Charlotte's pov

I stepped out from the elevator and made my way into the man cave,

Jasper saw me first and said a quick hello followed by Ray and shwoz, my eyes searched for Henry and I swooned when I saw him which was weird because we had been best friends for eight years now. But puberty worked his magic on Henry and thanks to his crime fighting job he was so fit.

I could see the out line of his waist and abs through his shirt which was wet and sticking onto him, it was also translucent so there was much to feast on.

His dirty blonde hair was damp and tousled to the side as he occasionally ran his hands through it.

It happened unintentionally, what started as side glances had now turned to full on oogling at my best friend, I was scared of the feelings I was developing and more scared at how they would be received by Henry.

"CHARLOTTE!!" I screeched in fright and saw the guys staring at me like crazy.

I had once again been daydreaming about my best friend.

Ray, Jasper and shwoz were staring at me with knowing smiles on their faces and Henry just looked confused and worried

"Charlotte are you alright" henry asked eyebrows furrowed in confusion

"Yeah, I'm good I just have to um.. See someone" I stuttered out

"But you just got here" he continued

"I know byee" I replied already dashing into the elevator.

Twenty minutes later I found myself in front of the Hart's residents. I had come here straight from junk'n'stuff because I was going crazy and I needed to talk to someone who was not henry or Jasper. Which left me with Piper, Henry's little sister.

We hang out a lot when I'm not at work or with Henry and she was the best in situations like this, her being a life coach was a added bonus.

I decided not to tell her I'm in love with her brother, but just go with the "I have a friend routine ". That being settled I knocked on the door.

" hey Char! Is everything alright? Why aren't you at work with my stupid brother and his equally stupid friend? " she asked

"Can I at least come in Pipes?" I replied her

"Of course char come on in! You know you're the only friend of Henry I'd willingly say that to" she opened the door further leading me to the couch.

I groaned as my butt hit the comfortable couch while reminiscing on my feelings.

"Okay Char, start talking" she stated eyes glued on mine.

"So I kinda have this friend who thinks she's in love with her best friend no scratch that, she knows she's in love with her best friend and is 100% certain he doesn't feel the same way about her, so what should she do?" I blabbed in one breath avoiding her intense stare.

After a moment of silence she asked    " first of Charlotte, tell me is it Henry or Jasper? "

"What! No! I told you a friend of mine!" I replied too quickly

"Charlotte nobody believes that anymore, so is it Henry or Jasper because no offense, they are your only guy friends" she corked an eyebrow at me

"It's Henry " I whispered, the floor mat seeming very interesting to me

"Girl you gotta speak louder than that" she sipped on her smoothie which I had no idea was there in the first place.

"It's Henry okay!" I signed

"Ew.... My lame brother!come on char you deserve way better!" She exclaimed cringing

"I can't think of anyone but him, I really embarrassed myself today at work just because I was staring at him, I'm losing it pips I can't be in love with my best friend, I just can't" I exclaimed freaking out now

"Says who, who told you it's a crime to fall in love with your best friend" she asked calmly

I was silent. I knew she had a valid point but I my mind was swirling around the fact that Henry may not like me back.

"Look char, just tell Henry how you feel, I have a gut feeling he feels the same way too. And if he doesn't then that's his loss, okay?"

I thought about what she said. Was I willing to put my friendship on the line over a gut feeling?if Henry rejected me, we would slowly drift apart and I do not want that. I want to be able to admire him even if it's just from the sidelines.

"Nope, I can't do it pips, I can't risk jeopardizing our friendship, no chance" I stated firmly

"Char in life you gotta take risks, that's how it works. You'll never no if you don't try" she tried convincingly

"I'll think about it, but for now I have to get back to work. Thanks for the talk" I stood up, making my way to the door

"Anytime girlfriend " she answered giving me a hug.

And I left the Hart's residence with even more confusion than I came with.
