Phantasmagoria

Hi, My name is Josh Lundy. I am fifteen years old and I live in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Not really an exciting place to live in, nothing but grass, land and long streets. I actually wish I could move away from this place. I get tired of working on the farm with my parents. They always torture me with work and give me no time to relax whatsoever. Anyways, Its morning and I have to get ready for school. I get up to do my daily morning care and head downstairs to eat my breakfast. As mom was making breakfast and dad was still asleep, I decided to go sit on the couch that laid near my window. I open the green curtains and looked outside and sighed, nothing but a gloomy setting.

The sky was colored in sadness. Tears would eventually fall from its puffy face. I started to close the curtain before I saw something out of my peripheral vision to my left. It was a lady who was standing in the middle of the street. She looked as if she could die at any second. She wore a white dress and had a cane. Her hair was pure white. I don't know why, but something was off about her...something strange. I took a closer look at her eyes and they were blacked out. My face started to twist a bit, my heart started to pound heavily like drums being played by a band. I was frightened to the bone as I quickly closed the curtains and returned to the kitchen to eat my breakfast. My mom looked at me with a bit of confusion on her face.

"Josh, are you feeling okay? You look like you're sick." I responded by shaking my head. I finished eating my breakfast and started to head outside when I see the lady again. she was a bit closer to my house, but only a few yards away from me. I started to back up a bit as my back pressed up against the front door. She wasn't looking my way, instead, she was looking down the street. The thumping in my chest returned. My hands began to get sweaty as I was feeling the anxiety wake me up. That image of the woman's eyes was stuck in my head as it sent chills through my skin. I slowly started to walk forward hoping the lady wouldn't make any sudden movements.
