Chapter 1- Forgotten

Writer~San: AYYY- I'm just kidding. Lol, Go ahead. (owo ")
.
.
(~Your POV~)

'How did I get here?'

I don't know.

'Why's it so dark?'

I don't know.

'Where am I?'

I don't know.

. . .

I sit up, right in the middle of a patch of soft, yellow flowers. How they managed to break my fall? No idea.

It's quiet.

I look up, looks like a large tunnel above me. Way too high and steep for me to climb out. Through it, I can faintly see the clouds blocking out most of the moonlight.

'What was I doing in the middle of the night? Walking with someone? No.'

I have no family. My parents vanished when I was young, a long time ago. They wouldn't tell me where but they promised they would come back. Well, almost a decade later and even I've accepted that's not happening. Never really made any friends except my (cat or dog). Never tried to hang out with people in general either so there was no chance of making any enemies either.

'If I wasn't with someone, how did I get to Mount Ebott? I fell..... into the Underground...'

My brain is severely confused, and now I'm starting to panic on top of that. I look around for any signs of danger.

'Please tell me I didn't-.. I did.'

At the end of the room, there's a old corridor with broken down, stone pillars. Considering where I am in the first place, I have a gut feeling that it's not man-made.

I left my phone back at the house for a reason I can't remember. I was in a hurry for something but it's still a blur. Thinking about it makes my head ache so I choose not to focus on it for now.

I have bigger problems. With no friends or family, no one will notice that I'm gone.

'Would anyone in town come to search for me? Am I just going to be left here? Stuck here?'

Forgotten.

That brought up a bigger, more crucial question.

'Who am I? Y/N... Y/N...'

I don't know my last name.

'Dang it.'

It's colder down here in the caverns. I can't stay here. As much as I dreaded entering the den of, supposedly, all monster kind... I have to find shelter, food, and water, and another way out of here.

(~Small Time Skip~)

Going through these ruins is a lot scarier than I thought. Desolation and eerie quiet fill the place. There are puzzles and traps down here but most of them had been broken by force. Because of all the damage, they're no longer functional.

'Easy for me since I don't have to solve them.'

I don't know what freaks me out more. The fact that I haven't bumped into a monster or the REASON WHY I haven't seen one yet.

'I don't like this.'

Countless piles of scattered dust litter the area. I silently walk past them. The thought came to me that maybe monsters aren't even real. Even if they were real and trapped here hundreds of years ago, that doesn't mean they survived.

Continuing my journey, I have more reason to believe that something definitely happened. Mysterious holes, cracks, and scratches are carved into the walls and floor. Not cracks of deterioration, these are large cracks of harsh impacts, the intent to destroy something.

'There was fighting?'

I find more dust, it is getting harder and harder to avoid it. There's so much of it.

(~Another Time Skip~)

Finally, I made my way through the maze and found what seems to be a house. It's still as deserted and quiet as when my journey began.

'Whatever made those marks in the halls could be living here.'

Cautiously, I approach the building and walk inside. The home was dark. The air inside is a bit stuffy. To the right, there's a hall to some bedrooms. Walking to the left, I found a living room and kitchen. Things are organized and neatly placed, collecting dust since apparently no one's touched them in a while.

'No one lives here anymore.'

I carefully search the cabinets for any food that might've been left. Found an old chocolate bar, some butterscotch candy, and tucked away I found a recipe for snail pie.

'Ew, no.'

I take the sweets and then head down some stairs that were in the main hall. It leads to yet another long hall. Continuing down the path, I have more time to process all of my discoveries. I quietly ask myself, "What happened here?"

The air started to get chiller. Wind became more clear and recognizable, echoing through the hallway. I reach the end, the scene I see immediately gives me a sick feeling in my stomach.

Two large stone doors, capable of crushing and killing a full grown man, are in terrible shape. One is split in half, on the ground. The other is barely hanging onto the doorway, definitely ready to crumble at the slightest touch.

The outside face of the doors are completely black and charred. They're burn marks, but from what? It's not a burn mark from a fire because it would've slowly burned both sides. Not completely throw the doors off their place and break them into pieces.

'Stone doesn't burn. Does it?'

The doors were blasted by some kind of weapon. Maybe. Another thing is clear. That thing, whatever it was, broke into the ruins from the outside.

Good to know that I know where the wind is coming from now. A snowy forest resides on the other side of the doorway. It's dark as night. However, when I squint, I can make out the shadows of tall coniferous trees and white snow on the ground. Surely that isn't the exit. Mount Ebott is huge, I'm sure I'm still underground. Which means there are living ecosystems down here, protected from the outside world. Almost like it's in a snow globe or terrarium.

'A winter wonderland. If it wasn't so freaking dark with the unknown beast lurking around, exploring it wouldn't sound so bad.'

Looking down, I notice the tattered remains of a purple robe. It's trapped under one of the doors, surrounded by guess what? Dust.

More. Freaking. Dust.

I'm getting a very bad feeling. This place has been compromised by something which may come back. So, I think it's best if I find another place to hide.

Something scares the heck out of me. As soon as I look up, in the middle of the dark forest, a bright red spot appears out of nowhere somewhere down the snowy path. I tense up. My body is not listening to my first instinct to RUN.

The more I'm forced to stare it, I noticed that it wasn't a dot. It looks more like a glowing red target. As my eyes adjusted to the dark, I started to see a dark figure standing behind it.

My heart starts beating harder and faster, filled with fear.

'WHAT IS THAT?!'

Truly, this must be my imagination. My mind playing tricks on me in the dark. It's already obvious that I can't think straight with half of my memory gone.

As soon as it appeared, the target was gone. The illusion of the person was gone too.

'Oh god...'

(~It's Ya Boi's POV~)

A human. Soft (H/L H/C) hair. (E/C) eyes, fearful for their life. Looks like a girl, definitely a girl. Older than Frisk or Chara, that's interesting. An adult human was idiotic enough to fall down here.

A deep chuckle rises from my throat as my smile grows wider. I've been so bored.

'This should be fun. I'll come back to play with them later. They won't get far.'
