The next morning, I got up to find Kalyan getting dressed for work.
"Good morning,". I greeted him, and he turns and charmingly answered me, "good morning Alina,". He picks up his jacket and walked to the door, he left, penciling a second glance at me still in bed.

Something is going on with kaylan.
All of a sudden, he is acting differently.
Do I need to know why?...

I came down from the bed eventually and walked into the bathroom to change.
A few hours later, I joined the family at the breakfast table.
They were all chatting with each other when I grabbed a seat to sit down.
"Alina, good morning dear,"   Kaylan's mom said to me, as she passed me a bowl of soup closer.
I collected the bowl, "good morning ma'am,'. I responded, wrapping my hands around it.

I peered at everyone.
There seem to be something going on today, everyone materializes to be in a happy mood.
Why?..
Kaylan saunters in our midst.
"Good morning mom and dad,". He passes his eyes away before facing grandfather, "good morning grandfather,". He held a chair out and gently sat on it.

Right next to me.
I looked at him... Kaylan turns and the second our eyes met, he smiles, taking away his attention back.

..... Grandpa suddenly rose from the chair,
he tells us he had something to say.
.....
He met kaylan and said, " happy birthday my son,".....
Instantly I fixed all the puzzle pieces together, and concluded, that the only reason why everyone is acting all festive today is that kaylan is celebrating his birthday today.
No wonder his acting is all charming...

Kaylan's mom later implied that they throw a party for her son.
"Yes, that's a good idea,".. grandfather seconded her suggestions.
He gawked at Kaylan, " son! Do you have anything to say, shouldn't we celebrate your birthday,?". Grandpa asked allowing kaylan to speak up.
Kaylan flinched for a while before answering back, "I'm okay with everything you want, " he looked at me, " I don't mind having a party tonight,",  He accepted, amassing passage to my eyes...
I felt unusual and abruptly looked away.

After some time kaylan gets a call and left.
A few minutes while he left,  Mrs. Anna gave me a task for tonight's party, "dear, can you please go and order the cake,". she writes down an address on a plain sheet of paper and passed it to me, " can you?". She raised a question.

I don't think that she can ask me twice about going to get the cake for Kaylan's party.
"Yes, do not worry, I'll go pick up the cake,". I pulled away from the chair navigating towards the front door.

A car was already waiting for me.

I came to the cake shop, it was across the street.
I stepped down from the car, crossing over. I was just about to walk inside when I noticed kaylan and Katie, seated at a coffee shop right next to me.

There was both talking, sitting at the window. It faced me directly.

Instantly, I paved away getting instead to the coffee shop.
"Ma'am, can I help you?", A waiter came out and interrupted me at the door.

I stared around and behind, the table I saw kaylan and Katie talking on, all of a sudden, was empty.
"Was anyone sitting there?" I asked the waiter, pointing in the same direction.
The waiter turned around and said," no ma'am, no one," she returned her gaze to me, " do you want that table?". She asked.....
"No, thank you,". I shook my head and left...

I'm going insane.
I did see kaylan talking with Katie, right?.....
Or is my mind playing tricks on me?

I don't know, but I've got a strange feeling that something bad is going to happen.

I rode off to get the cake.

I came home after picking up Kaylan's birthday cake,  the entire mansion was decorated with lights and flowers.

On my way to the kitchen, Mrs. Anna sauntered downstairs.
She stopped me, " Alina, hold on dear,"? She squealed.
I turned and saw her walking in my direction to meet me.
"Yes ma'am,". I said as soon as she got close.
"Is that the cake,?" She asked.
"Yes ma'am, do I  drop the cake in the kitchen,?" I inquired, she looked at me and beamed, " don't worry dear, give the cake to me,".  She unfurled her hand, I did too, and slowly placed the cake in her palm before leaving.
"Please excuse me,". I said as I walked away to my bedroom...

In the bedroom, I bearly shut the door behind me when on the bed, I saw a gift bag shimmering to my eyes.

