Part 16:
Manik and Nandini entered her office room to discuss the idea that Nandini got for Dadi's bday but before she could say anything Manik said,

Manik: I must say... U hv impressed me today!! Now i can say that u hv actually learnt something good from me.. The way u talked to that manager i could hear him stammering.

Nandini: Not at all sir... What i do is to give stern commands and what u do is to shout at ppl.

Manik: Whatever it is nandini!! Atleast this made me know how much proud u feel to be working for Fab5.

Nandini smiled at him and then said slowly,

Nandini: Not only Fab5, i feel the same while working for the Malhotra Industries and even for my ever so distracting boss.

Manik: Distracting!! Woah...

Nandini: If u hv forgotten ur friends are waiting outside and we hv to discuss ur gift.

Manik: Hmn... Ok so Ms. To The Point Moorthy... Whats ur plan??

Nandini: Umn... I m not totally sure about it but for what i know Dadi would love it. How about a song by Fab5 to her???

Manik: Huh!!! U mean u want us to perform tmrw.??

Nandini: Ok so by ur reaction, I take that u hvn't ever noticed... But Dadi has never ever seen u all perform live. Not even once!! She always wished to be there when u r up on the stage but she knew u don't like merging ur office, music or personal life ever, so she didn't say anything.

Manik: Oh yes... Dadi has actually never seen me perform live.

Nandini: So thats why i just thought... I mean it might even make the party all the more fun along with her happiness, which is obviously the top most thing that we want.

Manik heard her and smiled seeing her care for Dadi.

Manik: Ohk then... Lets do this also ur way!! I'll go and inform Fab5...

Nandini smiled at him and nodded.
Manik: U r coming too right??

Nandini: Umn.. No.!! U carry on, i hv some work.

Manik: WORK!! I really hv to do something about this all time work of urs...

Nandini laughed at him and then turned to the other side to pick up her dairy. Manik smiled again mesmerized by the site of her laughing so freely in front of him. He was lost in her beauty and simplicity. He didn't know for how long he kept on standing there, when Nandini asked,

Nandini: Sir... U need anything!!

Manik: ohh no...

He turned around and was about to move out when she called him again,
Nandini: BTW sir.... how many photographs do u hv with dadi in total? I mean the ones from ur childhood as well.

Manik: With Dadi.... I guess i hv quite a many... But why??

Nandini: Oh thats for ur other gift...

Manik: Other gift??? Is there anything else also??

Nandini: Yeah but for now u need to ignore that and concentrate on the first one. Coz I'm hamdling the second.

Manik: Nandini.. don't u think that atleast I shoud know what I m giving Dadi..

Nandini: No u don't...

Manik moved closer to her and turned her wheel chair facing him. He placed both his hands on the hand rests and bent down saying,

Manik: But i wanna know... So speak up!!

Nandini: Sorry Mr. Malhotra but I don't think that its necessary for u to know it right now...

Manik: Ohh really...
Manik whispered bending even more closer to her.

Nandini shivered listening him as his eyes stared deep into hers.
Nandini: Yes!!

Manik moved one of his hands to her face and caressed her cheek, still looking at her eyes. His thumb storked her lower lip gently giving her vibrations all over her body. As her eyes closed automatically.

Manik: Why Nandini??
Manik whispered again with some unknown feelings pouring down by his voice. Nandini opened up her eyes again and saw him looking at her still with his face just inches away from hers.

Nandini: Bcoz...
She managed to speak up but her fragile voice couldn't be heard by she herself, forget Manik listening it. She tried again this time with more power. She picked up her hands and placed both of them on Manik's chest and pushed him back.

Nandini: Bcoz u r a fool!!
She said with a giggle while Manik got back from his trance and immediately smiled seeing her giggle.

