-Chapter 5-
(Song to listen to whilst reading:
Human- Christina Perri)
Opening her eyes slowly, Amy was met by a bright white light. She was in a hospital room, or what looked like it (it was probably inside the TARDIS). She squinted and looked to the side, seeing a tall, gangly man hunched over a railing facing away from her. He was crying.
"Never... I will never forgive myself for leaving her with that monster... Why didn't I take her straight away? Stupid...Stupid!" she heard him sob to himself. The TARDIS let out a noise.
"No, I can't. Don't you see, old girl? She's only human. My life is too dangerous for her to be a part of. I love her too much, I can't see her die because of me. I love that girl more than anything," he placed his face in his hands. "It's better this way. I'll drop her off in her old house in Leadworth, she'll be with her family. Rory won't be a problem to her, and she'll never have to see me again-" he said, his voice breaking.
"No, Doctor-" Amy croaked, a barely audible whisper. He spun round quickly and in that instant Amy's heart broke. His cheeks were streaked with tears, his nose was clearly been bleeding, his cheek had a gash in it and he had a black eye. His eyes, those foggy, old eyes that had seen hundreds die...
"Amelia! My Amelia! You're..you're okay-" he gasped in relief, running over and planting a kiss on her forehead. One hand stroked her beautiful, ginger hair whilst the other cradled her face. He stared deeply into her beautiful eyes, seeing all the pain she had felt those days. His tears fell yet again.
"I am so, so sorry, Amy...I will never, ever leave you, eve-" Amy put a finger to his lips, silencing him.
"Don't you dare apologize, Doctor. Don't.You. Dare!" she groaned, beginning to cry herself.
"Hey..." he softly said, lifting her chin with his finger. That made her smile.
She was so beautiful. He took in her every feature. Her entrancing eyes, her perfect nose, her beautiful hair. She was absolutely magnificent. How anyone could harm such a divine, caring creature like her left him flabbergasted. He wanted to kiss her so badly, he wanted to restore her happiness.
She slowly brought her lips to his, sitting up from the hospital bed and holding onto his neck for dear life whilst he bent down to meet her. Their lips connected, and for once, Amy felt truly loved. For once, she knew she had nothing to fear.
"Amy..." the Doctor sighed, pulling his lips away.
"Doctor?" Amy replied, inhaling deeply as she braced herself for rejection. It didn't come...
Instead, she felt his soft lips on hers again, for longer this time. They both pulled away and giggled.
"Do you need anything? Want anything? I stocked up on Jammy Dodgers, we could have a picnic if you like!" The Doctor said giddily. Amy giggled at his childish enthusiasm, kissing his cheek tenderly.
"A picnic sounds absolutely perfect, Doctor," Amy replied, lifting her legs off the bed and groaning as she felt a pain shoot through her.
"Oi, take it easy, Pond. I'll bring the picnic to you, shall I? Not exactly the most romantic of places, but it'll do," the Doctor said lovingly.
"Or...you could carry me...?" Amy astutely replied, a smirk on her lips.
"If you request it, my lady!" he laughed, picking Amy up bridal style as she squeled.
"Doctor! Put me down!" she giggled.
"Not a chance," he replied, kissing her cheek and walking off with her in his arms.
