Maya's POV

"It's me" he said, removing his hand which was preventing me from shouting.

"Arjun?" I gasped

"Shut up" he commanded under his breath.

"Excuse me!" I raised my voice, pushing him away by his chest.

He looked slightly taken aback but he quickly recovered and twisted my hand behind me and pulled me against his hard chest

"How dare you?" He fumed.

"Are you crazy? Let go off me!" I almost shouted now, still struggling to get freed from his strong grip.

"Why should I?" He asked

"Because you are hurting me" I pointed out the obvious.

He laughed at what I told. I didn't say anything funny!

"I am going to shout for Ajay now" I threatened him.

"Do you think he is going to give a shit about you?" He asked

"Of course!" I said, but I was beginning to doubt that with the way Ajay behaved when I told him about my divorce

He laughed and now it was a pure laugh of mockery "even after knowing that you're adopted?" He asked

Don't cry! I kept telling myself.

"What the fucking hell is your problem, Arjun?" I felt my voice shaking already.

His features softened for a just a millisecond or maybe it was just a delusion! He doesn't have a heart on the first place!

"You" he bawled

"Then, why are you stalking me! Just leave me alone! I was nothing but trash to you and you threw me away! I didn't beg you to take me back! You followed me to the restaurant and now to the washroom! It doesn't make any freaking sense for you to stalk me if I were your problem" I felt relieved of having all those words out of me.

"Stalking you?" He laughed, amused at what I told.

"Yes and don't you try to refuse that!"

"Let me clear you of your misunderstanding! You yourself knew that you were just trash to me! Why would I stalk someone who meant nothing to me?" He explained

"Get lost, Arjun!" I tried wiggling out his strong grip but he still wasn't allowing me to go.

"This is my last warning, Arjun! Let me go!" I said, trying to have my voice stable.

"I won't let you go! What will you do? Call for Ajay?" He challenged

"I wouldn't hesitate to knee you" My words earned a smirk from him.

"I doubt if you are that strong, sweetheart!" His hot breath fanned over my neck.

"Let me go or else I would have to show you how strong I am" I said

"You wouldn't do any damage to me and I know it" he said and I closed my eyes in defeat. Even I knew what he said was true. What I said were just words. I wouldn't even dream of hurting him.

"Just out of the respect that I have for woman, I wanted to let you know of who your dear date Ajay actually is" he said and pulled me out of the dark and made me peek towards the direction of our table. Ajay was missing from the table.

"There" Arjun said, pointing at a secluded area of the restaurant where Ajay was seated with a girl on top and she was straddling him. I looked at them for a few more seconds and realized that she was literally dry humping him.

"Looks like your date got to know that you were adopted"

Ajay's actions didn't hurt me as much as Arjun's words hurt me. His words stung me.

"He is just another man whore like you" I snickered and walked out of the restaurant after grabbing my wallet from the table.

What Ajay did didn't bother me even one bit because we weren't even on a date. It was just a friendly dinner. But he was yet another sickening man in my life.

Just as I called for a cab, I heard Ajay calling out for me. I turned to look at him. His neatly gelled hair was now dishelved. His crisp white shirt was wrinkled and his face was red with embarrassment. He better be.

"I didn't want to intrude your moment with her" I explained quickly, breaking the wall of awkwardness.

"I am really sorry, Maya! She is my girlfriend and I couldn't keep my hands to myself when I saw her at the restaurant" He smiled sheepishly. Wow! That was big news! I judged him all wrong!

Bad move, Maya!

"Oh! I mean, that is amazing! Does uncle Karan know about her?" I asked.

"Not really! But I am going to tell him very soon" he said and just then my cab arrived.

"I am really happy to know this, Ajay! I got to go now! We will meet later" I said and he suddenly pulled me into a warm hug, completely catching me off guard. I hugged him back and just then Arjun and Katherine were exiting the restaurant. Arjun's eyes caught mine. He wrapped his arm around Katherine's waist and pulled her to his side.

