Naomi's POV

I rushed through the corridors almost pushing a nurse, tripping over my own steps, and falling down when two arms rescued me.

"Thank you." I mumbled.

"Been doing that since the ninth grade."

Before I could reply anything snarty, he held me and took me over to the cabin outside which Zayn was standing.

"What happened?" I gasped for breath.

"When we went back home we saw him lying on the floor unconscious. This was his second attack in five years. "
Niall and Zayn shared a look before looking at me.

"Second attack? When was the first one?" I rattled.

"His graduation day." Zayn replied.

We were waiting outside the emergency room.

It was a very peculiar situation, where the two most talkative people I knew were numb, and were out of words.

I had only known Zayn for a day but this silence was deafening...yet I didn't react much to his numbness because I wasn't aware how much Harry and himself  were close, I was giving him the space he needed to process everything that was going on .

On the other hand, Niall was not just numb he was dumbstruck, even when he spoke to me that once, he did it without his Niall charisma, without the charm, just plain.

He just sat there, with his legs apart, hands joined, and his eyes were locked to the wall just opposite to him, nothing made him move. I never thought I'd say this but it was heartbreaking to see him like this, again.

I was engaged staring at him when a voice broke my chain of thoughts,

"Dr. Peters, you're here already. I was hoping we'd see you today." Said Jared .

Jared and I were colleagues, we'd known each other since an drunken encounter and swore that if we ever met again we'd be friends, well he swore and I just went along cause I never thought I'd see him EVER.

But here we are working together. Until the day before yesterday , my sister and him were the only two things I had known in this unknown city. But a lot has happened since then.

"Morning Dr. Jared, how's the patient?" I inquired.

"He's still unconscious." He said and I took over the tab sheet from him.

"You were supposed to be having a day off today weren't you?" He squinted his brows.

"Yep I was. " I said with my eyes all  over the sheets of Harry's reports.

"So what're your doing here?"

"Family emergency ." I said biting my nail.

"Do you know him?"

"He's a brother."

"Brother? Yours?"

"My n'th cousin a billion times removed."

"Not confusing at all. You know his history?"

"Yes, he invented this little game where he drank and drank alcohol everytime things didn't go his way or in other words when he was depressed . Little did he know that game already had a name, alcoholism."

"You're presence here then proves that...."

"Yes Jared I'll be taking over."

Jared finally left the scene, leaving Niall and Zayn staring at me as if I'd done something they'd never expect.

"You work here?"

"Yeah." I nodded.

Harry had regained his consciousness and as soon as he realised that I had taken over his case he was stunned.

Harry's Apartment

I opened the refrigerator to get something to drink.  It had been a very long tiring day, Niall being Harry's immediate guardian or "case of emergency contact" requested to continue Harry's treatment to be done from his apartment instead of the hospital.

Classic Niall.

I turned around while opening the beer can,

"Huh....." I gasped for breath
"Why are you out of your bed?"

"Sign these will you."

Harry said giving me over a booklet.

"What is this?"
I started reading.

"I thereby agree to follow the terms and conditions in order to continue the treatment of Mr. Harry Edward Styles.
What is all this?"

"This, is a contract I'm pulling for patient confidentiality."

"That I understand but why? "

"Why you ask? Do I not trust you? Or do I not trust you enough with my personal information ?"

"What are you talking?"

He wasn't himself, he had this sudden change of behaviour and, he wasn't him .

"Sign it and you're welcome to treat me and if not , see yourself out."

"Dude are you out of your senses?" Niall barged in.

"Oh woopie your saviours here."

"It's okay Niall. Give me a pen."

I signed the papers, it surely was just so that I could continue his treatment myself, no matter how much tantrums he threw.

"Are you sure you're alright?"

"Yep I am. Are you?"

"Yes." He nodded .

"Sure? You seemed pretty zoned out at the hospital today?"

"Yeah, was tensed."

He sat down at the couch. Seemed like nobody was them self today. Zayn wasn't smirky, Harry wasn't happy and Niall wasn't talking.

I put my hand on his shoulder,
"It'll all be fine Niall, I'm here now."
He held my hand and slowly rested his head on my body while I stood there.

"I know Naomi, I know."

Harry's PoV

I made Naomi sign the papers for no matter how sure I was that Naomi won't utter a word of this to her sister I didn't wanna risk it .

Natalie was happy, and being with me only makes her unhappy.

Past

"Hey love shouldn't you be in the cafeteria right now... I was waiting for you there."

"I am not really hungry Harry."

" I think there is still a lot of time left for you to finish studying for this  year." Natalie closing her book looked up to me with wondering eyes.

"I wasn't thinking about studying Harry."

"What is bothering you babe?"

"I am just thinking about the future Harry."

"So what do you think will happen in the future."

"Am just thinking about college university all that."

"Nat you are such a good student any University will be lucky to have you NYU, Columbia, Yale."

"My parents want me to apply for Princeton Harry. The applied science and bio engineering program is one of the best in the country."

"So you will be moving to New Jersey."

"I don't know nothing's final yet... I mean I haven't even applied." I looked at Natalie she was bewildered, the Natalie I know would always be certain of the future, her future. The only reason , she might still wanna stay back is probably me. I kinda felt good about it, but I also didn't want to stand in between her and her future.

"You know what, I will take a year of sabbatical and join in the next year at Princeton."

"And Mr. and Mrs. Peters are gonna agree." 
There was a long pause before she replied.
"Princeton is all we talked about, since middle school and althrough high school" she continued ,"I just wish this would all just slow down a bit, it feel it's all coming up so fast, taking me away from you."

"Hey who said anything about going away?ill come to visit you every weekend, or you could come, or I'll move to New Jersey with you." " Maybe for  a few years we'll be apart completing our studies . But then we'll find each other and stay happily ever after."

Hearing this Natalie chuckled, with little tears in her eyes. I know what she feared ... I feared that too.. I couldn't lose her... if I ever did... I'd die..

"That's it. You want the story of our lives to end in ten years time with the tag of happily ever after?"

"Shhh it's a library ."

"What do you want?"she continued.

" It's not what I want it's what I'll have.
I'll have you, since I'll have you I'll have to adopt your sister too, vice versa for your case..."

"But you don't have a younger sibling?"

"Let me continue, so well have a house with many rooms one for each sets of parents, one for our kids, one for Naomi cause I'll be adopting her and one for Niall cause I cannot leave him out."

"Seriously? I thought Niall came with Naomi."

"Seriously, here I am talking about kids and your still stuck with N-squared."

" I'm sorry I'm sorry. Seems"

"You're interrupting...."

"Hello to you too Harry. Nat we need to go home Noah said to come back as soon as possible. I'm leaving with Niall...Harry drop her ."

"Enjoy you two."Harry chuckled.

"You're interrupting..." retorted Natalie.

"What do you think happened. now?"

"I don't know let's go home shall we."

"But before that I gotta eat something am darn hungry."

"Ok ." She replied her voice a little shaky.
We started pacing towards the door , when she pulled me on the side, and caught me by surprise "I love you" she mumbled, and smacked her lips with mine.

We reached Nat's place where to my surprise, I saw mom and Gemma's  car.

"Isn't that..."

"My mom's car yeah."

"What do you think happened?"

We stood outside the house which was unusually quite. Until Naomi opened the door.

Everyone was quite. There was pin drop silence in the room.

"WE GOT ENGAGEDDD." Gemma and Noah announced together.

We were all so happy, everyone was beaming with joy,

"We should celebrateee!!!!!" Naomi screamed.

"I'm taking all of you out tonight." Noah replied.
