Maya's POV

Suddenly there was a commotion inside the hall. Many of our guests started walking towards one man who held his woman securely in his arms.

His smoky black eyes caught mine.

I wanted to look away but his eyes held so much dominance that I didn't even have it in me to ignore his piercing gaze.

His eyes roamed over my body as I drank in his appearance. The perfectly tailored dark blue tux looked royally elegant on this sexy man. He had finished his outfit with a rich black tie, making the color of his eyes stand out. His hair was styled in a bedroom look. How can a man look so professionally dressed, yet sexy!? I internally groaned. A bolt of electricity ran through my body. He was making me super nervous and I didn't like it one bit. It was evident that he was shocked seeing me dressed up in something other than saree.

Katherine whispered something in his ear which grabbed his attention from me. She was dressed in a baby pink cocktail dress. There was a truckload of makeup on her face yet she looked beautiful. Just the way he liked.

"Maya!" I was suddenly embraced in bone crushing hug by Rishi, startling me.

"Uh...Rish! God! You scared me!"

"Geez! I'm fine!" He taunted which earned a laugh from me.

He rolled his eyes "How have you been?" He exclaimed in happiness

"Better than ever" I grinned, taking a second to register the changes of the man standing in front of me.

He was a few inches taller to me. His brown eyes and defined jaws can make any girl drop her panties. He has grown a lot of muscles in the past two years. The forest green tux that he was dressed in made his muscles more prominent. Any girl would give away her life to be with a man like Rishi. But I still wonder why he was single!

"The decor is amazing, Maya!" he cheered.

"Really? I was really nervous, you know! It's been long since I took up such responsibilities!" I said with a frown

"Don't worry Maya! It's perfect! It's blue and filled with life! Anyone who knows you can say that this event's preparations were taken up by you!"

Yes. The theme was blue and crème. It evoked life in the entire room. This color had a lot of bad memories attached, but I couldn't help but choose this color.

"Thank you, Rish!" I smiled gratefully for his encouraging words and he side hugged me, placing a soft kiss on my temple. And did I say? He was such a protective big brother when it came to me! We were of the same age but he was just a few months elder to me. He was always a sweet brother that I yearned for. Rishi also filled up my missing place in the office when I was at Delhi. He also worked at Sharp and Measure. He supported dad when I wasn't in a position to do so. I was indebted to him for all that he has done for me.

His eyes went to the direction where Arjun and Katherine were standing and conversing with other guests. I could read hatred for Arjun in Rishi's eyes. Though he doesn't know the reason for my divorce, Rishi always felt that Arjun was the one who hurt me that caused the divorce. He hated Arjun to his guts.

Before I could see Arjun, Rishi broke in "Shall we grab a drink?"

"Sure!" I nodded as he pulled me to the bar.

I don't drink! Like ever! I hated the way alcohol tasted, in any form.

I ordered a lemon cheesecake drink and Rishi went in for a cocktail. Just when I was about to have a sip of it, a loud shrill voice interrupted me.

"Finally, we meet!"

"Ria!" I gasped

"Hey shorty" Rishi greeted Ria which made Ria hit Rishi playfully on his shoulders.

"You are freakishly tall and I can't help that" she retorted and hugged him.

"Are you feeling well?" He asked her.

She looked sick. She was taking too much stress. She was dressed in a red designer saree. She was never a makeup person, so it only revealed her worsening dark circles and skinny figure. Why was she treating her body so badly? I wanted to hit Varun for not feeding my friend properly!

She came out of his embrace "I'm fine, alright! I am not leaving you all any time soon!" her words suddenly hit a nerve in me. Why was she saying such words? But she quickly covered it up by laughing. It wasn't a hearty laugh.

"Are you sure?" I asked

"Of course,Maya! Now shut up and give me a hug" she beamed in happiness and pulled me into a warm hug.

"You've got a lot of explaining to do" she whispered in my ears when she hugged me. I knew it! This Varun wouldn't have his mouth shut!

"What if I say the same for you?" I asked. She didn't utter a single word about the crises that she was undergoing. Still half of it was a mystery to me. I deserve an explanation, don't I?

"What are you ladies talking about?" Rishi asked in confusion and I quickly came out of the hug.

"You won't believe! Maya is auditing Arjun's company again!" She said with a goofy smile plastered on her face. This woman! I wanted to roll my eyes. She always felt that, I would get back with Arjun. She has this stupid belief in some old sparks stuffs. I know it was stupidity being personified!

"Maya! Are you crazy?" Rishi fumed.

I was the one stuck between the two. And their degrees of liking for Arjun were poles apart.

A slight headache already nagged me.

"Guys! Please! I really don't want to talk about it now!" I said and I sipped on my drink.

"Alright! But we're talking about this soon" I heard Rishi's voice ordering me which made me nervous.