Nandini: Now let me work!!
Manik turned around and left her office immediately. Nandini finished up her remaining work as she had to work on the gift 2 after that. Also she knew she wouldn't get time to work the next day. She called all the ppl once again to give them the timings for all the required arrangements the next day. The party was in the afternoon in the backyard of the Malhotra Mansion as they knew Dadi never went there and nor did her rooms window showed the backyard. Everything was as planed and finally Nandini's work was over. She left her cabin and moved out to see the living space empty. She moved towards the kitchen but found simi mid way.

Simi: Ma'am u need anything??
Nandini: Yes... Call the staff!! I need to instruct them for the party and plz a glass of water for me simi...

Simi smiled at her and nodded. 5mins later, nandini was on a side of the living room with 6-7 staff members around. Soon two of the watchmen joined them and Nandini started,
Nandini: One guard should be on the front gate, send every guests to the backside and ask them to enter from there. Rest of the guards be at the back gate itself.
All the arrangements would be done by 11, but make sure to call me for a check before any of the workers go off. The guests will start coming by 12 so everyone should be attended well.

She continued with the other minor details for about 10 mins, meanwhile Fab5 walked down to leave after practise. They saw her busy and just shouted behind her back.
Mukti: Bye Nandini...

Nandini turned towards them and said 'Bye!!'

Aliya: see u tmrw!!
Dhruv: Take care...

Nandini: Sure... And thank u!!

Just then cabir added his words with a wink and a flying kiss,
Cabir: Bye Sweet heart...

Nandini giggled at it and said,
Nandini: Good bye sir...

Mukti noticed a what_d_hell look on Manik's face and winked at Cabir as all of them left the house.

Nandini turned back towards the staff and said,
Nandini: U may all go... But make sure one thing while working, Dadi shouldn't get any idea about all of this.

All of them nodded and Nandini instructed simi to serve the dinner before she turned to find Manik waiting for her.
Nandini: Sir... U need anything??

Manik: So everything is prepared??

Nandini: Yes sir...

Manik: As i expected... U never disappoint Nandini.

Nandini blushed rather than smiled at it and then said,
Nandini: Sir... I'll go and call Dadi for dinner, u too freshen up!!

Manik: Sure...

With this both of them turned away from each other. The moment Manik's eyes left her face, nandini's blush darkened to the deepest shade of red. While Manik couldn't remove thale smile from his face while walking to his room.

After a mostly quite dinner, filled with secret winks, smiles and blushing along with Dadi's casual talks, and some quality time that Manik spent with Dadi after every dinner it was finally time for Dadi to go to bed.

Dadi: Ohk... Son good night!! U also go take rest, u hv been working all day.

Manik: Good night Dadi... Sleep well!!

As it was her usual timing to sleep by 9:30 or 10, so Manik knew he would be wishing her directly the next morning.

Manik moved inside the house along with Dadi, and saw Nandini sitting in the living room. She had already changed into her night dress. He smiled on seeing how cute she looked in that Mini mouse white Tshirt and pink shorts. Her long hair which are usually tied up in a pony tail were open on both sides of her face.

Dadi: Nandu!! Soyi nhi beta...

Nandini: I was waiting for u only Dadi...

Dadi moved closer to where she was sitting and said,
Dadi: U want anything beta??

Nandini: Yes... I want u to hv ur medicines!! Come on...
Nandini handed her over her meds and picked up a glass of water from her sides, Dadi smiled at her and had it.

Dadi: Tu h isiliye me ye medicines le leti hoon... Warna toh mujhe yaad hi na rahe kabhi!!

Nandini: Isiliye toh humesha yaad dilati rehti hoon me...

Dadi smiled at her and kissed her forehead after which she walked back towards her room. As soon as they heard her door close, Nandini said to Manik.

Nandini: Ohk so I want all ur family albums out... Right now!!

Manik: Now... Nandini will u tell me what u r planning to do!!

Nandini: Sir plz na... Bring them u'll get to know soon.

Manik gave her a u_r_impossible look and padded upstairs to his room.
