It was a sunny day in Pallet Town. One that looked too good to be true in a long while. 

Pallet, was in a celebratory mood. It's pride, had come home. A long journey he had been on, and it had carried him all the way to the Pokemon League, where he had beaten, everyone that stood in his path. 

That prideful boy that returned home, bore the name Red Fire. His first ever partner, a Charmander, had evolved to a mighty strong Charizard. Becoming the pride of Red's battles, he had shown himself to be his most loyal and strong Pokemon. One that he always could rely on. 

However, as he came home, he understod too late, that like his Pokemon evolved, he too had evolved as a person. He had been on a journey, for four whole years. He had grown, he had gotten used to puberty, his voice began changing, his eyes became more intimidating, but besides everything, he remained the same Red that most people knew him as. An avid Pokemon fanboy who did what every trainer is encouraged to do. 

Then, came how he was to evolve as a person on another front. On his journey, he had become infatuated with a girl from Cerulean City, and not just any girl, it was the gymleader herself. And as it turned out, she had grown fond of him as well. 

He went out of his way to then experience, feel and explore new hormones, new feelings. Things he had never done before. And as he returned home, Misty was the first person to greet him. The two had a chat with each other, that gave him some level of confidense. 

A year later, with more experience behind him, he had gained the courage. He asked her out. 

Misty, being attatched to the boy, agreed instantly. Then giving Red his first kiss, and his first encounter with love itself. This made Red a very happy boy. As he now felt complete, everything he wanted was his. A strong team of friends, now a girlfriend, and the champion title under his belt. 

However, this day, is about to change all that. 

Red wakes up from a very nice sleep. He dreamt about his win against The Elite Four, and his victory against his rival, Blue Oak. The two had not been on talking terms since that day, nonetheless Red could always take pride in the fact that he was better than his rival. 

Rising up from his bed, he looks around his room. The wooden floor is a bit cold as he steps down on it. That doesn't bother him though. He grabs first his light blue pants, then his socks, and then his jacket. 

In a short time, he is fully dressed in the outfit he has gotten used to never change. A quick look in the mirror makes him feel ready to tackle another day. 

As he comes down, his mom is awake and watching TV, as usual. 

Red: Morning mom. 

She gets torn from the program by his sudden appearance.

Mom: oh good morning sweetie. Did you sleep well? 

Red: Slept great mom. Life is nice, it's pretty perfect i would say. 

He sits down on a chair next to the breakfast table. His mom, cheerful that he is here and healthy, rises from the sofa to make him breakfast. 

To get time to pass, Red whistles out in the air, and from a window jumps Pikachu. 

Pikachu: Pika! 

Red: Hi Pikachu, how have ya been? 

Pikachu: Pika! pi pi pika! 

Red: great to hear. You can survive anything buddy. 

Pikachu cooes in delight as Red rubs him on his head. Watching the two, his mother feels her heart warm up. Her only son, who has everything he can ask for. What isn't there to love about it? 

Mom: Here you go Red. And Pikachu, i've got something for you as well

Red smiles to her before he grabs a bite of his sandwich, Pikachu jumps from the table in exitement and begins eating Pokemon food. 

However, outside the house. There's someone walking around. Not a person, but a Pokemon who's appearance can only mean one thing. Something, is bound to happen.

Later, Red is outside. He has done, everything there is to do for a champion. He has caught every Pokemon there is in Kanto, beaten every single trainer there is. There's little more to do besides enjoy life as it is. 

Sitting on a bench, he is followed from the bushes by the creature that stared on him from earlier. It's about to happen. 

Red: Hmm. What's Misty up to now? 

Dragging up his Pokegear, he checks on what's people doing. 

There's loads of trainers who say they caught new Pokemon. Not minding them, Red scans around for his girlfriend's nametag. 

He finds it, and messages her. ''Hi loove, want to go out today?''. Sending it, he has high hopes for something to do. He has done most of what he can do as a boyfriend as well. He took her on dates, stargazing, waterpark, everything he knew of. 

