Chapter 26

Bas' POV

I quickly swiped my phone to receive P'Gxxod's video call.

"Hi, sweetheart!" he said before I could even greet him. "How are things going?"

I told him that I had just come back from a promo shoot.

"Was Josh there as well?"

"No," I answered, "it was just the other four guys in our group"

Suddenly my little sister ran into my room and gave me a hug.  "We're back from the doctor!!!" she exclaimed clinging tightly to my neck.

"Plyfon, I can't breathe!" I cried trying to extricate myself from her chubby little arms.

"Who are you talking to?" she asked.

"P'Gxxod," I said, "here, say hello to him."

"Hi, P'" she said, making a little wave at the screen.

"Hello, sweetheart," P'Gxxod said to my little sister.

"Wait!" I protested, "that name is for me, not for her!"

"No!" my sister cried, "that's P's name for me!" she pouted at P'Gxxod.

"Okay," said P'Gxxod, "how about I call your big brother Sweetheart1 and you are Sweetheart2"

We were both okay with that.  Looks like P'Gxxod would make a very good ambassador of goodwill.

"Sweetheart2, can I talk with your P'Bas for a little bit?" P'Gxxod asked my little sister.

"Sure!" she said, and ran out of the room.

"Bas, before anything else, let me just say, I love you and I miss you and I'm working very hard to be able to get back together with you as quickly as possible."

"I love you too, P'Gxxod," I said with a catch in my voice.

"Barring any unexpected delays, I am looking forward to being with you two weeks from now," he said.

"Okay," I said, but two weeks was still a long time for me.  If only a week was equivalent to an hour, then I would be together with P'Gxxod in fourteen hours.

But of course things are not always easy in life, I told myself. Plus I also had my own work schedule to follow.

P'Gxxod and I talked a while longer until we heard P'Rose, his manager, calling him so we had to end our call.  We agreed that on the count of three we were going to put our lips together on our phone screens for a virtual kiss.  Cringey, I know, but we are so in love, so sue us.

And then all too soon our call was over.

I heard mom calling me from somewhere in the house so I went to find her.  She was in the kitchen and she had just finished talking to the pharmacist.  She was informed that my little sister's prescription was ready for pick up.  She asked if I could be the one to pick up the medicine for her because she wasn't feeling too well to drive.  She offered to pay for my taxi fare but I said that it was okay.

The pharmacy wasn't too far from our house so it wasn't much of an inconvenience for me to pick up my sister's prescription.

As I was stepping into the pharmacy I saw P'Josh making his way out.  He was checking the stuff inside his pharmacy bag so he did not see me.

"Hi, P'Josh!"  I called out to him.

He smiled and waved at me and then ran out like the pharmacy building was on fire.  He probably needed to be somewhere in a hurry.

Josh's POV

After my manager excused me from the modeling session I drove myself back to my apartment.  I took a couple of fever reducer pills from my medicine cabinet and lay on my bed.  I got awakened by the ringing of my phone.  It was my manager.  He asked me how I was doing.  I told him that it looked like a couple of fever pills helped me to feel better.

My manager told me that he hoped that he had not passed on to me the respiratory infection that his doctor said he had.  His doctor had prescribed him some antibiotic pills but he felt too unwell to pick them up from the pharmacy. He asked if I could pick them up for him.  I did not turn down his request because he had done a lot of big favors for me in the past.  This was just a small way for me to return his favors.

Although the pharmacy that my manager had mentioned was quite a distance from my apartment, at least it was close to my manager's house so I could easily drop off the medicines on my way back to my apartment.

It wasn't a long wait at the pharmacy pick up counter.  Soon I was on my way out after the pharmacist had bagged my manager's prescription and placed the receipt inside the bag.  Because of some incidents reported that there were some errors in giving out prescription medications, I decided to check the label in the bottle of pills while I was walking out of the pharmacy.

"Hi, P'Josh!"  I was startled to see Bas making his way into the pharmacy.

I smiled and waved to him and then made a dash for my car.  Fate can sometimes play cruel tricks on people.  The very person you are trying to avoid keeps popping up in front of you.  Should I just consider leaving Thailand and try my luck in another country?
