Gxxod's POV
The following day the director refused to let me continue filming. I was messing up too much and I definitely looked horrible in front of the camera. The make up staff could not successfully hide the dark rings around my eyes and the puffiness of my face.
My manager grabbed me by the wrist and dragged me to her trailer.
"What's your problem huh???" Her face was red with anger. "Let me guess, it has something to do with Bas. How can you risk ruining your career over that silly boy? I bet you he has already forgotten about you by this time. He has probably moved on and is right now having fun with some other guy."
She just hit the bull's eye. She was so spot on. Was she psychic?
I turned away without a word. She grabbed my wrist again and was about to say something but had to stop because suddenly I covered my face and started sobbing. Not a quiet sobbing but a loud scandalous sobbing.
"I knew it," she angrily said under her breath. "Look, I have a suggestion to get you out of your misery at least for a day. Why don't I treat you to lunch, then we can watch a movie after that, then maybe we could go around the mall and do some window shopping. How does that sound to you?"
I nodded because I didn't know what else to do.
We went to a Thai restaurant where she ordered two dishes of the same kind because she knew I didn't care whatever dish it was. She knew that I was only gonna take a few bites but at least I finished up the tall glass of iced tea.
After lunch we went to watch the movie Hotel Transylvania. It was an animated fantasy comedy that made me forget my aching heart for an hour and a half. In fact I found myself laughing once in a while. But all too soon the movie ended and I was back to reality, the reality of my broken heart.
Then we went to the newly opened mall in the heart of town. She told me she would buy me anything I choose as long as it was within her allotted budget for me.
We walked the whole stretch of the mall and even went up the escalator to the second floor. Why was I being a martyr for Bas? The reason that it took me so long to choose an item was because I was actually looking for a beanie that Bas would look good in.
I shook my head. Someone ought to have a monument constructed in my honor for being the greatest martyr in the name of love.
My psychic manager slapped my hand when she saw me reaching for a midnight blue beanie with a white marlin fish design in the front.
"You're not getting that for Bas," she declared. "Get something for yourself. That's all I'm paying for. How about we look for a new pair of sunglasses for you?"
"To hide those dark rings around your eyes," she added for good measure. I sighed and agreed. Anyway, if I had bought that beanie for Bas it would only torture me each time I looked at it.
