Mrs.Parks
A/N WOO ANOTHER UPDATE!!!! ALRIGHT I'M NOT GONNA BOTHER WITH A LONG AUTHORS NOTE, SO JUST READ ON
Percy Jackson, he was definitely one of my more.......interesting students as I'll put it. He had potential I could see it in him but he never tried, he was always asleep in class, never paying attention, playing on his phone. That is up until recently, lately his marks have been increasing significantly, in fact he scored an 82% on his last quiz. Most students never make such a drastic change so quickly so naturally I had my suspicions.
"Umm Percy would you mind staying here for a quick second," I called out as the class filed out of my last period math class. Percy said a quick word to one of his friends and walked over to my desk.
"What is it, Mrs.Parks?" He asked, his head tilted to one side. I could definitely see why all the girls in the school were constantly gossiping about this boy. At my age I didn't really see him as handsome or "hot" as the girls so professionally stated in the halls but I will admit he was good looking for his age. Messy black hair, brilliant kind eyes, nice smile, he was pretty decent.
"Well Percy," I began, pushing my thoughts to the back of my head to bring up the matter at hand. "Your marks have increased significantly lately, in fact you have one of the highest raises in an average that I've ever seen."
He just nodded still looking a little confused.
"Now I don't want to ask this but I kind of have to, are you cheating?"
"What? No!" He shook his head. "Mrs.Parks, I swear on my life I'm not cheating!"
"Well I don't want to believe it either but you haven't come in for any extra help and as far as I know you have no tutor, no one makes a shift such as yours without some help," I stated.
"But I do have help!" He defended.
"Who?" I wasn't aware of him having a tutor, I was usually in charge of assigning them.
"A friend of mine from camp, she's been helping me out." He seemed so sincere that I had to believe him.
"Alright? I believe you, is there any chance that I could meet this friend?" I asked. "I mean she's done a wonderful job with you maybe I could learn a few tricks."
"Well the staff meeting is tomorrow and Paul invited you all over and that's actually going to be one of our study times so possibly." Percy shrugged seeming uncomfortable, not wanting to make things even more awkward, I dismissed him.
"Alright Percy, you can go."
He seemed relieved as he walked out.
______TIME SKIP______
Percy was right, the staff meeting was being held at Paul's house, so the next day I drove over around 5:00 making my way up to the floor his apartment was on.
I rang the doorbell and waited, I heard a girls voice call.
"I'll get it,"
I assumed it was Sally, Paul's girlfriend. However a stunningly beautiful girl opened the door, she had long curly blonde hair and steely grey eyes that seemed very guarded, she stood tensed, yet somehow relaxed like she was ready to spring into action at any moment.
"Who are you?" She asked.
"Dianne Parks, I work with Paul," I replied, I didn't like the fact that I was actually very intimidated by this 15 year old girl.
"Dianne, perfect you're the first one," Paul stepped out in front of the girl, who eyed me carefully once more and went back inside.
"Come on, come in," Paul led me inside.
___ANOTHER TIME SKIP____
"So Sally," I began, right now most of the teachers were all milling about in the kitchen, waiting for the last two to arrive before the meeting officially began.
"Yes," she turned towards me.
"Percy has been improving greatly in my class, I'm very impressed."
"Oh yes, I noticed, his friend has been helping him," she smiled, I could tell she was proud of her son's accomplishments.
"He told me about this friend, was that whom I met earlier?" I remembered the blonde haired girl, I hadn't seen her or Percy since.
"Yes, that's Annabeth, she's incredibly smart and-" Sally cut herself off and smiled sheepishly.
"And?" I asked.
"And Percy has an enormous crush on her but you can't tell him that I told you," she rushed.
"Of course not," I smiled, maybe this Annabeth girl was the reason Percy hasn't dated yet, heaven knows there were plenty of girls who would say yes in a heartbeat. "However I am interested in possibly observing them if only for a while. I mean god knows if she make that much of a difference with one student."
"Oh, yeah, I think they're currently in the living room," Sally pointed towards an adjoining room away from the crowd. I nodded and made my way over to the doorway.
"Okay, so let's say, that you have an x value of 5, right?" Annabeth was currently writing down something on a piece of paper while Percy looked on intently.
"Okay," he said.
"Now, if the equation is 3x-4=y, what's your y value?" She asked.
"Ummm," he wrote down the steps to the equation before answering. "11,"
"Right," she smiled. She continued to talk and point things out but Percy seemed caught up staring at her, I could tell he wasn't taking in one word.
"Hello? You in there?" Annabeth waved a hand in front of Percy's face.
"What? Oh um, yeah," he started, she just rolled her eyes.
"Right, anyways, like I was saying- Percy, seriously, are you listening?" She sighed, Percy was staring at the wall once again.
"I'm sorry, but we've been doing this for like... Forever!" He complained.
"It's literally been only 15 minutes," Annabeth corrected.
"Either way I'm bored!"
Annabeth sighed in exasperation. "How about if you get all of these questions right, I'll give you a kiss,"
Percy's eyes lit up, he immediately dove for the pencil and paper. Annabeth smirked and looked up at me, giving me a quick wink before turning back to help him.
_____ANOTHER ONE_____
The meeting was just finishing, and the other teachers were slowly leaving, one by one. Before I left I decided to check in on Annabeth and Percy again. I stood back in the doorway, they seemed to be finishing too.
"There," Percy set down his pencil, and turned towards Annabeth who was reading a book.
She quickly scanned the paper.
"Good job," she nodded before putting her books into her backpack.
"Woah, woah, what are you doing?" Percy asked.
"Um going home?" She replied.
"I think you're forgetting something," Percy tapped his cheek, Annabeth chuckled and rolled her eyes.
"My mistake," she leaned down, however instead of kissing his cheek she grabbed his face and kissed him full on.
"See you later," she called as she walked past me into the kitchen. I couldn't help but laugh a little myself as Percy sat there with a small little dazed smile. I definitely had to hand it to that girl, she had him wrapped around her finger.
A/N HOW WAS THAT ONE? IT'S CURRENTLY VERY LATE OVER HERE AND I'M ATTEMPTING TONDO FRENCH AND IT'S REALLY NOT GOING OVER TOO WELL. ANYWAYS I HOPE YOU GUYS LIKED THAT ONE AND OTHERWISE BYE!!!!!
