I've Just Seen a Face-20

Abbey Road

"Hi Georgie, Paul, Richard!" I walked in hugging the lads they all stood making tea.

"Oh the lurvee birds have finally landed" Paul heckled and I smacked his arm.

"Shut up and tell me why my love life has been held up, Macca. Why are we here" John groaned, Paul was the whip to the music making.

"Well before you two start having a barny I'm off, I promised to go see Pattie and Maureen at the café. Kiss?" I was asking John but Ringo got in first planting a sloppy one on my jaw, making John push him out of the way.

"Now be a good lass, don't listen to Patties nonsense" John laughed at Georges downcast expression.

"He's kidding Georgie, I never listen to anybody. You know that!"

*******

"There she is, you took forever!" Pattie stood up and pulled me over to the table Maureen smiling, baby Zak chomping on a biscuit. "Show me your hands"

"What?"

"Your hands!"

I held my hands up and she checked the ring finger "really a few months and you think we are getting married"

"You love him."

"Well yeah I think so"

"Think. No. NO! that is unacceptable! You are perfect, you two just 'fit' "Pattie clapped her hands together and giggled.

"Another topic Maureen PLEASE!" I begged Maureen and took Zak from her lap, I was going to ignore Pattie.

After lunch we strolled the shops and Pattie somehow had so many bags I was forced to carry some too "You're mad. Why do you need all this stuff"

"Change of seasons for one thing. You get something!"

"No money"

"But"

No MONEY. I'm not bludging off John or George. That's one of the reasons I will probably stay in London when John goes back to Surrey"

Pattie came to a dead stop and people had to push past us to continue their journey "That's stupid"

"It's life. I can't get a job in Surrey, I will need to stay here. With you for a while."

"So you'll bludge off George not John"

"Pattie!!" I made a face, then conceded grimly "Just til I get a job and a flat"

"But John"

"But nothing. We are just having a good time, don't read anything else into it. He hasn't..."

"Promised you the world?"

"Just leave it Pattie. Let's get back we need to go to that dinner tonight"

**********

Dinner was a three course meal of soup, chicken and a creamy dessert. I ate a little and still felt sick from Patties words. Was I foolish should I just jump in both feet, no parachute. I looked at George, sure enough Pattie was had been in his ear and he had caught me on the way to the loo.

"You're doing the right thing. Take it slowly"

"Now I am sure I don't know what to do, George! I know you dislike this thing between John and I"

"I don't dislike I am just being cautious for you. You can live at mine as long as you want."

"I don't want to live at yours. I just, Look don't worry I'll sort meself out"

"Please yourself, just don't fall back on the liquor" He trudged off leaving me deep in thought, I went outside and must have sat for over half an hour. I looked at Big Ben in the distance and woke myself up. As I moved through the red velvet heavy curtains I took stock of the room. Gaining my bearings to where all the players were in my life. George sat in deep conversation with a bearded man, possibly a politician I may have seen his face in the daily papers. Paul and Jane swayed on the dancefloor to a slow song. Pattie, Maureen and Ringo sat on the lounges to my right, smoking and laughing. John, I could not see.

I rescanned the room focusing on the bar area, then the potted plants that lined the side walls, they cast shadows so I could not see clearly, then I saw him.

She ran a hand over his head and slivered it down his back, pinching his bum and resting it there. My pulse shot up slightly, watching the scene. She was beautiful- blonde, tall, buxom, his hands held her arms to him and they danced cheek to cheek. I was scrunching up my fists and my heart was flipping over. Jealous. Two can play at that game.

I wandered towards the bar and caught an unsuspecting young gentleman, not my type but handsome and suave, James Bond tux sealed the deal. We danced, close. I hugged the nameless man closer and closed my eyes to my screaming mind, his hand drifted lower but I caught it. I saw Johns eyes glare at me as he went past.

John circled around with his 'friend' and leaned in to speak in my ear "Kas, what are you doing"

"Dancing" we swirled away and he banked to the right, she kissed him, bitch! I let the hand go and it rode my hip. I ran a hand up his neck.

As John passed I blew him a kiss, "Stop it" hissing in my ear as he circled me with his partner.

"You first" The song stopped and the guy dropped his arms, he had realised I was using him to taunt John, I ignored the pawn and he wandered off. I stood fixated on John and what he would do next. She spoke in his ear and he shook his head in the negative, she laughed and looking over her shoulder towards me, he took her arms off his, turned and stood as I did in the middle of the dance floor, watching and waiting for one of us to make the first move. I could see Paul and Jane standing off to the side, not knowing what was going on.

John pointed at me and crooked a finger, silently beckoning me to go to him. I shook my head no. The music started and dancers flew between us and we stood unmoved. I held up three fingers and we each walked three paces each towards each other. He was smiling but we were still apart a lone dancer would invade the area every now and then.

"Kas you were jealous" John spoke first, smirking a little but still annoyed with the guy I had danced with.

"NO! Were you?"

"Yes" John spoke staring me in the eyes and I never in a million years thought I would hear that sort of weak admission pass his lips.

"Yes?!"

He nodded and we were together again, kissing on the dance floor as the beautiful gowns and tux's floated around us.

