I dress in my fluffy outfit for todays ball. Oh, I'm so excited! What new people might I meet today? Mother hasn't planned a ball since my 16th birthday, and I just turned 19. I'm guessing this is for marriage purposes but I don't care as long as I get to meet new people, fresh faces. "Are you ready for tonight, Princess?" My butler, Ace, asks me. "Yes, of course!" I giggle and look at him smile. "I wonder if I'll meet the boy of my dreams!" I gasp realizing my fanasies might come true. "I guess we'll have to find out, wont we?" He asks happily. "I guess so." I smile and walk out to the ballroom where I'm introduced as Princess Julia and stand next to my mother.

"Isn't this exciting, Julia?" She asks. "Yes! I'm thrilled." I smile brightly and look down at all the bright faces, "Many new people this year, huh?"
"Ah, yes, it sure looks like it." Mother sighs happily, "Now go and meet others." I take no time to reply and quickly walk down the stairs. I accidentally miss a step and fall face first. When I open my eyes to get up I notice nice, expensive black shoes. "Oh!" I gasp and begin to feel someone helping me up. I look at the man who helped me and watch as he gets on one knee with a white rose in hand. "My apologies for not catching you, Princess." He apologises. I take the beautiful rose, "It's fine, don't trouble yourself with it." He stands up straight once more. I look at his stunning yellow eyes, "My! Your eyes are amazing! Are they natural?" I ask in amazement.

"Thank you, Princess, they are in fact natural. I get them from my father." He says, "I like your eyes as well!" I blush and thank him. My eyes are mismatched with teal for my left eye and purple for my right. I don't know how I got the purple, my mother nor father has purple eyes! There's something about this boy. His slick back brown hair and perfect tan skin naturally complement his eyes. His manners are those of an Angel though he is devilishly handsome. Ace's voice pulls me out of my thoughts, "Princess. Your mother would like a word with you." He says just barely audiable. "Yes, of course." I shake my head, "I hope to see you again soon, sir!" I wave goodbye and smile knowing that I will see him again in the near future.

I approach my mother at the top of the stairs and see four men lined up and properly dressed. The first one has a bright, healthy tone of skin with blonde hair and green eyes, dressed in white and blue. The second one has a dark tan with black hair and grey eyes, dressed in black and red. The third one has my skin tone, lightly tanned, with brown hair and brown eyes, dressed in white and yellow. The fourth one is pale, but still healthy, with light brown hair and green eyes, dressed in grey and green. "Julia," My mother walks over to the first man, "This is Prince Xavier from Orien" Mother walks over to the second man, "This is Prince Ohal from Salei" Mother walks over to the third man, "This is Prince Derrick from Etherail" Mother walks over to the last man, "And this is Prince Kaino from Juusyon. You must choose one to marry for when I am no longer Queen." She says like this isn't the hardest choice of my life!

"M-Mother? Must I marry a Prince? Why can't I marry someone else...?" I ask and she steals the rose from my hand. "Because, dear, this is tradition. We can't break it now." She says and hands the beautiful rose to Ace whispering something into his ear and he leaves, the rose probably to be thrown out. I sigh deeply knowing I'll never see a rose that stunning in my life. "Okay, mother, I choose Prince Xavier, I guess.." I shrug, not caring anymore and picking the first Prince. I hear my mother sigh and I'm sent back to do whatever as I please, as long as I don't leave the castle.

I head down the stairs carefully and go out to find the man from before. It isn't hard, though, because I hear his voice call out my name and I turn around to see him near the stairs. I mentally facepalm myself for not noticing him and walk towards him. "Princess? Were you looking for me?" He smiles and I get the urge to hug him, but I refrain myself from doing such. "Y-Yes." I nod and feel the blood rush to my face. "Why? I mean, I'm flattered, but why me?" He asks confused. I think for a moment before answering, "I'm not sure of that myself, but I did, and I'm here now, aren't I?"

"I guess that's true. Well, Princess, it's nice to see you again." He extends his hand and I take it without hesitation, feeling his soft hands makes a smile form on my face, "My name is Kai. It's a weird name, yes, but I like it because of that." He laughs, I laugh with him. "How about you come over tomorrow? We can hang out in the garden, if you'd like." I suggest with my best smile. "That sounds great. I can come around 3 or 4 in the afternoon, is that ok?" He asks. "Definately!" I nod in excitement.
I spend the rest of my night talking with Kai and getting to know him as well as he's getting to know me.

After the ball I walk to my room where I'm helped out of my clothes and given my nighttime clothes. I put them on, so much more comfortable then corsets and heels! I sigh in relief now that I can finally breath and Ace walks in. "Princess, I have something for you." He says and walks up to me with the white rose from earlier. "Here. Your mother asked I get rid of it but I saw how you looked when I carried it away so I kept it so I could give it back to it's rightful owner." He smiles softly and I take the rose. "Thank you very much, Ace!" I hug him and put the rose in a vase with fresh water next to my bed. "You're welcome, Julia. Now get some rest, you need it." He says and exits the room, while in the process, turning out my lights. I rest my head on my pillow and fall into a deep sleep.
