Chapter 6-Magic
Sans' teacher had been worried. I was proud. He was beginning to show his first signs of magic, and it looked like he'd be taking after me. His right eye would glow a bright blue, just like it did during his nightmares, and he'd accidentally send something flying across the room.
However, a young monster needs to learn to control their magic, or someone could get hurt. I tried to remember what my parents had done to help me, but not much came to mind. It was a long time ago, and I automatically knew what to do with my magic now. But a secluded area was definitely needed.
I let King Asgore take Papyrus for the evening. He and his wife seemed more than willing to take the small baby off my hands, and so I allowed them to do so. Sans seemed a bit reluctant to leave Papyrus with them, but he did so when he saw the queen smile. He claimed that she'd also told his a funny joke, so she couldn't be to bad.
I honestly worry about that boy's social skills.
None the less, I took him to a small town outside if the calitol. We found a meadow, and I found some small rocks to use. Out magic takes hold of a Soul, and allows us to alter it's gravitational pull. It's very useful for attacks, which is the main use for our magic. It can grab other things however, making it useful for house hold chores, and easy to practice without anyone having to put their Soul on the line.
"Alright Sans, I want you to think about looking inside yourself. Think about everything you're made up of." He nodded, and closed his eyes to concentrate. "Now,think about the parts of your Soul that are magic. Think about your energy, and think about your love. Not your Level of Violence, but what you have for your brother, your sister, you mom, and me. Think about all of your friends, think about everything you care about." His eye began to glow under the socket, although it was very faint. "Now imagine all of that's in danger. Imagine someone is trying to take it all away from you. You need to protect it, don't you?" He nodded and opened his eyes. His right eye was glowing blue, and his hands were surrounded by small blue flames. "So do it! Protect what you love!"
He not only managed to pick up the rock with his magic, but he managed to summon a weak bone attack, and lift himself off the ground. His magic truly was powerful, especially if he could do all that whole still young.
But he still proved he had no idea what he was doing.
As soon as the attacks disappeared, he fell to the ground. Not slowly like I would if I were to lift my own Soul, but quickly, as normal gravity took over. I reached out, but my magic couldn't reach him in time. He hit the ground.
And I heard the awful cracking noise that sometimes means death for a skeleton.
