The bed was much smaller than Jay had expected, meaning that they couldn't sleep back to back or else Kane's front would be squished against the wall and he hated that. Instead, he had to sleep with his back to the wall and at first, Jay faced him back but they were way too close that he agreed to turn around.

Now, his back was facing Kane's front and even though it was better than being face to face, he could feel Kane's breath tingling on the hairs on his neck. As if his hormones hadn't been rushing enough, Kane had groaned and reached around Jay's waist, pulling him closer against his chest. Ally was on the other bed but she was sound asleep, not wanting to have to witness their first night together.

Kane leaned his forehead as well against Jay's back and whispered, "I hope that's okay."

Jay's breath was caught in his throat and he hoped Kane couldn't hear his pounding heart. However, he forced his air to be pushed out, feeling tingles across his body from Kane's touch and slowly added, "It's fine."

After a nod, Kane quietly cooed, "I know this isn't the right moment to say this but I had never imagined our first cuddle would be like this."

Instantly, Jay felt as if his throat had shut, his cheeks rushing with blood and becoming red but thankfully, in the dark Kane couldn't see that. The only thing he was frightened about was Kane hearing his heart banging against his chest, and it was terribly loud that he spoke only because he wanted to distract Kane from that.

"I don't consider this cuddling," he replied back.

Kane chuckled quietly. "I guess it's not, considering the circumstances." He then shuffled to get comfortable and almost flinched when he felt Kane's chest rub against his back for a second. "But I do hope we someday have a calm night to ourselves that we can cuddle and watch a movie." He paused for a second before adding, "Well, only if we start seeing each other, of course."

"You still want that?"

"I've always wanted that." Kane chuckled, "I was afraid to admit that I love you for a long time but I really do Jay."

Jay's body stiffened and he shuffled slightly before his voice lowered when he said, "You chose Jasper over me."

It was the truth and Kane knew it too. And he sighed, pulling Jay closer before he cooed, "I'm sorry Jay. No amount of apologies can fix that, but I really hope that one day you can forgive me."

"How do I know you're not just saying that because Jasper's gone?"

"Because I said it when Jasper was here too," Kane whispered back, tightening his grip around Jay's waist.

Jay didn't answer right away, but Kane heard a heavy sigh. After a few minutes, he finally spoke and said, "You made me break up with Ava." Kane furrowed his brows, attempting to find that in his memories because he didn't recall asking Jay to break up with her. They had a conversation about how he didn't find it to be the best idea to date her, but Jay seemed adamant that he could keep her around. When Kane failed to respond, Jay chuckled quietly and added, "You were right; she came onto you first."

"She admitted it?"

"She did," his tone seemed to slow down as if it equipped a trail of sadness, and Kane felt his chest tighten when it did. "And as lonely as I was, I couldn't be with her knowing she had started our relationship being unfaithful and with a lie."

"That's unfortunate, Jay."

Jay shrugged his shoulders. "No, it's not. When you told me that, I realized I didn't really love her after all." He even smiled but Kane couldn't see it. "I only went back to her because I needed to know someone was there for me."

Kane squeezed him in comfort because loosening a grip slightly. "I understand that."

"And I came to you because deep down," Jay bit his bottom lip, not knowing if this was the time to say it but knowing that there would never be a better time than laying besides one another in each other's arms, "I knew you'd always be there."
