I need this feeling
Yachi Hitoka was a simple girl who, like many others, wanted to enjoy her life as a teenager; and she was finally able to do so because of a fateful encounter with a beautiful third year. Now here she was, Assistant manager of a boys' volleyball team, and she wouldn't change it for the world. These boys were now considered her family, they gave her the attention, love, and validation her mother was not always around to give her. Yet out of all of her new friends, one boy stood out the most. A redhead who brought a smile to her face whenever she saw him, someone who made her head fill with clouds, and her heart pound against her ribs.
Little Hinata made her feel things she couldn't comprehend. Yachi was used to feeling only a few specific emotions: anxiety, stress, happiness, sadness, embarrassment and anger. The feeling Hinata gave her wasn't as simple as her default emotions.

Yachi was in her last class, study hall to be exact, but her head was anywhere but on the work in front of her. Her mind had already wandered to the orange headed boy, the way his brown eyes squinted when he gave her his handsome smile, the way his large hands had once grabbed hers, the feeling of his soft hair tickling her face when he had leaned in to whisper something in her ear. Yachi was so focused on the boy in her head, that she was unable to see the boy in front of her.
"Yachi-chan!" Yachi snapped out of her reverie and looked up from her desk into the boy's eyes. "Ah, Yachi-chan... umm I was wondering if you were alright. You were turning red, so I got a little worried that you were getting sick." The blonde blushed a little, in front of her was a cute guy from her class, and he of all people was worried about her.
"Ah! Minamoto-kun! I'm fine haha, just lost focus a bit." She played with her mechanical pencil, then looked into Minamoto's green eyes. "I'm just glad you're doing alright." His eyes creased as he smiled, "Hey if you don't mind could I walk you to your club activity." Minamoto leaned into Yachi's face, his black hair tickling her face. A soft blush adorned his tan face, serving as the finishing touches to his already beautiful face. Yachi was surprised to say the least; yes, she and Minamoto had talked on multiple occasions since they were both in the same class, but they had never hung out outside of class. Actually, she hadn't hung out with any of the guys in her class outside of the classroom.
"Sure." Yachi's face was now burning. She wondered why he would want to walk with her, maybe he needed help with homework, maybe he just wanted to be friends, maybe he wanted to see the volleyball team in action, or maybe he wanted to see Kiyoko-senpai in action. "Really!? Thanks so much! I've always wanted to ask you but got kinda nervous." Now, Yachi was definitely surprised; why would he, of all people, be nervous around someone like her?
Yet before she could ask the question plaguing her mind, the bell rang. Minamoto sat up straight and went over to his desk to get his stuff ready before coming back towards her. "Shall we go?" A cute smile already on his face paired with anticipating eyes. Once again Yachi's face slightly burned. "Yes." The boy's smile widened, eyes creasing.
Walking through the hallway, Minamoto made small talk, to which Yachi happily responded. She was definitely still anxious around him, but he made everything easy by starting the conversation. "So Yachi-chan, you're the assistant manager for the boys' volleyball team, right?" His green eyes shone in the light as he looked up thoughtfully. "Yes, I am, though I'm not that good at it yet." The teen contemplated her answer, then looked down at her. Wow she didn't realize how much taller than her he was. "Well I think those boys are lucky to have you. You're cute, hardworking, and definitely fun and easy to be around." He patted her head affectionately. "E-eh?" Yachi's eyes widened, "I-I..." she looked down at the floor, "Thank you Minamoto-kun". Looking back up at him, she noticed that his expression was slightly embarrassed, and it made her heart flutter slightly. "N-no need to thank me, I'm just telling you how it is.", he rubbed the back of his neck.
Their conversation then slowly went back to volleyball, from her managing job, to her first impression of the boys, which he found hilarious. Suddenly they had arrived in front of the gym door.
"Thank you very much for walking me Minamoto-kun." Yachi bowed slightly.
- Hey, don't worry about it! I really enjoyed talking to you, and I hope we can do it again. Plus, it's on my way to soccer practice.
- EH! So that means that you have to pass through here, then I'll see you out there maybe while I'm managing.
- Yeah, I guess you will!
Minamoto opened the door and let Yachi through first.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The door opened to reveal a giggling and blushing mess, Yachi, along with a laughing six-foot two glass of water. This assembly of hormones definitely did not go unnoticed by the occupants of the gym. Seeing their sweet, innocent, little manager next to a member of the opposite sex, the overprotective volleyball boys glared in their direction.
Out of them all, the Karasuno guard-dogs were the ones who finally made a move.
"ORA!! Who do we have here Ryu?" Nishinoya made his way into Minamoto's face. Tanaka made an intimating face and sized up the male first year. "HAAAHHH! I think it's a little first year who's getting a little too close to our Yachi, Nishinoya-san." The two second years continued making intimidating noises and faces at said boy.
Sighing, Ennoshita made his way over to the trouble children grabbing their collars and keeping them far enough away from the slightly scared first year.
"Sorry Yachi, you know how they are around new people. They're too overprotective for their own good." Ennoshita furrowed his brows, slightly choking mentioned boys. In the background Tsukishima and Yamaguchi were heard snickering.
Yachi's hands were flailing miserably in front of her, trying to calm the still glaring second years in front of her. "Eh? Tanaka-san, Nishinoya-san! This is my friend Minamoto-kun. He offered to walk me here since it's on his way to practice." Yachi looks up at the taller boy beside her and smiled a beautiful smile, it was so pure that even the Karasuno guard-dogs were put to tears.
Daichi approached the group, clapped his hands together and began; "Alright let's get this over wi-"
"YACHI-SAN!" An excited Hinata bounded in, followed by a bored Kageyama, cutting the captain off. The excited ball of sunshine pushed past his seniors and came face to face with our anxious blonde. Yet, his attention was caught by the tall ass man beside the lovely girl. Scary. Thought Hinata.
"As I was saying..." A vein popped on Daichi's forehead, "Minamoto-kun probably has to go to practice, so let him through." Minamoto looked at the volleyball captain thankfully, bowing slightly in acknowledgement. Then turning back to the second manager, bent down to face level and rubbed her head affectionately. Smiling lovingly, said boy turned the shorter girl in front of him wobbly knees. "Bye-bye Yachi-chan, I'll see you tomorrow morning." And with that he had left.
And for some reason, Hinata had a gross feeling in his chest. He felt sick, something churned inside of him. Seeing the young manager so flustered by that string bean just didn't sit right with him.
"Geez that guy was tall! What the heck! How come all the first years are giants? Maybe I should knock 'em down a few pegs, show them that I'm a real senpai!" A frustrated Sugawara dropped his arm onto Hinata's head. "Well Yachi, he seemed real nice.", he wiggled his eyebrows, "So when were you gonna tell us about this giraffe boy?" The vice-captain teased. His remark was followed by many other teasing comments from the other members that had started to gather, even Kiyoko found some entertainment making the poor girl blush. Out of them all, Hinata was quiet. Usually he would join in on the friendly banter, sometimes even being at the center of it, but he couldn't really find any teasing left in him. Something was really wrong.