I grabbed it up.
I unwrapped the bag and there was a dress with a card underneath it.
I picked up the card and read.
"Please wear this tonight, love, kaylan," ......

Wait! Did kaylan Just send me a dress? Something doesn't just add up
A person who has never really liked me nor accepted me as his wife, why then did he gift me a dress?..

I bought out the dress, facing a huge mirror.
It was a royal blue gown with  an opening at the back
It's sexy and my style...

Kaylan came back home before the party started, and we both met each other at the door to our bedroom.
He looks at my dress, perplexed.
"Nice! You clean up well Alina,".  He teased.

I grinned  and said, " thank you kaylan, at least you gifted me this dress, didn't you?",.... I went back a little to allow him to walk in.
"Did I?", He says, as he closes the door behind him.

What exactly does he mean by that?

"Alina?" Mrs. Anna yelled my name, Interrupting me from talking further with kaylan.
Kaylan turned around to look at me again, "mom is calling, didn't you hear her?". He says, rudely.
I rolled my eyes, "I did, don't be a jerk about it,". . I raised my gown so I could walk properly while leaving the room.
I looked behind my back, kaylan was busy getting dressed.
"Alina dear,". Mrs. Anna called again as I finally left in a hurry to meet her.

After a few hours,  the birthday party started. Mrs. Anna asked Kaylan and me to welcome the guests to the party.
"Please act like a normal couple,". She petitioned.

Kaylan looked at me and I did right back, before confronting her, " do not worry, ma'am,". I said.
"Yes! We wouldn't want anything to go wrong tonight, even though some of us, prove to be stubborn at the time,".
Kaylan spoke.

Is he indirectly calling me stubborn?..
Mrs. Anna shook her head and left to the kitchen.
She needed to get sometimes done.

After welcoming the guest, one of the items on the party list was for kaylan and me to dance.
I didn't want to but the second, grandfather grumpily kept staring at me, I changed my mind and swiftly walked to the dance floor with kaylan.

We romped.

While dancing,  kaylan wrapped me in his arms, and we kissed me In the presence of everyone there. On the cheeks of cause.

I didn't feel comfortable so I pulled away.
However, he takes my hand again, twirling me around to a point I almost felt dizzy.
"Can you please stop,"
I grabbed his shirt to balance my feet.
He grinned and forcefully pushed me away from the dance floor
Everyone thought it was part of the dance, but trust me, it wasn't.
Kaylan is such a dick.
Maybe worst.

We went in opposite directions afterward.
I went to the bar.
"Sir, tequila please," I said to the bartender.
"Yes ma'am,". He nods and just when he was about to fix my order, the light to the mansion went off.
Blackouts everywhere.

I lifted my hand from pressing against the table when suddenly a hand grabbed my mouth and forced me out of the party, without anyone knowing.

The next minute, I found myself tied In a basement, filled with so many cartons.
Where I'm I? No clue.
Something unusual made me feel like someone was standing behind me.
"Who's there?". I yelled.
No response. "Anyone?" I shouted again, yet no response.
However the second I tried to suppress the fear harboring around me, I felt a hand run around my face.
I panicked.
"Who are you?" I said.

The hand forced me to look and I did, meeting my sister staring at me.
"Hello, dear sister,"
She says.

"You?" I exclaimed, "what are you doing here Katie,?" I asked angrily.

She laughed and said.
"I came to kill you sister, say goodbye to everything, and Kaylan,".
She said, she frantically kept caressing my face.

Katie murdered her sister in cold blood.
And when kaylan got to know about it, he met Alina's dead body in the basement.
Out of fear, he ran out to inform his parents and the police.
The police came, and after searching through the CCTV footage of the mansion, during Kaylan's birthday party, for anyone suspicious, no one appeared.

Kaylan informed Alina's parents, that they were heartbroken and Mrs. Mathilda blamed kaylan for his inability to value Alina.

The guilt, made kaylan swear never to get married again, even though that was what Katie wanted, she desired to kill her sister and eliminate her, just to have kaylan to herself and end up being his wife.

The question is? Can she, get what she truly craves, after murdering her sister?
