Chapter 45 - Odd Jobs
Jasper dried him with a towel, leaning his lips against his back and trailing his tongue along his spine a few times, leaving a few hickeys only because he enjoyed the way Kane winced and moaned whenever he did. He loved ruffling Kane's hair with a towel as well, seeing Kane sit still with only another towel around his waist. The best was when it was his turn, and he watched Kane's focus gaze in a frown, staring deeply at every crevice of his body to make certain every single part was dry. When he was almost done, Jasper reached for his hand suddenly, breaking his focus and pushing it further down below his waistline, "You forgot a part."
They brushed their teeth together, Jasper lending one of his extra brand new toothbrushes, and Kane was excited to stare in the mirror and see Jasper's built staring at him as they both had white paste covering their mouths. Jasper's messy hair as he examined himself in the mirror, a serious gaze scrutinizing his own features and leaning forward to study his own eyes. He breathed a quiet curse while he fixed one curl from his ginger strands, nodding in satisfaction when he was able to fix its angle.
Kane watched the whole scene unfold in admiration.
When they were both done, they both returned to his bedroom and Kane waited as Jasper searched through his clothes. During the wait, he took the time to finally embrace Jasper's bedroom. It had a strange theme—his walls were painted black but the rest of his furnitures were white or gray, a strange but delicate contrast. He had a huge walk-in closet with even a section for his shoes and an island in there, which Kane did envy. He had a desk area, and a living room area with a seventy-five inch 4K television with a stereo system. There was a L-shaped sofa, and a popcorn dispenser beside his stereo system.
It was as if it was a mini home-theatre, and that made Kane ask, "You're rich, aren't you?"
"I'm not rich, my Dad is," he said from the closet.
Kane raised an eyebrow, "What's the difference?"
"It's not my money," he finally exited the closet, closing it behind him. He threw a sweater and sweatpants in Kane's direction, "So no, I'm personally not rich, I can't choose what to do with this money."
"What does your Dad do?"
"He's an international lawyer." Jasper began shoving on his clothes, messing his hair again. "That's why he's never home. Basically had to raise myself."
"Wasn't he at your senior game?"
"Yeah, the only one he'll probably make all season. But it's fine, I know he's working hard." Kane noticed the gloom start to overshadow Jasper's features and decide to divert away from that topic.
Kane stood to his feet after his clothes were put on, "Do you have any siblings?"
"Does it look like I have siblings?" Jasper laughed, glancing around his room. "If I did, they'd be partying with me."
"I don't either. Ally's my step-sibling."
"If we're talking about step-siblings, I have a few," he admitted, sitting back onto the bed. "They live with my mother, a conversation that I don't want to dive into." Kane slowly nodded his head, his clothes on and sat beside Jasper who smiled, "What don't you tell me about yourself?"
"What do you want to know?"
Jasper squinted his eyes in thought, "What's...." then his eyes suddenly lightened when he said, "...your favourite colour?"
"It's gold."
"Oh," Jasper raised his eyebrows, "that's one I haven't heard before."
"What's yours?"
"The colour of red wine."
Kane snorted, "Vampire?"
"Shut up," Jasper laughed. "It's a nice colour, really. Not exactly because of how it looks, but because whenever I see that colour, I know I'm about to get laid." That caused Kane to burst into chuckles, and Jasper nodded his head, "Think about it—when do you drink wine, usually?"
"On a date."
Jasper winked, "Bingo."
"So you're a predator—"
"No no no no," Jasper rapidly shook his head, "I never propose to drink wine, they do. And I can get laid with or without wine, that's no problem. What I meant is," he paused for a moment, thinking of his words before he finally whispered, "it's refreshing."
"Vampire."
He bit his bottom lip seductively, "Maybe I am. Would you still fuck me?"
Instantly, Kane felt himself run out of breath, as if the only oxygen he was breathing was the small amount of fumes Jasper was allowing him to. "Y-Yeah," he gulped.
Jasper smirked, standing to his feet. "Are you hungry?" Right when he said that, Kane's stomach grumbled and Jasper chuckled, "Let's grab a bite somewhere. I didn't know you were staying or else I would've asked Chef Denz to come in."
"You guys have a chef?" Kane raised his eyebrows as he watched Jasper grab his keys and head outside from his bedroom.
Kane followed behind him, Jasper waiting for their steps to align before heading for the stairs, "Yeah, he's really good."
"You're a maniac."
"I'm surprised you don't," Jasper finally reached the main floor and waved a hand at the eleven maids that had been hired to clean the home after the party. Kane eyed them all, realizing that as maids, they were all young beautiful woman all dressed with skimpy outfits that could barely pass as a work uniform. That caused his heart to sting for a moment, but he did not say anything.
"What do you mean?" he asked while they stepped outside, Jasper locking the door behind him.
Jasper raised an eyebrow, "Your father was practically a celebrity—why aren't you guys rich?"
"Playing pool isn't as...popular as an actual sports team. He made maybe a three hundred thousand off his entire career."
That caused Jasper to turn back towards Kane, pausing on the stairs leading down to his walkway. "That's barely anything, woah..."
Kane shrugged his shoulders, following Jasper as he turned and headed towards a side gate beside the garage. Once the gate was opened, Kane walked in and inhaled a sharp breath, staring at the luxurious sports cars all parked and freshly cleaned, as if all of them were brand new and never driven.
Jasper pressed on his car keys, one car from the pack began beeping, but Kane furrowed his brows when Jasper reached his everyday old burgundy Toyota that seemed to have a bit more to go before it completely collapsed. Jasper noticed the way Kane's eyes shifted from admiration to confusion, and Jasper rolled his eyes, "I bought this car with my own money. It's a small victory for me—my Dad said I'd never be able to without his help."
That made Kane smile, "With what money?"
"Odd jobs," Jasper winked, "don't worry about it."
