(A/N) So I'm writing this on my laptop and since I mainly write on my phone with autocorrect, this part may be a bit grammatically incorrect. Also, since I don't know how to get bold text or emojis or those cool squiggly lines and dots it'll be a bit bland aesthetic wise. Edit: I figured out how to get bold text! Are you proud of me? No? Understandable, have a nice day. (no one is ever proud of me anymore.) Edit #2: I'm on my phone again so I'll add the cool squiggly stuff now
I DO NOT OWN PJO OR HOO AS MY NAME IS NOT RICK RIORDAN. THE ONLY THINGS I OWN (SO FAR) ARE MILO AND THE PLOT.
Will was in pain. An imperial gold stab wound was hard to bounce back from, but he was trying. For some reasons, he kept having to be sedated. Will didn't understand why, but he noticed they were careful not to say anything about Milo. Oh, Milo. He had been such a sweet, careful boy. Will had always looked out for his brother, ever since Milo came to camp. He had no clue how or why he changed so quickly. But throwing him in Tartarus? Even for Percy and Jason, that was drastic. Will would have thought Percy would have been more sympathetic before throwing Milo down there, since he had survived it himself.
The whole camp was affected when Percy and Annabeth survived Tartarus. For weeks, Will had to keep both of them in the infirmary due to night-terrors and this strange sickness that Annabeth seemed to come down with. At first, Will had assumed that her ankle had gotten infected and that was the root cause, but he was soon proven to be wrong. Luckily they hadn't lost the golden fleece in the second war. Annabeth and Percy got better, but Will knew that they hadn't gotten a full night's sleep since before the war.
Nico walked into the room, pulling Will out of his thoughts. "Hey, Death Boy" he greeted, smiling.
"Gods, Will, maybe I should start calling YOU Death Boy. You look like death himself!" Nico exclaimed. "How do you feel? Does it hurt?"
Will shrugged, then winced. "Yeah, it hurts. But I'm okay. Austin said I might be able to get out of this bed soon!" He saw Austin poke his head around the door at the mention of his name, looking concerned.
"Everything okay, Will? Nico." Austin asked, nodding to Nico. When Will gave Austin a thumbs up, wincing more, Austin came over and checked Will's stitches quickly before murmuring something about 'almost there' and walking away.
"Really? That's awesome!" Nico enthused, but Will noticed something else in his expression.
"What is it? What happened?" The worried son of Apollo asked. When Nico didn't answer, he tensed up. "Nico, what's wrong?"
"Uhm... well...'
"Spit it out!"
"Miloshowedupatcampandhedoesn'tseemtorememberbeingmean!" Nico's words came out in a rush, and they were very hard to comprehend.
"Er, what?" Will asked.
"Milo. He showed up at camp and claims to not remember a thing about the last week or so." the Hades spawn explained, seeming relieved to have gotten it off his chest.
"What?!"
"Please don't make me say it again, Will..."
"Alright. But, what do you mean he doesn't remember? Could this be linked to you losing your memories?" Will asked, confused. "Maybe he died and the gods wanted to erase his memories before sending him back, like they did with you?" Will covered his mouth, having said too much. He then screamed in pain, causing Nico to flinch and Austin to run in, a sedative in hand.
"Will! Calm down! Don't freak out on us again, please!" Nico begged.
"What do you mean, freak out again?! Austin, the stitches-" Will passed out before being able to finish his sentence.
Nico POV
Nico looked in horror at the growing blood-red patch on Will's orange camp shirt. "Austin, do something!" He watched as Austin hooked Will up to an IV full of nectar and started re-doing the stitches, that had broken in Will's sudden movement. The injured boy looked so peaceful, Nico decided to let Austin do his job without any distractions. He got up and walked out of the infirmary, wanting to speak to Jason. What had Will meant by 'like they did to you'?
After looking for a while, Nico remembered that Jason had planned to take Milo to the Big House. He hoped he remembered the way, this whole amnesia thing was getting a little old. Unfortunately, Nico got very lost. He had somehow managed to find his way into the forest, where he saw Percy talking to an old-ish man who reeked of mouldy bean-dip.
"How the Hades are you here, Gabe?" Nico heard Percy ask, his voice dangerously low. "And how did you get through the camp borders?"
"Yeah yeah nice seeing you too, boy. Where's your mother? I want bean dip." The man Percy called Gabe stepped forwards, towards Percy. Nico looked a little closer and almost gasped when he saw Percy shaking.
"Answer me!" Percy yelled.
"Alright, alright, boy-"
"Don't call me Boy."
This earned Percy a punch to the face, giving him a black eye that really didn't go well with Percy's sea green shirt. "I'll call you whatever you want, BOY. I came here because you were here. And you. Wrecked. My. Car."
"Percy?" A female voice called.
"M-mum?" Percy asked, voice trembling. He sounded so scared, so defeated.
Nico ran up to them to help Percy, but he passed right through. "What the..."
Percy looked up. "Nico?" he sounded bewildered. "What are you doing here?" He looked around self-consciously, and tried to stop himself shaking as he was hit again by Gabe.
"Percy!" the female voice screamed, and Percy flinched. His eyes were wild, they reminded Nico of a stormy sea.
"Percy, focus on my voice." Nico said, firmly. "This is just a dream. Your mother is safe. Your uncle is dead. You're alright." Where this information was coming from, Nico had no idea. But it seemed to ground the frantic son of Poseidon so Nico pushed his confusion to the side. "Percy? Wake up."
"Nico... you're in my dream. Did you get your memories back? Where are you?"
Nico shook his head. "You gotta wake up, Perce. I'll tell you everything when you do, I swear." Once again, Nico had no clue how he knew what to say. He hoped that this meant that when this... dream thing... ended, he would remember everything and his amnesia would be no more.
(A/N) alrighty so that's chapter 12... it was a bit longer than usual, over 1000 words. but I hope you enjoyed it! I know it's a bit confusing but all will be revealed next chapter. In the meantime, I started a new solangelo fic called "But Why?" and it would be awesome if you could check it out! This time, it's more focused on Will and Will's depression. Let me know what you think!
