"Miss March?" June was lost in thought as she sat at her table for class, her eyes glazed over and dazed as she stared straight ahead. She had successfully gotten the group back on good terms, it was no time to initiate phase two...getting together. Once she was aware they could all work out in a group setting, she could text Hardy and tell him she  was ready to initiate phase three. However if they couldn't all work out in the same place in the same setting, it would be another setback...and she would have to fix the bugs in their friendships before moving on. She was hoping that things were fine, she knew she was becoming more open to pretending she was happy to be there, knowing that the entire situation would be dreadful and nothing had really changed all that much. She was just a good actor and a good liar. Her and JJ had left things on decent terms, so she could see herself being civil with him, however she wouldn't be prepared for him trying to be by her side, not when she was administering the same thing to every single one of them. She was angry with all of them still, and she was faking it with all of them. She knew JJ would try harder, and possibly Kie...so she was mentally preparing herself for how draining it would be to do all of this. She was sure that—"Miss March?! Are you here with us?"

Junes head shot up as she realized her name was being called, her mouth opening but nothing but stutters falling from her lips. Mr. Calvin didn't seem to keen on waiting for her to spit out an answer, his head tilting slightly at the opportunity to embarrass a student.

"I asked you about molecular compounds.  What are they?" Junes face paled as she realized she had no idea, her mouth remaining open and everyone turning to look at her as she stumbled over words trying to figure out how to bullshit her way out of it.

"All due respect Mr. Calvin...she wasn't here when we learned about it.  Maybe you should ask someone else instead of putting her on the spot." Junes head turned to the sound of the voice, her mouth closing as Erika Harris, a girl she hadn't even realized was in this class with her too, spoke in her defense. Mr. Calvin seemed to back off on his attempt to embarrass her in front of her peers, June giving Erika a smile and mouthing thank you. She nodded back, June looking down at her textbook and letting out a tense breath from that whole situation.

When the bell rang June was quick to leave the classroom, knowing she had a lot of shit to put together before she called all her friends to a meeting. June pushed through the doors of the  school, her eyes on her car keys as she made her way towards the parking lot. She could feel the build up of stress in her body as she walked, reminiscing about the relaxation of being under the influence of marijuana the night before. She got to her car and popped the trunk, throwing her school bag in it and then closing it.

"June..." The voice made her jump, June turning around as fast as she possibly could. Rafe was standing behind her, looking tense and nervous and apologetic and...sweaty. He also had an air of derangement, Junes hand flying to her chest as she tried to calm her heartbeat.

"Jesus Christ Rafe...please stop sneaking up on me. You're going to give me a heart attack." She said as she pushed out a calming breath, the boy nodding his head and taking a step towards her. She looked at him and remembered she was running low on time, continuing the conversation so she could get it over with. "What are you doing here?"

"I'm here to—to apologize. And to tell you that...I was stupid. I know I shouldn't have done that but you know how I am sometimes I get...I get in my head and you weren't answering and I just—I got scared that something happened. And I've got this feeling that you're mad at me. And I just—" He pressed his fingers to his temple for extra effect, Junes arms crossing over her chest as she looked at him with a frown. "—I know I fucked up. I'm gonna—I have to make things—"

"Rafe please...I'm not mad at you, okay? I'm not." His face fell into one of confusion and some surprise, her arms crossed over her chest as she shook her head at him.

"What?"

"Are you okay?" She asked now, Rafe feeling a break in his panicked demeanor due to the fact that she wasn't trying to push him or yell at him or ridicule him.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean are you okay? You got in a fight and I know he hit you a few times. Are you alright? That's what I mean." His stared at her in complete disbelief, his eyes twitching as he tried to comprehend what she was saying. He ran a hand over his head and then adjusted his stance, June throwing her head back and letting out a sigh before looking back at him with an irritated look. "Are you okay? That's all I'm asking. Did he hurt you?"

"No...no just busted my mouth. You're really not mad?"

"Dude, I'm not mad. I really don't care that much, I've got a lot of shit going on at the moment and y'all's stupid shit isn't my main concern. In fact...you guys fighting benefitted me. So it's a win win." She started towards her drivers side door, pressing the unlock button so she could get inside.

"How did—how did it benefit you? What even happened? I'm so—I have no idea what's going on." She let out another aggravated sigh and pulled the door open, Rafe walking tot he side of her car now to join her.

"It's too much to explain. Listen, I genuinely tripped and that's what happened to my head. I yelled at you to leave because you don't need an assault charge right now, and I told JJ about the fact that we've been seeing each other. Now I've got shit to do, I'm not mad at you, I'll see you later." Rafe was taken aback by a few things she had said, the main one being that she had told JJ about them seeing each other. She was leaned against the car now, waiting for him to accept what she had said so she could leave. She knew getting closure in every conversation with him benefitted her, because if not he would go out if his way to find her and finish it.

"And you're sure—"

"I'm not. But don't track my phone again, that's weird shit alright? Okay. I'll see you." She tried to get into the car now but he pulled her back, June letting out a groan as she pressed her back against the car again.

"What's going on here?" He said, still not seeming to believe that she was completely okay with everything. In reality about a week ago she wouldn't have been okay with it, but right now she had bigger shit to worry about that relationship woes and them fighting. So she didn't care. He was looking at her with observant eyes, trying to read her face for whatever he could find that would solidify his assumptions. Yet she really did seem fine, other than the annoyance she was presenting.

June did the last thing she could think to do to make him trust her, for the first time in a while being less than understanding about his trust and assurance issues. She leaned forwards, grabbing him by the back of the neck and kissing him, Rafe stunned by the action. She moved her mouth against his and he seemed to melt into them, the boy feeling a relaxing calm wash over his body as he finally accepted that she wasn't mad. The debilitating anxiety lessened by the second, still present but fighting to be heard as she kissed him. His hands lifted to her waist and she pushed herself closer to him. giving it about ten more seconds before pulling back.

"I've got to go. I'll see you later." She left him there and slipped away into the car, rolling her window down as her heart pounded in her chest. He was still rather stunned, his lips buzzing from being against hers and his stomach feeling like a bomb was going off in it. This confirmed a few more things for him, the fact that she wasn't brushing off what had happened between them, the fact that she was potentially moving forwards with him, and the fact that she was in fact...not mad.

"Okay. Bye." He said in a dazed voice, June giving him a nice smile as she backed out of her spot. He was staring at the space where she had been, his chest rising and falling dramatically as he recovered from the entire sequence of events that just happened.

"Don't track my phone!" She said one more time as she drove off, Rafe watching after her car now until she disappeared.
