Epilogue

Did for u UltimateWaifu. Idk why but I feel the need to put hardcore angst in this crap. aND ALSO THIS IS KIND OF SAD AND EMOTIONAL HAHAHA WARNINGS ARE FUN YAY

Just like all other days, the day of Haruhi's mother's death passed, along with the sadness it brought. But of course, an emotion as strong as sadness loathes goodbyes.

Haruhi sat down at the host club, a blank expression on her face as she gently set her bag at her feet, leaning back into her seat slightly afterwards. Tamaki then stopped his one-sided conversation with Mori who had a sleeping Hunny on his back, to look over at her. He smiled widely. "Hello, Haruhi!" He said, walking over to her as Mori went over to a quieter area to put Hunny to bed. "Hey," Haruhi replied with a weak smile. She looked drained and exhausted. Like she has been up all night. Tamaki frowned. "You didn't sleep after I left, did you...?" Haruhi widened her eyes ever so slightly, then hung her head in guilt. "No... I couldn't sleep..." Tamaki sighed and wrapped his arms around her. "Haruhi... You need to..." Haruhi laid her head on his chest as he looked down at her. "I know... It's just not easy..." Tamaki sighed again. "Alright then, I'll have to bring extreme measures..." Haruhi stopped everything. Moving, blinking, breathing. She was wondering just what were those "extreme measures"... "... WE SHALL STAY AT YOUR HOUSE UNTIL YOU FALL ASLEEP!" Tamaki yelled. After that a small cry was heard, like one of a small child, followed by what seemed to be a growl and fast footsteps. "Tama-chan..." Tamaki paled. "Oh dear."

"Haruhi! Your friends are here!" Haruhi heard her father yell. Haruhi's eyes widened. She had completely forgotten that Tamaki isn't sarcastic and he really means every dramatic word he says about a plan. "Oh crap," She mumbled under breath, scrambling to her feet from her sitting position on her bed and quickly running around the place to attempt to clean it. She quickly threw the clothes on her floor into the hamper in the corner of her room, ran to get the papers she had scribbled down her feelings in that were on her desk into the drawer, and pushed her chair in so it looked out together. Footsteps approached the door, as with each step Haruhi became more and more anxious to make sure her room was presentable. She could hear Tamaki giving the "men" a speech on how to act and what to do as she quickly put away the books stacked onto her desk into her small shelf that was on the wall. "HARUHIIIII!" Tamaki yelled as Kyoya unexpectedly opened the door to her room. Haruhi whipped her head around only to get a face full of Tamaki's chest as he quickly picked her up and spin her around. "T-Tamaki! Put me down!" Haruhi was able to get out, feeling sick after about 7 spins. "NO!" Tamaki yelled, stopping his spinning but not letting go. "Why!?" Haruhi asked. "Becauuuse!" Tamaki whined. Haruhi sighed. "Yeah! Come on boss!" Hikaru started, pulling his left arm. "Yeah! We want some Haruhi hugs too~!" Kaoru finished, pulling his right arm. "No! She's mine you pervy twins!" Tamaki yelled, tightening his grip. "You're the pervert for hogging her..." The twins mumbled in synch. Tamaki paled but then regained his composure. "Whatever..." Tamaki said, brushing off their conversation. Haruhi looked up at him, curious. He never just stops when a fight is heating up between him, Hikaru and Kaoru. The twins also looked confused as they gave each other questioning looks. "Well Haruhi, since it's about nine, almost ten..." Tamaki mumbled as he looked over at the clock on her wall. "How about you lay in bed and we can be very quiet," He paused to glare at the twins. "And let you sleep." Haruhi raised an eyebrow. "How is that going to happen?" She thought. But she nodded. She knew they were idiots, but she also knew they would never hurt her in any way. Plus, she hadn't been able to sleep in two days so anything seemed practical to her honestly. So she face planted into bed, shifting around a bit before she finally got comfortable on her bed, which or course was still made. After all, this is Haruhi. Tamaki smiled. "Goodnight, Haruhi..." He said. Hunny and Mori sat in a small chair in the corner, just barely big enough to hold Mori as Hunny sat on his lap. "He really does love her, doesn't he Takashi?" Hunny asked, looking up at his cousin with his big brown eyes. Mori nodded, his focus on the two. "Yeah," He replied. Hunny grinned. "I like then together," he began, "But..." Hunny looked down at his feet that were swaying back and fourth, but had stopped at the sudden saddening thought that had come to him. Mori, worried by is cousin's change of tone, looked down at him. "... Haru-chan hasn't been happy lately... And the host club's job is to make every girl happy...! Including Haru-chan... So... Doesn't that mean..." Hunny's eyes slowly began to fill with tears. "D-Doesn't that mean that we- that w-we... F- failed at our job...!?" Hunny said, not being able to hold in his tears any longer. Mori had already noticed he was going to cry, as Hunny's voice was strained as he spoke. Frowning, the tall teenager picked up his small cousin, turning him around and allowing his to cry in his shoulder. Once the small blonde had began to calm down, Mori spoke. "Mitsukuni," He began. "We can still make Haruhi happy. We have not failed." Hunny sniffed then nodded, taking his head out of his cousin's shoulder. "Y-Yeah... We can make Haru- chan happy! We just have to d-do our best!" Hunny replied triumphantly, getting louder until the twins shushed him. Hunny looked over at the two copper-tops in confusion, until he looked over at Haruhi's bed. "Oh...!" Hunny smiled as he looked over at his sleeping friend. Haruhi had finally gotten to sleep, Tamaki's hand clasped in hers, as her even breathing indicated she was finally getting the well-needed rest she had been wanting to get. Hunny yawned lightly, as the sight of Haruhi sleeping honestly made him a bit drowsy himself. "It looks like we might've... Just started to make her happier..." Hunny rubbed his eye tiredly, clutching Usa-chan in his other hand. Hunny then tightly wrapped his arms around Usa-chan, placing his chin on the doll's head and leaning back. "Nite nite... Takashi..." Hunny said, slowly drifting to sleep. And after that, all the boy say was black as he flew into rest's arms. "Goodnight, Mitsukuni."

