5 years later...

"Mom stop embarrassing me"says 15 year old Katie Smith.
"I'm so sorry it's just that every year I miss you so much"replied her mother. Katie lived alone with her mother in a rundown apartment. Hey couldn't afford to live in a house and the rest of their family lived to far away from them. Katie's mom worked in a nearby diner for 17 hours a day with only one break. Katie's mother loved very much and wished that she could give Katie a better life than she has now.
"Don't worry mom I'll send you an owl every day, and if not every other day" Katie reassured her mother. "You better... Ooooo I love you so much, have fun at school this year and be good"
"I will, love you to mom" and with that Katie boarded the Hogwarts Express

Katie walked through the train looking for her friends. Where are they? Katie thought to herself. She kept looking and while deep in thought about where they might be she ran into him. "Sorry, I was looking or my friends and wasn't watching where I was go-"
"It's fine, it happens" He said
"Ok cool, well I'm Katie Smith ... Um most people call me Kate" she replied awkwardly
"Nice to meet you, I'm Harry... Harry Potter, well I gotta go see you around Kate" He said while getting up to leave. Katie watched him leave memorized by his messy jet black hair and emerald green eyes. " Omg, Kate we've been looking everywhere for you!" Says a voice behind her. Katie turned around to find Sophia standing behind her with her boyfriend George Weasley and his twin Fred. Both boys have red hair and lots of freckles on their face. Honestly they were both very immature idiots that always got into trouble. Katie Knows that Sophia could do so much better but never says anything because she can tell the George really loves Sophia.
" O sorry, I was looking for you guys but then I ran into someone" Katie replied while picking up her stuff.
"Who did you run into?" Sophia asked. "O just some guy named... Harry Potter"
"Did you say Harry, he's Ron's best friend" Fred replied
"O I didn't know that... Whatever lets go find a compartment " Katie said pushing away the conversation
Who was is that boy and if he's Ron's best friend how come I've never seen him before? Katie thought to herself.
The rest of the trip to Hogwarts was boring nobody talked much. Mainly because Sophia and George were snogging in the corner, which made everything awkward for Fred and Katie. "Hey how's your business going" Katie asks Fred to break the awkward silence
         "Good but George has been busy this summer, so it's been just me... We haven't gotten many sales but once at school I think..." Fred keeps talking about how business has been but Katie stop paying attention she couldn't stop thinking about Harry... What he might be doing, where he is, and who's he's talking to. soon  enough with all of her thinking Katie falls into a deep deep slumber.