Then he hears a Pokeball opening sound, which is the sound for him getting messages. It's a message from Misty. ''Sorry Redd, but i have family work today. Tomorrow, i promisee. Love ya''. 

Red sighs, this is the fourth time he has asked this week. And he has only gotten responses similar to that. She is going out with her family, there's new challengers coming around, she didn't feel well, and now this. 

Red: When is it going to end? 

He looks a bit hopeless up on the bright sky. Wanting to know why he can't spend time with her. He knows she stated the reason, but she has never been this busy before. 

Looking straight, he feels annoyed. There has not been once he doubted her loyalty to him. But today, he is going to find out if she really is doing family work, or something else. 

''I know i promised to be honest, but when things don't go like we want, i need to see it for myself'' he thinks to himself. He needs to know if she really is at the gym, and doing something related to the family, whatever that means. 

Red: Charizard, come on out. 

His Charizard, proud as it is roars loudly after being let out. 

Red: Char, I want to go to Cerulean. Need to see for myself if what she says is really true. 

Charizard nods, and sits down for him to climb aboard his back. Red is quick to do so, and together they fly up in the sky. Having the wind blow off any worry. Charizard roars a second time before it flies towards Cerulean City. 

While flying, Red feels something unpleasant. His heartbeat is going upwards, beating quicker than any other time. ''It has to be nervousness, as bad as that is'' he thinks to himself. He has felt himself being exited many times, but this is something different. 

Soon enough, Charizard lands in Cerulean City. He gets off his pokemon, and walks straight for the gym of the city. Reaching it, he finds it closed. 

Red: odd, it would be open if they were doing something related to family. 

A new feeling enters the red eyed teen. Has Misty lied to him? What is she doing? Is there someone else in the picture he has not seen? 

He turns around, looking around the city. No one there resembles his girlfriend. They're just ordinary people. 

''But Red, she might just have gone somewhere else. Then again, i don't know. Who knows what she would do?''. He feels conflicted, should or should he not look for her? 

But he feels too unsure to let it go. Besides the gym, she likes to spend time with water pokemon. Then it strikes him, she has a pool in her house. She would most likely be there if not in the gym. 

Red: Well, to her house it is. 

Looking behind the gym, there's a large house, with a pool inside of it. It's easy to see through the windows on it into the pool. ''But, why would i do that? Ain't it i who is known as the faithful one in our relationship?''. His thoughts begin conflicting, as he makes his way towards the large house. 

But by coming closer, he hears sounds. Splashes, and laughter. From two, people. His heart stops beating for a second. 

''What is this?'' he thinks as he makes his way to one of the windows, looking through it, everything falls. 

There is his girlfriend, Misty. And she is in the pool, with another guy. Not just any other guy, it is Blue, his rival. 

His heart stops, he feels shock engulf him. Blue then pushes her to a wall in the pool before he does the unthinkable. He kisses her, and she......kisses him back. 

He feels himself feeling unwell, and slowly.......he blacks out. 

This happened....Ten years ago. 

Now, nothing is similar. Everything, has changed. 

Red Fire from Pallet Town, is nowhere to be found. 

Exactly ten years ago, he disappeared from a hospital after blacking out. He left what many think was a suicide note, but was more of a goodbye to his mom. Stating, he could never come back because of what he saw. 

As of now, the only thing that is close to the one they knew as Red Fire from Pallet, is a legend. Of a legendary, silent, intimidating trainer on top of the world's most dangerous mountain. Mt Silver. 

His red eyes burn with anger, his blood is fed with sadness, his look reeks of betrayal. He knows little more now than he did. His time has been spent, battling any fool who ventures up to his domain. 

He stares out into the storm, feeling the cold winds brush along his arms. Then he whispers into the wind, letting it carry his words with it. 

''I never would have believed it. If i didn't experience it''
