╰┈➤ [A/N: There is a lot of religious aspects to this chapter, so this is a warning for those who are uncomfortable with it. I was raised religious but am not anymore due to personal reasons. This was uncormtable-ish for me to write so I apologize if it's shown through this chapter. I just want this warning to be here for those like me.]
╰┈➤ [Third POV]
The days seem to start becoming shorter and the nights became longer and colder. Winter was finally coming to its peek as a snowstorm just happened the other night. The cold froze bodies of water and turned the air into icicles when you breathed in too sharply. As the snow fell from the windows, people bundled up and got ready for the holidays. Schools closed due to storms and finally for winter break.
Taiju watched the snow lightly fall onto the street below. A slight glare on his face as he looked back at the paper in his hand. A calendar. The month before was filled to the brim of stuff to do, fights to fight and watch, and meetings of lower gangs who want to make alliances. However, events slowly disappeared going down December as Christmas day was right around the corner. Two days away. Christmas eve being tomorrow.
Taiju was excited for Christmas. Of course, he was. It was the lord's day and Jesus will bless him with another year of living and thriving once more. The three kings will be in spirit as he would pray at midnight on Christmas day, the holy day. However, an off feeling has been slowly residing in his chest when his own medic was starting to be distant with him.
The days got colder and so did Y/n's smile to everyone in Black Dragon. His nose seems to be always red from the cold and him bundling up in multiple layers was common to see now adays. However, ever since the last storm, something must have happened to him at home since he now barely even talks to anyone. It was odd to Taiju, since he knew only a select few know of Y/n's resident so that he would be protected from the harassment this gang may cause.
Taiju hesitantly raised his hand before pressing his finger on the window. The window was cold, freezing almost as the warmth of Taiju's hand made a mark. Slowly, Taiju's mind begins to wonder. Wandering what could have possibly happened to make Y/n's personality change so fast, wandering who could be the cause of it.
'It must be Toman.' Was Taiju's first thoughts.
But Taiju knows that Y/n was more than just a medic that a gang needs. Not everything in life is about fighting and the gang life. At least, not for Y/n. Y/n has so much potential to be something better, something greater, and yet he decided to stay a gang member, one of the lowest forms of people in Japan. Many people would think that is what Y/n wanted, to be a gang member, but Taiju can see it in his eyes; Y/n wanted to be something greater, to be something better and above everyone else. What it was, Taiju had no clue. But he could feel it.
"Boss?"
Taiju paused as he stared at the window for a moment longer before answering, "What?"
Kokonoi and Inui glanced at each other for a moment. "The gang is all here. They're gathered in the courtyard and ready for your announcement," Kokonoi claims while Inui just nods.
Taiju turned to his two most trusted members as he nods. "Will the medic be joining them or is the medic joining me?" He questions.
"He insisted on staying inside," Inui said. "He'll be going with you tomorrow as long as you pick him up. At least, that's what he claims."
"Right." Taiju made his way out of his 'office' with his lackies following him. "Get going now."
"Yes sir."
The door the Taiju's 'office' was closed shut as the lights automatically turned off. The snow seemed like little angels falling from the sky as it got no harsher than so. The window that Taiju was standing at, a small picture resides. It was nothing special, nothing beautiful, in fact it looked like something a child would draw, but that's what Taiju wanted. It was a small picture of a little butterfly, cute and almost childish.
Taiju's announcement of him being 'off' from gang duties because of Christmas day went. Y/n watched the announcement continue from a few stories up, where his medical bay resided. A simple frown on his face, seeing how there is no need to keep a front while no one was around. He couldn't help but sigh lightly as he removed himself from the window and opened a cabinet. He pulled out a roll of bandages and stared at it for a moment longer.
"Two days..." Y/n said to himself. "Just hold on for two more days, Y/n. Christmas is right there..."

Christmas eve came faster than what Y/n expected. The other day he was cleaning up the medical bay and now he stood in front of a church, the very church that Taiju brought him to. With a warm trench coat, gloves and boots, Y/n was happy that he got new clothes for the winter. He knew that he would've been freezing. He let out a small sigh as he could see his breath in the cold air.
Y/n suddenly felt a hand on his shoulder. He looked up at Taiju as the other pulled him closer to the taller body. When Taiju had come to his house to pick him up, they both said nothing, only Y/n bowing to Taiju as a thanks on picking him up. When the two walked to the church they both said nothing. It was almost like there was so many words, yet nothing at all to say to each other.
When Y/n walked into the Church for the second time, he still couldn't help but feel amazed by the new decoration. The windows were still beautiful and colorful as the first time Y/n visited, but now the columns and the walls were all decorated in beautiful reeves, plants, and lights. Ordainments for the Christmas spirit hanged in hidden areas to give it life and even a baby Jesus in the front with Mary and Josphe on either side of him. Despite the beauty of the church, no one was in it, only Y/n and Taiju.
Y/n watched as Taiju went up to the stage of the church and grabbed a book, the Bible if Y/n had to guest. He watched at Taiju read to himself a few lines. He decided that it was not his place to be and sat down in the front row just admiring the decoration.
It would take a bit of time, but Taiju would finally close the large book and turned to the large cross at the front of the church. He bowed to it before putting his hands together and praying. He closed his eyes as he wished to be alone in this faithful moment. Y/n observed Taiju as he prayed. He put his own hands together in a confused manner.
"Y/n," Taiju spoke up, making Y/n flinch lightly and quickly putting his hands in his lap. "I'm going to go to the booth over there. I need to do some more praying. Will you be okay staying here?"
"Of course," Y/n said with a nod. "Take your time. If I need you I'll get you."
Taiju nod. "Thank you, Y/n, for respecting this tradition."
"It's important to you, of course I'll respect it."
Taiju stared at Y/n for a moment longer before nodding once more. He went off on his own and into a separate room that Y/n didn't even notice was there. Y/n let out a soft sigh as he looked up at the ceiling of the church, finally noticing the small angels hanging from the ceiling. His eyes lowered and landed on the Baby Jesus in the middle of the stage, in the middle of everything.
Y/n carefully got up from his seat and stood in front of the Jesus and stared at it for a moment. He looked around for a moment before raising his hands and putting them together. Just like how Taiju did, Y/n bowed and lowered his head. He closed his eyes and, for the first time in his life, prayed.
'To whoever is up there...' Y/n thought to himself. '...please give my thanks for letting me survive and live my life this long, and hopefully more years to come. Please make sure that my mother will thrive and be healthy for many years until she's ready. Please make sure that my sister is happy.
'And please, if you can't make either of those things happen, let my friends be safe, happy, and healthy in future years. Amen.'
Bam!
The doors of the churched was slammed closed. Steps was heard entering and Y/n couldn't help but be alert. Y/n turned around quickly and then his eyes widened when he recognized a certain blue and blond color.
"Y/n!" Hakkai shouted as Takemichi was standing next to him. Both with a determined look on their faces.
"Hakkai?" Y/n questioned, his eyes wide. However, when he looked at the other male his brows slightly furrowed. "Takemichi...?
"What are you two doing here?"
