ch. 2
There was a loud ringing in my ears.
What did he mean 'in his head'?
I've never encountered a patient that was in this kind of situation.
"W-what do you mean?" I carefully set down my notepad on my desk.
"V. He's the voice inside my head. Sometimes he takes over and I can't be around anyone."
"Why not?"
"Because something bad will happen."
The hair on the back of my neck rose as I was more alarmed.
Taehyung had another soul in him.
"Can I know more about him? Can you tell me more?" My voice was strained as he quickly shook his head.
"You don't want to know him. He'll hurt you."
The intercom crackled causing me to be startled and hold a hand to my heart.
"Ms. Sung, Taehyung's appointment is over. You could send him back down now." And then the noise crackled down.
"Arasso. We'll talk about this tomorrow Taehyung." I gave him a small smile as I retreated to the back of my desk and put away his file.
He stood up silently but before he left he thanked me.
"Gomawo." He shut the door and I could hear his footsteps going further down the hall.
---
My fingertips moved in a slow circle on my temple. Nothing could ease this headache. I kept thinking about Taehyung and his problem.
How could someone have another soul?
My phone rang suddenly and I looked a the caller ID before I picked it up. It was Hyeon.
"Yeobosaeyo?" I sighed into the line before I heard Hyeon's voice.
"Jiji, let's go eat out!" Hyeon was my bestfriend you could say. Hyeon Shi. We've been childhood bestfriends and she was always by my side.
Jiji is a nickname that stuck to me ever since my childhood. Since my name is Ji Sung, my relatives came up with 'Jiji'.
It sounds really immature, I know. I bit my lip and sighed for the second time.
"Sure. I could go for some drinks too."
"I'll treat this time!" She replied back happily before hanging up.
I retreated my phone but before I could turn it off, it rang again.
"Yeobosaeyo Hyeon?" I laughed light heartedly before I was must with a familiar deep voice.
"Hyeon?" He sounded like a naive confused child.
"O-oh. Wae, Taehyung?" I answered back a bit flustered.
"I just wanted to ask you what time my next appointment is tomorrow? I lost my 'schedule'."
"Hm. It should be at 4 pm. Anything else, Tae?" My hand flew up to my mouth.
Did I just call him Tae?
I mentally facepalmed as he chuckled lightly. "Ani. Gomawo again." Before I hung up his voice crackled from the other line again.
"Wait!"
"Hm?"
"I never got your name." I could feel my cheeks rise with heat as I stuttered.
"I-it's Ji. Ji Sung."
"Ah, arasso. Goodnight Ji!" And with that he hung up.
"Aish." I smiled before getting up and picking out my outfit for tonight.
