•elena is the sort of classic "mean girl who thinks everyone loves her but they actually don't". she's not so much aware of that- she knows she can be a bitch and a bit unlikable, but she turns a blind eye to how badly people hate her. really said "oh to see without my eyes". this time we're self aware, she's just mean for the sake of meanness (watch me totally abandon this)
•she can also be kind of flaky with her friends. she's normally very committed, with activities and stuff, but she'll ditch her friends and boyfriend very quickly. her mood and how much she likes people changes about just as quick, and after she likes someone for a bit, she'll hate them just as much like two weeks later, like she does with bubblegum fantasies right now. honestly, she can pull a 180 so quickly it's not funny.
•elena is extremely self sufficient, has an "every man for themself" sort of mentality because the only person she can really trust is herself. she's also very confident, and that's not an act, because she thinks that she's better than pretty much everyone except for her closest friends.  she likes to act all helpless, so if she has to fight someone, it's a surprise when she can beat them tf up. she's also kind of a control freak.

•elena's parents aren't really in love, so they live in serrated houses with their own families, and she bounces back and forth every week. it's why she depends on herself so much- not that her parents being separated actually bothers her, she gets two birthdays and they're both hella rich, so- it just is how it is. she doesn't really care about them or any of her step siblings, they're all way older or younger. nonexistent pretty much.
•she was always pretty popular, always the cool girl and everything of the sort. she started dating her boyfriend a couple years ago, and she really does like him, even if she doesn't show it. he's one of the few people she's actually not super mean to. their relationship is pretty okay, at least in her opinion.
•elena let bubblegum fantasies onto the cheer squad, and now, she's really regretting it because she's taking the spotlight. elena worked hard to become cheer captain- busted her ass for years working on skills and tumbling, and she's a bit worried that bubblegum will come for her spot and try to take over, so she's been distancing herself lately. the king- who's she's been friends with since she was little- doesn't like bubblegum anyway, so it's okay.
