Couples

A/N: Sorry for the lack of updating again. My old computer was having some issues and running too slowly to really write. I got a new laptop for Christmas so I can write again! I hope you're all having happy holidays and a great New Year! Enjoy.

"Hm," Marky hummed in my ear, "Kinda thought we'd be done with Mickey's parties when we started dating."

"Mickey is throwing a party, he invited us-."

"You."

"-So we came."

He sighed and gaved me a small look. We both knew that I probably wouldn't have dragged his ass all the way downtown to Mickey's if I wasn't fighting with Jess and out to prove a point. Before I started dating Marky I never would've skipped a party. Whether the reason I'd been neglecting the party scene as of late was because of Marky, being out of the loop, or a new found maturity, I wasn't sure. But I sure as hell wasn't going to let Jess trash talk me about skipping parties because my boyfriend wouldn't let me go or I didn't have time for her. Marky knew all of this and God bless him for saying nothing.

"Okay."

I gave him a small smile for folding so easily. "Thanks, babe."

He rolled his eyes playfully, "Yeah, sure. What do I have to do?"

"Um, emotional support?" I guessed, "Just chill for a little while I havev Jess?"

Nodding his head, Marky walked off to go entertain himself while I searched for Jess. It'd been a week since we fought on the phone and we hadn't spoken since. Neither of us wanted to suck up their pride and talk to the other first.

"Jess!" I called, spotting her talking to Mickey across the room. Of-fucking-course.

"Hey, Sierra," an arm slinked around my waist and my vision of blocked by a board, muscular chest.

Looking up to face the handsy stranger, I saw an old hook up buddy of mine, Ray. I grimaced at his overly forward advance and peeled his hand off my hip delicately. "I'm dating someone."

"So?"

"So, I don't cheat," I spat back, incredibly offended that he thought so little of me.

He laughed, "We both know you've wrecked a few homes."

I crossed my arms over my chest, quirked an eyebrow, and squared off against this jerk. It was one thing to shamelessly hit on me, but calling me a home wrecker was a whole other thing. "Excuse me?"

"It's not a big deal-," Another laughed, and he laid his hand on my shoulder this time.

"Yes, it fucking is and I told you; I. Have. A. Boyfriend." I pushed his hand off me. What was I thinking hooking up with this?

"I don't see him anywhere."

"Then I'd say you need to get your eyes checked," Marky answered, coming up next to me and sliding an arm around my shoulder. I smiled up at him as he causally took a sip of his soda can.

"You're with a guy who's drinking soda?" Ray raised an eyebrow incredously at me. When we'd been hookinh up I was drunk or high a majority of the time... probably all the time.

"I don't drink and drive, 'cause I'm not an asshole," Marky informed him.

Ray shot him a look and then walked away, mumbling how I "wasn't worth it".

"Thanks," I grinned at Marky once Ray was out of sight.

His lips pressed firmly onto my forehead, "Getting rid of him was equally as good for me as you."

"There's the new couple!" A drunken Jess loudly confornted us. "Make it out of bed for the party, did we?"

"We obviously did since we're standing right in front of you," I snapped.

Jess rolled her eyes at me and went on the attack. "I'm shocked Marky let you come."

"Marky's not the boss of me. Relationships aren't prisons, Jess."

"Um, funny coming from you. Especially since I just saw Marky chase away you're old boy toy." she jabbed an excusing finger at me.

"You used to hook up with that guy?" Marky asked. If I hadn't been more focused on Jess, I would've been able to tell whether he was more surprised or hurt by this fact. There wasn't much I could do about it now anyway.

"Jess, why are you being like this?" I questioned.

"Being like what?" she slurred.

"You're way too drunk."

"Am not!" she stomped her foot.

"You are."

"No!"

"Yeah."

"You just don't want me to hang out with Mickey," she pouted accusingly.

I suppressed a groan. Not this again. She was like obsessed with him. "For the last time. Mickey and I aren't together, we're never going to get together, and Marky is not in charge of me. Jess, I do consider your feelings, despite what you apparently think of me."

Her perfectly plucked eyebrows shot up to her forehead in surprise. "Sierra, I don't think poorly of you."

"Sure."

"I don't. You're my best friend."

"Then why are you being crazy?"

She hesitated to answer and her eyes glanced to Marky. "Could you give us a minute?" She asked him.

Marky shot me a glance and I gave him a small nod telling him that I'd be fine if he left. Once he was far enough away for her, Jess started to talking again and I turned my head back to her. "You've never had a serious boyfriend before and you disappeared..."

"Jess, Marky and I already spend a lot of time together. Nothing's changed-."

"Yet. But you're going to want to hang out as a couple and go on double dates with couples friends. And I'm not in a couple," she cried.

I had to try my hardest to suppress a laugh. "That's why you were obsessing over Mickey? You wanted us to double date?"

"Well, who else would you double date with? You're so picky," she giggled with tears in her eyes.

I laughed back and drew her into a huge hug. She was so dumb, I loved her. "Marky probably doesn't want to double date with my ex, anyway." I pulled out of our hug and wiped her tears. Looking her in the eye, I laughed and promised, "We'll find someone for you, no worries. You're a catch."

"You promise?" she hiccupped- a combination of her crying and large quantities of alcohol.

"Yeah, I promise. Now how about we go find Marky to drive us home."

She nodded solemly. "Thanks, Sierra."

"No problem, babe," I replied, already searching the crowd for Marky.

A/N: I went back to school today after Christmas break and I'm literally dying of a cold. Life is so unfair. But at least I finally updated. I don't know if I really captured Jess' drunkness well. I hope I did. Comment, vote, and fan!