"You only dance with me, John. Only me" I grasped his hair firmly pulling him out of the kiss. "Don't make me jealous again"

The mirrored sentiment in his dark shadowed eyes shone brightly as he possessed my mouth like never before "Kas, I'll never dance with another"

"Home" I whispered in his ear and he nodded. Hugging me close to him and we left the room, ignoring the looks and questioning glances. Surrey was in our sights, nothing else mattered.

"Pull Over!" We had travelled towards the house coming within the sight of Heathrow but still out of towns and villages, the road was dark and no other cars passed.

"What's wrong, changed your mind again" John mumbled and slide the sleek purple jaguar into a park that had loomed on us as I had spoken.

"No, I just couldn't wait"

"For what?" John turned on the overhead light and I was blinded by the bright light, he flicked it off then realised moonlight was shimmering down on us, my dress was hitched high and I was crawling over the gear stick to sit on him.

"What the fuck are you doing?"

"Well I would hope, by now, you would have worked it out but if I need to spell it out" I kissed him and plonked down on his lap, the jag was fairly compact, so I grappled with the slidy handle thingo to get seat back as far as it would go.

"Your mad but I like the sentiment" I ignored his words and covered him with lipstick kisses. "We are nearly 'ome. Shit Kas. Slow down" My hand slid between us and I was tugging his zipper down. He sucked my neck and I felt the hickey form with the kiss John placed. "I'm not nineteen you know"

"I know that, grandpa. Have some spontaneity in your life! I bet you haven't done this in a while." I smiled on his lips and he pecked me back.

John sat back and thought for a moment, glancing up to the roof as if some clarity of would come to him "You know I haven't actually done it in the humble auto. A plane, a train, a van, a zoo, a roof and pretty sure in a cable car in Austria but the humble car- nope, never"

I'll ask about the zoo later.....

"You're kidding! Not when you were growing up? In Liverpool?!"

"Didn't have a car and never was able to borrow one. When I finally had me own, well the Beatles were full blown madness, and...well just never pulled over did I. Was always going somewhere, weren't I"

"I'm speechless. Don't say a word! Get in the back you automobile virgin" I dashed out of the door and flew in the back seat, thankful he hadn't bought a coupe.

You know that old saying 'if the cars a rockin don't come a knockin' well it got ignored.

Tap, tap. A hand rat-a tatted on the window.

"Shit" I wiped a tiny sliver of condensation off the window and spotted a copper, taking down the number plate and trying to peer in the fogged up windows. "Shit. Shit"

"You already said that, what is it." John whispered from below me, sprawled on the dark leather seat.

"A copper" I hissed quietly. I was on top of John, he, at first, started cackling then sobering up to the situation and current position that we were in. "Just be quiet" I placed a finger over his lips and hoped the bobby got bored and went to get a cup of tea from the local café, wherever that was.

Tap, tap, tap "Open up please. Now!" the bobby didn't depart, instead he was asking for us to come out.

I hitched up my dress as best I could to cover up my dignity, John quietly laughing again "Shush." I cranked the window down and inch and leaned toward it, John being smothered as I did so. "Umm officer is there a problem?" The office wandered over to the back window, he was middle aged, slightly pudgy, short fellow and I don't think he was in a good mood from the terse look on his face, probably because its nigh on 2am in the morning.

"Step out of the vehicle, miss" The bobby banged his waddy slightly on the roof of the car and John tried to get up to stop him, I presume, from hurting his car, I quickly shoved him back down on the seat; all the while smiling at the man hovering at the window.

"Oh dear, I'm a tad under dressed officer" I let the dress drop slightly to show a slight curve of my breast, hoping he would see enough to scare him or sate him, a roll of the die always.

"Never mind that miss, you need to dismount this car" The officer words made John scoff and snigger a laugh.

"Please sir, perhaps leave a ticket and my dear husband will attend to it in the morning" I smiled sweetly and John thrust into me, I closed my eyes and held the moan, I shoved my finger back into his face ending up hitting him in the teeth.

"And your husband is...."

".... Indisposed, presently" I smiled my most alluring smile and said a prayer to any gods that actually still listened to me.

"No miss, your husband, is he in the car?"

"Ummm... not exactly"

"Well miss I suggest that we wrap this up here and now, shall we open the door."

"Oh please, he'll,....he'll beat me. Oh, I'm so sorry. Please don't tell him" I wept brilliantly, alligator tears rained down my face.

"Now. Now miss. None of that crying business. Look just pack you and your friend up and be off home. Perhaps work things out with your husband, eh. There's a good lass. And you sir should knock it off, she's a married woman!" The officer stared into the car, still not seeing John. I gulped and started crying again, John quietly clapping his hands beside my waist "I'm off up the road if you're still here in the ten minutes it takes for me to get back I shall cart you both down the station. Am I clear!?"

I nodded and the officer walked off, I wound the window up quickly. Falling about laughing on John.

"Well get up" John wiggled about under my weight.

"No"

"No!? You heard him he's coming back" John squirmed again.

"We have 8 minutes and I am so turned on now." I leaned down pushing into him and nibbled on his ear "Oh John you bad bad, boy had me nearly in the clink, you did!" I started grinding with John and turns out he was pretty turned on too as we finished together with minutes to spare. Dashing to dress we just managed to restart the car and drive off as a beam of lights came over the hill.
