My name is Nobara Tokiwa and I am not special in any sort of way. I haven't ever had any friends and I don't stand out. I look like a piece of bubblegum; I have light periwinkle hair with bubblegum pink eyes. I always laugh to show my happiness and I always cry to show my lonliness. I am not afraid of anything, except people. I just want to have friends and this is the story of some that I made.

It was only a few months ago that I was alone.

Then a ship pulled into the harbor. It had a skull with a straw hat on it.

"Pirates!" Someone yelled. The entire village was thrown into a frenzy. It wouldn't have been the first time I was taken by pirates...

"Nobara Tokiwa, get back here!" The grown man who took me from my home yelled. He had wanted to protect me since he stole me, and honestly I was quite afraid of what would happen to me when I got older and more mature... He grabbed my arm and dragged me onto his ship. I saw a boy with black hair and a straw hat. He yelled something to a rather attractive blonde boy and he stretched all the way to our ship! I stared in amazement as he fought against this awful pirate crew. He looked down at me. He lunged at me with his arm stretching and wrapping around my waist and hurling me into the air. I stared down in horror as the ground rushed up at me.

I almost hit the ground when that strangely attractive blonde broke my fall. I was afraid he would attack me too so I scrambled away from him.

"P-please don't hurt me, sir!" He got closer to me, close enough for me to smell his cigarette and he whispered, "I don't think I possibly could..." and got up to help the boy with the hat. I also saw a man with green hair and three swords, a red-headed woman with a weather stick, a strange man with a slingshot, a reindeer-person thing, and a lady with black hair that could grown hands. I stared in amazement as they used their talents to destroy the evil man that took me away from my family after burning my village and killing my people. After completely decimating the crew, I saw the boy with the straw hat walk towards me.

"AND WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?!" He yelled in my face. I shrank back against the wall and teared up a bit.

"I-I am Nobara T-Tokiwa..." I held my hands up in front of my face when he bent down lower.I pulled my knees to my chest and just wanted them to leave me alone. The townsfolk were still hiding in their homes and places of work. I just hoped that they wouldn't kill me. I could feel all their eyes on me, some filled with untrust and others with a hatred. Even the blonde.

"Well, you know what your crew did to our ship?" said the green-haired one, unsheathing one of his three swords. I shook my head and began to cry. I put my head on my knees.

"P-please... just leave me a-alone! I don't w-want any trouble!" I said desperately. I could feel almost all of them looking down on me with disgust.

"Coward..." said the one with a straw hat. I could feel them advancing upon me. I didn't know what to do.

"Plant plant, Growth!" I screamed and suddenly vines sprung up out of the ground and created a shield around me, growing up higher and lifting me into the air. I could hear some of them gasping and the sound of people breaking the vines trying to get me out. I could somehow feel them back away as I began to cry.

My mother and father used to tell me that when I cried, I sounded beautifully bitter; like the death of an angel.

Of course, they were my parents.

It was their job to take care of me and make me feel confident. Still, I could feel them receding, putting away their weapons. I made a small opening and peered through the opening. They looked a bit confused and they looked at me with pity. I slowly felt the plants growing toward the ground. I stepped out gingerly. The reindeer thingy came up to me and I flinched and took a step back. He walked up to me and put out his, er, hoof and said, "Hi, my name is Chopper Tony Tony! And yours?"

And that was the beginning of my friendship with the Straw Hat Pirate Crew.