Soon everyone had arrived. The charity auction went on well after dad's mind blowing speech towards the success of Sharp and Measure and its twenty eighth anniversaries.

After two whole years, it was really nice to meet my grandparents, uncles and aunts who also had a major part in the success of Sharp and Measure.

We were now seated for our dinner with all the important clients of our firm along with my parents and I. Arjun was seated opposite to me with Katherine by his side, happily munching her salad.

The food didn't enter my system. I was feeling super edgy because of Arjun's constant gaze on me. Why was he staring at me like this? I was becoming very conscious about my state.

He slipped in a slice of apple in his mouth. He slowly teased the next slice along his soft lips and bit it. It was such an erotic sight to look at.

Just then, an announcement for the dance was made by the Dj.

Dad got up from his seat and held his hand out to mom "May I have the pleasure to dance with my beautiful wife?"

My mom blushed a deep crimson. It made me aww. Even after so many years of marriage, mom was blushing.

"You know I can't dance" I heard my mom slowly whisper to my dad as she took his waiting hand.

"What am I here for?" He replied and kissed her on her cheek.

They joined the other couples on the dance floor. I couldn't take my eyes of my parents. They were like teenagers in love.

Soon my eyes caught Ria and Varun on the dance floor as well, dancing to the slow tune.

In not more than few seconds, Arjun and Katherine also joined.

All were having a real good time. I was in a moment of self-pity, when Rishi brought me back to reality.

"You can always dance with me!" He mused, taking my hand. Did I look that desperate?

We hit the dance floor as well. Rishi made me laugh so much with his funny talks that my stomach hurt. I didn't laugh like this for a while and it felt good

Our partners switched in a few minutes. When a stranger was about to take me for a dance, Arjun bet him there and took me in his arms.

"Arj-"

"Shh! We don't want a scene here, do we?" He pointed out, which made me silent instantly.

He smirked at my surrender. His strong arm grasped me tightly by my waist against his body as our fingers interlocked. My breasts softly crashed against his hard chest. Sparks shot through my body. My heart skipped several beats.

We moved slowly in sync with the music. His spicy cinnamon cologne was such a turn on. "Why are you doing this?" I hissed under my breath, not trusting my voice.

"Can't I have a dance with the most beautiful woman of today's evening?"

I literally stepped on his foot when he said those words. He was the same man who called me trash. It looked like we needed to dust his rusty brain.

"You're calling me beautiful?"

"Yes, sweetheart"

This man had some nerves. Does he remember that he was married to Katherine? What would she think about me? I turned around to search for Katherine and she was dancing with another man.

The headache that was nagging me was now hitting me hard.

"Now this trash is looking really beautiful to you!" I snorted.

I could sense him clenching his jaw. But he quickly covered it up with a smirk.

"I really did underestimate your beauty" he said and pressed a kiss on the nape of my neck.

The feeling of his soft lips made me close my eyes for a moment. I felt really little in his arms. His large frame was towering me and I felt vulnerable.

His lips moved to my hair and he slowly inhaled a deep breath "Now I understand why I found apples so erotic" I felt my body heating up, listening to his words.

His hands slowly moved over my ass and his long fingers made its way under the material of my dress. I was helpless in his arms. His fingers slid over my bare thigh and pulled me tightly against his chest.

A strong desire stirred in me. This man was seducing me in public.

"What...what are you doing?" I stuttered through my messed up breathing.

"Ravishing the beautiful woman in my arms" he said

"You're married, Arjun! You can't do this" I accused and his fingers suddenly stopped in its track and he gave me an amused look.

"I'm not married, sweetheart" his deep voice rumbled in his chest.

But the ring on Katherine's finger, it was the same as mine. How could I be wrong? What about Rohan? So they weren't married but they had a child together!

"Is there anything else that is going to stop me from fucking you tonight?"

"You disgust me, Arjun!" I sneered, pushing him hard by his chest and stormed to the washroom.

This man! He thought that his touches would weaken me? Why was he behaving like this all of a sudden? For a man who spares no chance of humiliating me, his behavior today was really weird.

My head started spinning. I was having a pounding headache. Why was I having such a terrible head ache? I splashed water on face, hoping that it would make me feel better. It did no good!

I barged out of the washroom unsteadily only to crash against a hard chest.

"Maya!" I heard Arjun's deep voice. But his voice was so feeble. It was echoing in my head.

I caught my head in both my hands, thinking that it would stop my head from spinning.

"Are you alright?" I heard his faint voice again. My vision started to blur and I passed out.

The next morning I woke up in a snug and cozy bed. I still felt a little light headed. I pulled the comforter from my body to hop out of the bed and realized I was naked beneath it.

I never go to bed naked, except...

I quickly turned to the other side of the bed and found Arjun sleeping next to me in his naked glory.

Heyaa!! So, here it is! Now what did Arjun do to Maya again? Keep guessing!
