(8) I've tried everything possible

Entity hid behind a tree, his head just visible. He was looking at Herobrine, who was looking around the trees, both at the ground and up in the branches. Entity shrunk behind the tree as Herobrine came close, barely daring to breathe. Herobrine moved away and Entity relaxed. Herobrine looked around for a little longer and then shouted in frustration, punching a tree. Entity knew then that his fears had been confirmed. Herobrine was in control now.

Time Skip

It was night. Entity was climbing the walls of Herobrine's castle. He could have used magic to fly up, but he didn't want to alert Herobrine to his presence. He reached Herobrine's bedroom window and he looked inside. Did he feel like a stalker? Yes, yes he did. But he just wanted to see his friend again. This was one of the only times he could get close to Herobrine and not be killed.

Herobrine was sleeping, facing the window and Entity. His face was relaxed and he looked peaceful. Then Herobrine stirred in his sleep and Entity pulled away from the window, flattening himself against the rough bricks of Herobrine's castle. When he looked back inside, Herobrine was facing away from Entity, still sleeping. Entity slipped down the castle and off into the night.

Time Skip

Herobrine was walking near a village, looking for Entity. A shadow flickered in his peripheral vision and he whipped towards it.

'What was that?'

Herobrine could have sworn that he saw two red glowing eyes but they disappeared before he could be sure. Still...

'It's nothing. Just move on.'

Time Skip

While Herobrine was in control, Herobrine had a lot of time to think. He couldn't help but remember all the good times he'd shared with Entity: building desert temples together, raiding monster bases, raiding human bases, joking around and just being friends. He remembered training Entity, teaching him how to fight and how to control Entity. He also remembered the first time he found Entity. As soon as he had seen him, he knew that Entity was powerful. And when he agreed to come back with him, Herobrine was so happy. He was sick and tired of being alone, of being feared by everyone who saw him.

But every time he thought of the good times with Entity, he also remembered the bad. He remembered the sword sliding into his chest, the pain and the blood. And the words. Entity's words. Repeating over and over again, always followed by that horrible pain in his side, as if his skin was remembering the pain. He had given Entity a chance. There was no turning back now.

Time Skip

Entity was sitting at his table, poking at his food with his fork. One year. One whole year. 12 months. 52 weeks. 365 days. 8760 hours. 525 600 minutes. And he didn't even want to know how many seconds.

The past year had been horrible for Entity; constantly hiding from Herobrine yet yearning to be closer to him at the same time. But that was impossible now. Impossible unless Herobrine got revenge. But somehow, Entity suspected that even if Herobrine killed him, that wouldn't be enough. Somehow, he knew that Herobrine would never have had enough revenge.

Time Skip

Entity had taken a walk to the nearby village. He was checking to see if Herobrine had attacked it or had hurt anyone. Entity couldn't bear the thought of more people being hurt because of his inability to keep Entity under control.

He paused a few metres from his castle. He had the feeling that he was being watched. He looked around carefully but there was no one except for him and a random chicken. Shrugging off the feeling, he finished walking to his castle, going up the stairs and closing the door behind him.

From the edge of the woods, Herobrine smiled.

"And now we have him."

Has anyone read the chapter titles in order?

According to my calculations, there are... *performs very complicated equations* 2 chapters left of the book.
