15)
The next morning, I rose from the mat, kaylan wasn't on the bed and I reckoned he might go to the office.
I rolled the mat and hid it behind the wardrobe, when someone walked inside, I turned around and grandfather was standing at the door's entrance.
He looked serious.
"Good morning grandfather, how may I be of help ?"
I walked to him.
"Good morning dear, can I see you downstairs please",
He notified.
I bobbed as he left the room, but before going, I had to rush into the bathroom to change, Into something else, before going downstairs.
.......
At the front, I met some ladies wearing aprons and holding some heavy materials.
What's going on?... I stared at both sides.
"Like what you see?"
I heard my grandfather's voice behind me. I turned around and he walks close, "this is your second test, you've heard the name tie and dye right?". He says, starring around the running ladies outside. Yes grandfather, " I said.
"Okay, come with me,". He says.
Grandfather took me to an angry lady who wouldn't stop slamming the materials onto her table.
"Pick up some materials," grandfather says.
I grabbed a few and he turned me over, pointing at a side, empty stand with a table.
"You'll be working over there, okay!". He says, I sniff in a deep breath and he gently tapped my shoulders before leaving.
I came to my station, I grabbed a huge bowl at the side and gently fill it with water.
I wasn't the only one working as well.
Everyone had their minds set on their jobs, later on, kaylan walks in, he finds me busy, and instead of him walking away, he chose to annoy me by flirting with one of the ladies outside.
I thought about ignoring him. However, his corny little voice and sweet mouth, made me irritated.
I had to leave whatever I was doing and walked up to him.
"Hey!,". I tapped on his shoulders.
Kaylan turns and we met face to face, " you?". He takes a look behind at the materials I left unattended, before facing me again, "aren't you meant to be doing something?" He rolls his eyes, chancing to walk away.
I got mad, I picked up my hand to grab onto his back collar, but grandfather comes outside and he sees me in the act.
"Any problem, dear,". He says.
Kaylan turns around, and he noticed my hand pulled out, Immediately I took that away and said, " No grandfather, never mind,".
I went off.
A few hours later, the entire family returned, they all looked around and grandfather was the first person to come to me.
He looks at my materials and smiled.
"Nice one dear, now that everything is done, let's go outside and sell them,".
He said and Left.
I grabbed my things and left too.
"What the hell?"
Standing outside, it was crowded with people, grandfather asked me to sell a few of the materials and come back with not less than, $5000.
I know right?
That amount is outrageous and impossible to get, I don't think anyone will be able to sell such an amount of money.
"Can you do it?". He asked me.
"Yes grandfather, I can,". I replied, being hesitant about what the outcome might be.
I grabbed the clothes and hung them outside, on a hanger.
It was a yard sale and people came in to buy.
"Hello dear, how much is this beautiful material?"
A lady asked me.
She liked the one with a box pattern on it, I pulled it down and with a smile, gave her the amount.
"It's $100," I said.
"A $100, isn't it expensive?" She interrogated.
I know it is expensive but at all costs, I needed to return with my grandfather's specified amount.
"Yeah, but how much do you want to buy it?"
I asked.
"Can I get it for $50?". She announced.
I looked at her.
Fifty dollars was a little not what I needed but she wanted it.
"Okay ma'am, I'll pack it up for you,". I said, I removed the materials from the hanger and wrapped it for her.
After she left, another customer came in. And another after that.
Hours later, I walked back inside the mansion.
"Tell me, how much did you make?".
Grandfather asked me the second I stepped inside.
I came forward and placed the sales I made to him, he counted them and said, "it isn't $500, it's just $300.
I knew the amount wasn't what he wanted from me but what can I say, people don't actually like clothes handmade by people and I can't force them to buy at such an expensive rate.
