(3) I couldn't stop it

The sun rose on Herobrine's castle the next morning. Herobrine woke up as the sun shone through his bedroom window. He stretched and tossed back the sheets. Walking down the stairs, he looked around, making sure that everything was in order. It was a habit that he had fallen into. He reached the kitchen and grabbed an apple in passing. Herobrine didn't normally eat; he didn't need to eat as much as a normal human.

"Hey Herobrine. I found something. Could you come here?" Entity's voice echoed in Herobrine's head.

"Sure. What is it?" Herobrine asked as he walked out of his castle, still eating his apple.

"I"m not sure what it is."

"Where abouts are you?" Herobrine threw his apple core on the ground somewhere behind him.

"South East. X: 467, Z: -23."

"I'll be there in 20 minutes. I'm not bothered to teleport."

"Okay."

At X: 467, Z: -23, Entity grinned. He was standing in a little clearing in the middle of the forest. There was nothing special around him. Entity started to create an object using magic.

'He'll know that you created it,' Entity said.

'Only if I give him enough time. And time is the one thing he won't have.'

'What are you planning on doing?'

Entity chuckled. 'All in good time my 'friend'. All in good time.'

He finished creating the magic item: A strange, irregular shaped object with a glowing centre. Entity created a small crater in the ground and placed the object in it. He then knelt down next to it, pretending to examine the object.

"Entity!" Herobrine called.

"Over here! Come look at this!" Entity called back. He smiled inwardly. It was lucky that his voice was the same as Entity's, otherwise this plan wouldn't have worked at all.

Herobrine emerged from the forest and walked over towards Entity. He saw the object in the ground as he walked over. "That's it?"

"Yep. Do you know what it is?"

Herobrine knelt down next to Entity. "No idea. I've never seen anything like it." He reached out to touch the object.

"Uh, that might not be a good idea," Entity said hurriedly. "If we don't know what it is, who knows what it can do."

"Good point."

Entity stood up. Herobrine glanced up at him. "Where are you going?"

Entity pointed into the forest. "I thought I saw one over there. I'm probably wrong but hey, might as well check right?"

Herobrine nodded. "Okay. I'll stay with this one."

Entity turned and walked away. Herobrine stayed next to the object. He couldn't figure out what it was. Something about it was vaguely familiar, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. A sudden pain erupted in his chest as something went through it and his head jerked up. He was too shocked to scream.

The thing was taken out of Herobrine's chest and he fell over. Through half-closed eyes, he saw Entity standing over him, holding a blood-stained black sword.

"Idiot. Did you really think I was ever friends with you?" Entity scoffed. He turned and walked away.

Herobrine struggled to breathe. His blood stained the ground as his eyes closed and he stopped breathing.

Entity grinned as he walked away, his black sword swinging slowly by his side.

'You.... you...'

'Killed him. Yes, I did.'

'How... how could you?' Entity's rage grew. 'How could you do that? HOW COULD YOU?'

'It was pretty easy. He didn't even put up a fight.'

'I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU! GO BURN IN HELL!'

Entity chuckled. 'You get very feisty when you're mad, don't you?'

Entity growled and a sharp pain erupted in Entity's head. He quickly pushed it down.

'Now now, be patient. You'll get control again soon enough.'

Darkness. Emptiness. A void. Then light and pain.

Herobrine's eyes flashed open and he sat up rapidly. Pain coursed through his chest and he groaned. He flopped back down, his head hitting the pillow. Herobrine stared at the roof of his room, his hand rubbing the pain in his chest that was slowly fading.

Entity. His friend. His best friend. Entity had killed him.

'I told you so.'

'Shut up.'

'I don't see why I should.'

'Shut. Up.'

'I told you he couldn't be trusted. I told you he would stab us in the back. And he did! Quite literally!'

'Shut up and go away.'

'If you have listened to me in the first place, this wouldn't have happened! We wouldn't be in this pain!'

"SHUT UP!" Herobrine yelled. He clutched his head in an effort to stop his evil side from talking.

All was silent for a minute or so. Herobrine sighed, his hand falling off his stomach as he continued to stare at the roof.

'So. Are you going to let him get away with it?'

'I...' Herobrine sighed. 'I don't know.'

'He was our friend. He earned your trust. He used it to kill you. And you're going to let him get away with it?'

Herobrine was silent for a second.

'What are you saying?' he asked.

'I'm saying that he should pay for what he's done.'

'You're saying that we should hurt him.'

'No, not hurt him. Kill him. Make him feel our pain. Make him go through what we went through.'

'I... I don't think...'

'He deserves it doesn't he? He betrayed us, and now it's going to bite him in the back.'

'I... I don't.... I don't think I can do that.'

'Herobrine,' his evil side reasoned. 'He was your best friend. I know that you thought of him as your brother. But he betrayed you. What he has done to you is worse than what our real brother did to us. We cannot let him get away with this. If we do, he'll just do it again and again and again.'

Herobrine sighed.

'So, what do you say?'

'Shush, I'm thinking.'

More silence filled the space that they shared in their mind.

'Okay. I'll let you take control." Herobrine felt his double getting excited. 'BUT there is one condition. You must give me back control whenever I want.'

'And in return, you must not back out of this. You must let me kill him.'

'Agreed.'

'Alright. Let me have control now, and I'll start looking.'

'Fine.'

Herobrine's vision changed and the world grew smaller as he looked through someone else's eyes. The person looked around the room and smiled.

"This is going to be fun," Herobrine said.

Now things are going to start getting really good. BUT.... I've got exams coming up so I won't be able to go on Wattpad for the next two weeks. So yeah, no updates for the next two weeks. BAI!
