Rows and rows of chairs were filled by all the graduating seniors, our principal up on the stage, and parents sitting in the bleachers recording as their kid walked up to grab their diploma.
I looked around at all the students, tears came to my eyes knowing that not all of were graduating today. Wes and Liv were dead when they should've been up there walking across that stage. It took everything in me not to burst into tears right then and there.
Chad placed a hand on mine to keep myself from picking at my fingernails -which I hadn't even realized I was doing- "I hate this too"
"Logan Emerson Macher!"
I looked over at the twins -who gave me a slight nod- and I made my way across the stage. I reached my left hand out for my diploma, but it began trembling. I assumed it was the nerves and grabbed the damn paper with my other hand and quickly walked off the stage and sat down.
I watched the twins walk the stage and grab their diploma. Chad raised the piece of paper in the air and cheered, and Mindy with her diploma, smacked the back of her brothers head and pushed him forward.
. . .
"We fucking did it!" Chad managed to wrap his arms around the three of us and we all did a combination of crying and laughing.
"Tara!" Sam called out. Tara pulled away from the group hug and ran over to her sister.
"Mom! Dad!" The twins both walked over to their parents, which left me standing there alone.
I looked around and saw my dad, Sidney, and Gale. I smiled and ran my ass over to the three. "What are you guys doing here?" I nodded my head at Gale and Sidney.
"We wouldn't miss your graduation for the world" Sidney replied.
"I know this is like a big moment and all but this all feels so- " I paused to try to find the right word to describe how I felt.
"You feel like somethings missing?" I nodded, understanding that she was referring to Wes and Liv. Sidney threw an arm over my shoulder and pulled me closer to her.
. . .
I had told my dad to stop by the cemetery before heading home. I just had to see them.
Within seconds I spotted Ambers headstone; it was covered in red spray paint, and all over it read: KILLER. I bent down and replaced the wilting roses with fresh ones. The Freeman's and I were the only three who ever visited Amber. Tara and the twins would rather die than even look at her headstone, which I mean it was understandable since she tried to kill them and all.
The twins and Tara didn't know I visited Amber, and I didn't want them too. They all hate her, and rightfully so. But I mean how could I hate her? Amber was my first love, my first kiss, my first everything...
I love her.
Correction.
Loved her.

"Emmy!" My dad shook awake, "Emmy!" I jumped up and scanned my surroundings. "Hey, hey. You're okay, you're safe. But you're gonna be late, you both are" My dad nodded his head at Liam who was drooling all over the couch.
"Fuck" I shooed my father away. I reached over Liam to grab a pillow and hit him across the head with it. He mumbled something and turned his body away. "Get up you fuckhead, we slept in"
"5 more minutes" I stood and filled up a cup with ice cold water and threw it in his face. Liam lurched forward, panting. "What the fuck Logan?!"
. . .
Despite rushing our asses out the door, Liam and I calmly roamed the halls, doing a lap or two around the building before actually heading to our film studies class. The two of us snuck in and sat beside our friends.
"Where the hell were you guys?" Tara whispered.
"I forgot to set my alarm last night" I replied.
"Or you two are secretly back together?" Rory joked.
Tara nudged the girl and gave her a stern look. Rory sank back in her seat and continued taking notes.
Liam and I had were together for like a second when the year first started. But I was at such a low point in my life I called it quits and ghosted my friends for a solid week. I didn't like being reminded of that moment in my life, and my friends tried not to bring it up. Needless to say the Woodsboro murders really fucked me up.
. . .
"No, oh my god!" Mindy put her bowl down, "He looks like the monopoly dude!"
They others all burst into fits of laughter agreeing with Mindy.
"I see it!" Tara laughed, almost choking on a piece of chicken in the process.
"I hate you all" Liam leaned back in his seat and crossed his arms.
"You have the face for it," Rory framed the blondes face with her hands. "you just need to go bald and grow a mustache"
Liam slapped her hands away. "I don't see it"
Anika gasped, "Oh you should dress up as the monopoly guy for that Halloween party tonight!"
"Nope," Chad tossed an arm around Liam's shoulders, "Liam and I are gonna be sexy cowboys"
Mindy fake gagged at her brothers comment and Chad slapped his sister on the shoulder.
Rory noticed my silence and put her hand over mine, "Hey, you alright?"
I got this weird feeling in my stomach, not a bad weird, a good weird, it was like butterflies. I nodded and leaned my head on Rory's shoulder.
Rory and I had a touchy relationship, so it wasn't odd to see us holding hands every now and then, I mean we were just friends after all.
. . .
"You sure you can't convince your mom to let you go? I mean you're literally gonna graduate college this year" I said to Liam.
"Ever since I can remember my moms never let me be a normal kid. I was never allowed at sleepovers with friends or even family" He replied, "There's no changing her mind"
"Then just sneak out" Liam looked at me as though I had just said the most absurd idea. "What? I used to do it all the time when I lived in Woodsboro"
"I'm not gonna sneak out, Logan"
"Pussy"
Liam tossed a pillow at me, I caught the pillow and fell backwards on his bed. "I don't sneak out"
"Come on, Liam! Live a little! You're a grown ass man, well, boy" I corrected myself. "you're not much of a man"
"Wow, okay" Liam threw a balled up shirt my way and it hit me right in the face.
"The fuck? Ew!" I tossed the shirt on the floor, "I don't want your crusty ass shirt all over my face"
"It's clean!"
"Why was it on the floor then?" I asked. "Why is your entire wardrobe on the floor?" I motioned at the random piles of clothes on his bedroom floor.
"Too lazy to put them away" He replied, chucking a blue t-shirt over his shoulder.
"You have a problem" I laughed, glancing at the clothes on his floor.
"Speaking of," Liam stuffed the blue t-shirt in a drawer and leaned on his dresser. "why were you so quiet during lunch?"
"You think I have a problem?"
"No no- I mean you were just- I didn't mean anything by it- "
I laughed, "It's okay, Liam. I know you didn't mean it that way"
"So, lunch. What was on your mind?"
"I think you already know" I told him, "It's hard not to think about it, you know? They were my friends and... " My voice trailed off and tears began to blur my vision. "Enough of that, we gotta get you to that party"
"Logan- "
"Drop it, okay!" I snapped at at him, "I don't wanna talk about it anymore" Liam seemed to understand and moved on.
There was a knock on Liam's bedroom door and his stepdad -Jim- poked his head in. "Hey, kiddo. Forget what your mother said, go to that party"
Liam had a goofy ass grin plastered on his face, "Really?"
"If your mother asks, you snuck out to go to that that party. I don't wanna get on her bad side" Liam laughed and agreed to it.
. . .
"Aren't you and Chad are going as cowboys?" I shouted from the bathroom.
"Sexy cowboys!" He corrected. "Hurry up!"
"Okay okay!" I walked out in my Harley Quinn costume.
"Damn! You look- " Liam paused, searching for the right word. "nice"
"Just nice?"
Liam shook his head and chuckled softly, "Shut up and let's go"
I messed around with Liam like that a lot, it was funny. Liam was always so awkward whenever he tried complimenting me.