Haruhi woke up with a start, beads of sweat beginning to form on her forehead at she frantically looked around the place for any signs of blood, bullets, or paramedics. Her breathing was ragged as she ran a sweat-covered hand through her dark brown hair. "... Fourth night in a row..." She muttered to herself, swinging her legs over the side of her bed and standing up. She had been having these nightmares of when her mother died ever since she saw that the day was coming up on her calendar. Oh how she missed her mother... She missed her laugh, her warm comforting smiles, her happy bedtime stories that somehow always had something to do with bunnies or puppies. How did she remember all of this? To be honest, Haruhi herself didn't even know how she remembered, nor did she really give it any thought. She walked over towards her door, peering at herself in the small handheld mirror she had lying on her desk that was at just the right angle to where she could see herself. She paused after looking at herself. "Thats odd..." She said quietly to herself, an eyebrow raised at the sight. Usually, she had always cried herself to sleep around the time of her mother's death, so she wasn't sure why she wasn't seeing any odd tear stains on her cheeks. Then it all came back to her. The host club coming over, rushing to quickly clean her room, falling asleep and feeling Tamaki's hand grab her own. She sighed lightly to herself before walking out of her dark room and slowly making her way to the kitchen. "Hm... i wonder where they are now..." She thought to herself, now walking over to the small cabinet of dishes. She took out a small glass, filling it up with water from her sink before taking a small sip from it, looking out the window. "I wonder how you're doing up in heaven mom..." She said quietly, clutching her glass with both of her hand tightly. "Don't worry... That idiot is still in jail, and he's staying in there for the rest of his life..." Tears slowly made their way to Haruhi's chestnut brown eyes. "And you're okay... Right?" Her grip on the glass slowly tightened until her knuckles were white, and small cracks began to form on the cup. "I mean, you're with everyone else... Right?!"

Crack!

Haruhi froze as she heard the sound of glass shattering as she felt tiny cuts form, and splinters begin to make their way into her skin. She bit her lip tightly until she tasted the metal-like taste of her own blood in her mouth as she tried to keep herself from yelping in pain. She felt warm liquid begin to ooze down her arm, as she loosed her grip on her fingers as she had made fists before. Glass pieces slowly began to fall the floor, one by one falling out of her bloody hands. "Sorry mom..." She muttered, her hair covering her tear filled eyes as the salty water began to trickle down her cheeks. "H-Haruhi?! What happened?" The crying girl slowly peered over her shoulder as droplets of blood began to fall down from her hands and onto the floor. "Nothing, senpai... I'm fine." Tamaki frowned. He could tell she was crying. He held her his hand, telling her to just show him the damage. She sighed and turned over to him, putting her wrist in his hand to avoid getting a lot of blood all over his hand. Tamaki's eyes widened. "H-Haruhi!" "Yeah?" Her eyes were dull, and lifeless. Almost like the eyes of a doll. "C-Come on, that must hurt... We should go clean that up..." Haruhi shrugged. "I don't really care..." Tamaki's eyes widened as tears made their way to them. He then let his hair cover half of his face to shield his emotions as he gently led her to the bathroom. "Where is your first aid kit." Tamaki asked bluntly as he gently lifted her onto the bathroom counter. Haruhi pointed down to the cabinets bellow her, not lifting her gaze from tamaki as she put her knees to her chest for him the get the kit. "Thanks.." Tamaki muttered, getting the first aid kit out and then setting it next to Haruhi. After that it was mainly silent other than the sound of Tamaki picking the glass shards out of Haruhi's hand and setting them onto a towel. He then was the cuts under cold water from the sink, and frowned as he saw Haruhi flinch at the touch. Afterwards, he gently dried the cuts and took out a disinfectant spray. And oh, did it hurt like a pillow fluffer. Haruhi hissed lightly in pain at the stinging sensation it provided, tensing up her hand and wanting to pull it away. "Sorry..." Tamaki said quietly, moving onto her other hand. He then gently wrapped her hands in gauze, before taping it in place and putting the kit away. After doing so, he immediately looked over at Haruhi with now visible and teary eyes. "Senpai...?" Haruhi quested. Tamaki then burst into tears as he wrapped his arms around Haruhi, sobbing into her shoulder as he put his hands on the back of her head and her back. "You should always care when you're hurt, you idiot!" He yelled, luckily not loud enough to wake Ranka, or any of the rest of the host club who were still asleep in the living room. Haruhi stared at the wall behind Tamaki, wide eyed. Why did he care? And why didn't she immediately run to the bathroom to clean her hands up by herself?! "Please Haruhi..." Tamaki let go of her and gripped her shoulders. "Try to take better care of yourself....!" He looked her in the eye as tears began to fall down Haruhi's cheeks. Tamaki angrily rubbed at the tears covering his face, picking Haruhi up from the counter bridal style then walking over to her bed, sitting down and setting her gently in his lap. "... No one, 'shouldn't care' if they're hurt, Haruhi..." Haruhi sighed. "I know... I don't know what came over me, i just... I don't know..." Tamaki sniffed then gently kissed her head. "It's okay, Haruhi... Just get some sleep..." Haruhi nodded as Tamaki brought her closer to him. "Goodnight Haruhi." Haruhi smirked slightly  as she closed her eyes. "Goodnight, Senpai." Tamaki smiled.

"... I think I love him, mom..."
