"My dad was a surgeon" Shrugging my shoulders as I sit down on the bed with her as Dr. Montgomery went to talk to some people "both him and my biological father, if you want I can probably give you an ultrasound" going over to the machine and turning it on before lifting her shirt and lowering her pants "the gel will be cold"

She lays back as I put the light blue gel on her lower belly before pressing the wand down, looking at the screen as we hear a whoosh. I show her the baby "Here's your baby Haley"

Haley smiles seeing her baby as I give her the ultrasound, pressing a few buttons "What's that?"

"The baby's heartbeat" I say

"Is it supposed to be that fast?" She asks

"Yes" Dr. Montgomery is back with her friend "This is Dr. Naomi Bennett, she's also a doctor. A fertility specialist" she has long black hair pulled into a ponytail with brown skin and dark brown eyes.

"Autumn is it?" Dr. Bennett asks "Can you tell us what you see on the screen?"

Looking to the screen "Alright. Everything looks normal, here's the baby's arms and legs. Given how far you are Haley, your baby is growing just fine. I don't see any abnormalities that would raise any concern. Do you want to know the sex?"

"The sex?" She asks "as in the baby's gender?"

"Exactly" Dr. Montgomery says

"Yes" she nods her head

"A boy" I point to the screen "right here that's the penis, congratulations on the boy also if you were wondering Haley a baby in utero with a fast heartbeat means that it's strong and healthy" printing the photos I hand it to her as I turn off the machine when Dr. Montgomery shook her head, I shrugged my shoulders "here is your photo"

"Autumn?" Dr. Montgomery asks "how old are you?"

"Eighteen" I say "why?"

"Have you ever worked in a hospital before?" Dr. Bennett asks

"Volunteered a few times" I say "but to take care of the elderly and keep them company, my dad and uncle were surgeons"

"Have you thought about going into medicine?" Dr. Montgomery asks me "specifically maternal medicine? Our field of medicine, there aren't many of us or with the gift that we have. Yet here you are a natural"

"I wouldn't call it a natural gift" shaking my head as Demetri came in "Hey Demetri"

"Why are you in the hospital?" He asks "Peyton told me—are you and the baby"

"We're both okay" I assure him "as is Haley and her baby, but I'm concerned since that Dr. Harris should be back and she isn't..."

"You're right" Dr. Montgomery agrees, she looks over "Dr. Karev, where's Dr. Harris. The labs should be ready by now, go get them" he nods his head leaving while she looks our way "and Autumn I would call what you have a natural gift, not many your age know two thirds of what you did" When the labs are brought back, Addison hands them to me "Can you read labs?"

"Yes" I confirm

"Then read them" Dr. Bennett asks

I do and I translate for Haley what her labs mean "Your stress levels are elevated and right over your body right here" I lightly press against her side "it's a bit rigid and according to your labs, I think you have appendicitis"

Demetri takes the labs before checking "Let's get your appendix out, I'll get some privileges"
