls for desperate measures." She said as she turned into her fairy self. Barely being an inch tall.

Then she flew to her dorm which took her lesser time than if she walked.

Transforming back as soon as she was in front of the door, she knocked softly before going in.

Lonnie was sitting on the floor, her back leaned against the bed frame. She had a blank expression on like she was in some sort of trance.

"Lonnie..." Jane called softly.

Lonnie's head shot up to Jane's direction.

"Jane? I'm so sorry for ruining your date." Lonnie said as she started sobbing again.

"No, no, no, you didn't ruin anything." Jane said gently.

"Yes I did. I'm sure a terrible person. I called you even if I knew you were on your date. I'm so selfish." Lonnie said.

"No you are not. I'm glad that you called." Jane said.

"You are? Why?" Lonnie asked.

"Yes I am. It makes me realize that you trust me. That you know I'll always be there for you." Jane said.

Lonnie gave her a small smile.

Jane sat beside her not really saying anything just letting Lonnie know she was ready to listen.

After a while in silence, Lonnie finally spoke up.

"Jay found out about me and Sean Lee." Lonnie said.

"What? But how?" Jane asked.

"He made me tell him. He took me to the utility closet and said he wasn't going to let me out until I talked. I got mad and so I told him what happened." Lonnie said.

"The entire truth?" Jane asked.

"No just what he did to me. And then I let out all my frustration at him and now I feel bad because he was just trying to help." Lonnie said slightly sobbing.

"No, Lonnie you had every right to snap at him. You don't invade a person's privacy like that." Jane said getting angry herself.

Suddenly there was a knock on their door.

"Lonnie, it's me Jay. Please open up. I gotta talk to you." Jay said from outside the door.

"He just won't give up." Lonnie said a bit annoyed.

"We'll see about that." Jane said as she opened the door.

"What do you want?" Jane asked harshly as she opened the door but not wide enough for Jay to be able to see inside the room.

"Jane you're here." Jay said.

"Of course I am. This is my room." Jane said not letting go of her hostile attitude.

"Okay well I need to speak to Lonnie. Please." Jay said.

"No you don't need to do anything. You don't disrespect someone's privacy like that. You've hurt her in a way you can't imagine. So I suggest you leave before I lose it." Jane said in a menacing tone, her eyes turned bright blue for a second making Jay think he imagined it, before she slammed the door.

"Wasn't that a bit rude?" Lonnie asked.

"Yeah.... I do feel bad for doing it but someone had to tell him off." Jane said.

"Lonnie...." Jay's voice called from outside the door.

"Really!?" Jane exclaimed.

"Well to be honest, you aren't all that intimidating. I mean look at you, you're adorable." Lonnie said.

"Look Lonnie, I know I screwed up and I'm sorry. I really am. I just wanted to let you know that I feel like a douche and that you have every right to be mad at me." Jay said waiting for a reply.

After a while of silence he spoke again.

"Okay. I'll respect your privacy. Just know that I'm here for you whenever you are ready to talk. I got you." Jay said.

Jane would have been "aww"ing if she wasn't so mad at Jay at the moment.

Lonnie on the other hand was conflicted.

Part of her wanted to opened the door and embrace Jay. The bigger part of her wanted to stay put.

After a while, Jay left Lonnie's door feeling 4% better.

"He's such a good friend. I don't know why I keep pushing him away." Lonnie said to Jane.

"Don't worry. Everything will be alright. You'll figure it out. I'm here if you need anything at all, whether I'm on a date or not." Jane said.

"Thanks Jane. You know, Jay is the only person who can actually help with the situation." Lonnie said.

"What are you saying?" Jane asked.

"I want to let him help me." Lonnie said.

"Are you sure? That'd mean you will tell him everything." Jane said.

"Yeah I know. What do you think?" Lonnie asked.

"Well if it's gonna help, go for it. But do you trust him to do this?" Jane asked.

"More than anything." Lonnie replied.

"Well then, what are you waiting for? Text him." Jane said.

"Hey. Can we talk?" Lonnie texted Jay.

She wasn't expecting a reply so fast.

"Sure. Where do you want us to meet?" Jay texted back.

"My room. If you want." Lonnie texted.

"Be there in a sec." Jay texted back.
