After spending a whole two hours fetching each of the items on the list, I finally came back.

I walked in with the groceries and went straight to the kitchen, I turned around not hoping to see anyone behind, I met kaylan staring at me with a glass of water in his hand.

"Nice, it seems you want to cook for the family?" He placed the glass down.
"Yeah, as you can see," I said grabbing a tray and knife.

I placed the cottage cheese I bought on a flat tray and slowly chopped them with a knife.
Kaylan kept on staring.
It got unbearable, I turned around and said.
"Is there anything you want kaylan?"
I slammed the knife hard.

"Nope, I only came to tell you, not to put much pepper on the food, okay?".
He tells and fled from the kitchen.

I'm I seriously going to listen to him,  after all, kaylan has been a pain in my life. A nasty bite that I hope to get rid of any time soon.

Two hours later, after spending time preparing the dishes asked by grandfather, I asked the maids to serve them on the  dining room table

I went calling everyone from their rooms including kaylan.
Kaylan was the first to run down, he sat on the chair and grabbed his spoon.
Kaylan was behaving all cheerfully odd.

Kalyan's dad being the head of the family, sat down  first, his wife followed next and Bella joined in.
Before grandfather did.

Bella grabbed a glass of water to drink.
While the maids served a plate full of my intercontinental dish to everyone seated at the table.

Requested by grandfather. A lot more dishes were also involved.

" I hope this food isn't poisoned?".
Kaylan made a foolish joke. Grandfather turns and reprimanded him. "What was that? don't you?"
He looks away.

Everyone tasted one of my dishes, fried rice to be precise.

Kaylan puts his spoon down all of a sudden, refusing to eat, right after taking two spoonfuls into his mouth.

"Nice one dear, it's delicious".
Said Kalyan's dad.

"Who knew my daughter-in-law can cook," said Kalyan's mom.

"Wow, after now come over to my room and collect a gift, it's delicious" grandfather confirmed as well.

Even Bella had the same thought as others but all except, kaylan.
He bearly touched his food.

Later that same day. Grandfather sends me to his bedroom. I walked in. "Good dear, come in,". He called me over with his hand flapping at me.

I slowly slammed the door and rode close,  a little box was kept at his side, he grabbed it up and passed it to me.
"Here you go?". He says.

I held it and opened the box.
It was a gold necklace, I looked at him.

"Is this for me sir?". I inquired.
"Yeah, it's for a job well done," he answered and smiled afterward

I stared at the necklace once again.

It felt too expensive to take it.
What did I do you warrant such an extravagant gift?

Grandfather noticed my attitude and ordered me not to leave without taking his gift with him.

He made sure I didn't have any chance to do that and I smiled leaving his room with it.

I went to my bedroom and kaylan was fast asleep, I didn't make any noise.
I  arranged my mat on the floor and dozed off after keeping  grandfather's necklace on top of the dressing table.
