"Uncle Steve?" James said in a small voice. Like he always did when he was about to ask Steve something he already knew the answer to.

"What is it buddy?" Steve answered, looking at the now 9 years old boy who sat at his table eating dinner.
"What happened to uncle Buck? I don't want the lies mom used to tell, I'm old enough to hear the truth." Steve put down the glass and towel he was holding and went over to the table. He sat down in front of the brunette who resembled Bucky in to the last detail.
Steve let out a shaky breath and looked over at James.

"What do you want to know kid?" Steve tugged on his beard and smiled at the child in front of him.

"What happened to him? Why did he move?"
Steve didn't like how Rebecca told her son that Bucky moved, he didn't. He died. Years ago.
He smiled sadly at James and said
"He didn't move, he died." James eyes widened and they filled with tears.
He stood up and walked over to Steve. Steve moved out his knees from under the table so James could sit in his lap.

"What was he like?" He silently asked as he sat in the lap of the older man.

"He was much like you, he was polite, smart and very brave. He did things no one else wanted or dared. He was also really nice. He always smiled and laughed."

"I asked you to describe Uncle Buck, not yourself." James laughed. Because that's exactly how he saw Steve.
In his eyes Steve was polite, he always held up the door for people and he helped the old lady in the grocery store with her bags.
He was brace since he dared to look for monsters under his bed and in the closet when it was time for bed.
He was always happy when James was around, and he was also very smart since he always helped James with his homework.

James turned around and said.
"Was he a hero?" Steve smiled and nodded, knowing that if he spoke he would start crying.
James hugged him tight and whispered.
"But you are my hero"

Steve was awakened by a child jumping on his chest.
"Time to wake up Stevie!" He squeaked. After a bit of jumping up and down and screaming. Steve caught him and began to tickle him. James laughed until his stomach hurt and he seriously begged for Steve to stop.
Both boys laid on their backs looking at the ceiling.
It was James who broke the silence.
"Can we visit uncle buck today?"

Steve turned around to look at him.
"Yeah, I think it's about time we do." He answered.

After a long pancake breakfast and a short trip to the flower shop they finally reached their final destination.
James jumped out of the car and waited for Steve by his door. Steve hadn't been here for a really long time and it brought back some painful memories. When he jumped out of the car he grabbed James' small hand and began to walk towards the gateway that led to the graveyard.
James held onto Steven with one hand and the bouquet of roses with the other.
When they reached the stone that belonged to Bucky something in Steve changed, and James took notice.

"Do you wanna talk with him alone?" He asked.
Steve shook his head no and sat down beside the kid and smiled.

After a while if just sitting there James stood up and said.
"Where should I put the flowers?" Steve looked at the vase and saw a fresh bouquet of tulips. He frowned and wondered who put them there since everyone had moved.

"You can lay them there." He said and pointed at the ground in front of the stone.
James did as told and put the flower in front of the stone.
He sat down in Steve's knee when he was done.

"J.A.M.E.S" he read out loud.
"We had the same name." He said after a while looking up at Steve.
"B.U.C.H.A.N.A.N. Buckham? Did they name him buckham? That's a quite silly name if you ask me." James said. Steve laughed a little and before correcting him.
"His name was James Buchanan Barnes."
"Oh, so his name wasn't buckham?" James laughed before turning around and apologizing to Steve.

"What happened to him?" James asked.
Steve looked down at the small innocent child in his lap. Not knowing if he should tell the whole truth or if he should sugarcoat it.
"He killed himself." Steve finally said. The tears now burning in his eyes.
It still hurt just as much as the day it happened.

James turned around and looked into Steve's bright blue eyes.

"Don't blame yourself uncle Steve." The tears now rolling down Steve's cheeks.

"I didn't know uncle buck but I know he didn't do it because he hated you. I know he loved you." James brought his small hands up to Steve cheeks and put his thumbs into the ends of his mouth, and turned his mouth into a smile.

"See, Uncle Buck want you to be happy."

(The end!)
