Me and Hiccup were friends since before I could walk, we've been inseparable ever since.

Before today... before that horrible day that separated us...

I was Jack Overland. I hated that name. The name that related me to my father, who was a homophobic. He used to torture me to change. To become straight. To be like everyone else. To be normal.

It was either his belt, the hot poker, the knife, or even the gun if he was in a good mood.

"CHANGE JACK, BE NORMAL, YOU ARROGANT QUEER!" He used to yell frequently.

It was always the same. And now I wonder if I ever did belong with them.