Why does that affect me so much? Some sort of a weird feeling stirred in me, but I quickly pushed it away. Arjun smiled at me triumphantly, knowing that it affected me.

Just when I pulled out from the hug, Ajay quickly pecked my cheeks. That was completely unanticipated. My eyes still didn't leave Arjun's. His mere gaze held so much of control and sway that I can never shun away from. But, now his gaze was making me anxious because he was looking at me with so much of...disgust?

I quickly opened the cab's door and got into my cab.

"See ya!" I waved and Ajay smiled

"Take care! And text me when you get home! I managed to put my number into your phone" he said, surprising me yet again. This man was full of surprises!

The day ended well for all I care!

The next morning was bright and sunny. I felt unusually happy and all myself today. I dressed up quickly and after my usual cup of coffee and a toast for my breakfast, I headed to the office.

I entered the office and the room was filled with whispers and shocks. What was going on?

I quickly used the service elevator to go to my cabin. I stepped into the cabin and just as I closed it behind me, the door was pushed open with a loud thud, startling me.

"God! Arjun! You frightened me!" I breathed a sigh of relief.

"So! You did use the proposal as your revenge!" He sneered.

"What are you saying?" I was genuinely confused

"For how much did you sell the proposal?"

"Are you crazy? Why would I do that?" I questioned

"For revenge! You told me that yourself!"

"I don't understand a single word you are saying!" I understood that he was talking about the proposal which I had designed yesterday. The meeting should have been held at the early hours of the morning as per his schedule. Other than that, I didn't have any other idea about what he was talking.

"The competitors proposed a penny lesser than us and they bagged the deal! It is not possible for anyone to propose just a rupee lesser unless they knew what we were going to propose!" He elaborated

"It can be a co-incidence! Why are you blaming me for this?"

"Playing smart!" He scoffed "Maya! I told you not to fucking mess with this proposal and you did the exact same thing!" He raged in anger.

"Arjun, stop blaming me for something I didn't do!" I shouted back. Just then the proposal papers which were on the table caught my eyes!

Shit!

I totally forgot to put the papers into the locker! How could I be so careless! Someone must have seen it and leaked it to the competitors in exchange of money. Now Arjun was blaming me for it! But I had no other go! The fault was mine! I should have put it in the locker!

He sighed "you maintained your end of the deal and now let me return the favor!"

"What do you mean?"

"You will get to know in a few hours!"

"Arjun, Sharp and measure?" I asked doubtfully ,hoping he says No.. Because, that was how he threatened me, to have Sharp and Measure closed!

"Yes darling" he smirked.

"Please! No! I didn't sell the proposal! Please trust me!" Tears started to blur my eyes. I couldn't let anything happen to Sharp and Measure. It would break my family. It would break mom!

"Do you have any idea how important this deal was to me? Do you have any idea how this would affect our goodwill?"

"I'm sorry! But please trust me! I didn't sell it! "

"Trust you?" Sarcasm dripped in his voice

"I am going to have your parents' practicing license cancelled and Sharp and measure closed"

I stood rooted to the ground, completely astound

"Pl... Please don't do any such thing! I...I will make good all the loss that you suffered" I stuttered

"Do you know what amount of money we are talking about?"

"How much?" I swallowed nervously

"Hundred million"

I sucked in a sharp breath.

"I will do anything that you want me to do! But please don't do anything to my parents or Sharp and Measure! It will break them!" I begged.

"Are you sure?"

"You have my word" I promised in a heartbeat

"Work as my maid"

Heyaa!! So my amazing angels, what do you think? How many of you saw this coming? Will Maya accept to work as his maid or slap him hard?

And just a small spoiler, Ajay is not going to leave Maya's life this soon!

The story has just started to take a pace! Consider this as a warning guys! This is not going to be the usual,plain, smooth ,cliched love story! If you are looking for normal cliched books, this is not the book that you're looking for !This book will have a lot of unimaginable twists, pain, heartbreaks, love, tears and of course a lot of hot romance ;)
