Now before u get offended,,, let me explain.

I'm not talking about M/M ships, because I do actually have M/M ships.

But M/M and yaoi aren't the same thing.

M/M, (male/male), refers to a relationship between two men. HAVE WE ESTABLISHED THAT?

RIGHT.

Yaoi is a genre of manga/anime of two attractive males, usually having sex. It is typically directed towards young women.

((Personally, I don't like reading smut, or looking at porn, because it makes me uncomfortable. But if you are one of the people who like it, then that's fine!! do what you want, I won't judge.))

A lot of the time, there can be completely harmless yaoi, just two consenting men havin sex, and there's nothing inherently wrong about that.

BUT, yaoi manga can sometimes be very rape/pedophilia oriented. If you have basic human decency, you can understand that this is absolutely fucking gross :).

You can also occasionally get very toxic yaoi ships, with abusive themes.

In the anime 'Attack On Titan', there are two characters who are shipped together A LOT: Eren and Levi.

Eren, in the anime, is 15/16 years old.

Levi, on the other hand, is 35. More than twice Eren's age.

Levi first appeared in the anime kicking and beating Eren, for some reason or another. Granted, this was because of something to do with Eren being a titan, but it is still abuse, no matter which light you put it in.

Shipping ereri in the canon universe is WEIRD. I try not to ship hate, do whatever you want, but Levi's 20 years older than Eren.

Thankfully, in the few ereri fanfics I have seen, the writer usually closes the age gap, and tones down the violence, therefore hindering it a more healthy relationship, so that's cool.

On another note, the whole 'Uke/Seme' concept kind of weirds me out. Why does one guy have to be feminine and the other guy have to be masculine, like they're 'imitating heterosexuality'?? They're both guys for a reason?? I mean of course guys can be feminine but if you're going to make the 'uke' all blushy and stuttery, and the 'seme' all macho hero buff man, all for the sake of their sexual dominance, it's a bit redundant. Also the taller one doesn't necessarily have to top.

now before u come @ me with stuff like "oh i read yaoi!!1!1! it's really good and it's nothing like how you've described it!!1!1!!1" please bear in mind I am only speaking about the yaoi which i have tried to read in the past.
