Fighting Angry Pomeranians isn't Fun
Bakugou landed on the bridge with a scowl, "Deku, you bastard!! First you try to kill your own mother, and then you trick one of us into helping you kill me?! I can't believe I was friends with you!"
I tried to kill mom...?
Midoriya's mouth hung slightly open in disbelief, and he took a hestitant step back as Kirishima stepped forwards, pushing him back so that he was behind the quirked teen. "Bakubro, calm down! We aren't here too kill yo-"
"Shut up, you traitor!! And don't go using friendly nicknames with me!!" Bakugou screamed, throwing an explosion at Kirishima. Kirishima blocked it with hardened arms, and Midoriya narrowed his eyes slightly.
As surprised as he was that he had tried to kill his mom in this dimension, he knew that he needed to focus on getting them away from him, hopefully unharmed.
Midoriya wasn't sure if Bakugou knew Kirishima, but it wouldn't matter too much either way. Kirishima's quirk worked whether someone knew him or not.
It was clear that Bakugou knew him, though, or at least the Midoriya from this dimension. That wasn't too surprising, though it meant that Midoriya might have an advantage. It was likely that his fighting style was different from the version in this dimension, especially since it was based on his quirk- that he didn't have, great. He'd need to fight quirkless, then.
Kirishima was being purely defensive, blocking all the explosions that Bakugou threw at him and currently, protecting him from the explosions. It wouldn't last forever, though. Kirishima had his limits too how much his quirk could take.
Midoriya found himself reaching for the knives in his pockets, though, which felt oddly natural, even though he'd never used knives before. Why couldn't he put them back? He didn't know how to fight with knives, but his body seemed to disagree with him on the matter, as he ran out from behind Kirishima, dashing at Bakugou.
Bakugou turned to him, sending an explosion at him which he rolled under, popping up in front of Bakugou and slashing at him with the knife in his right hand. Bakugou caught his wrist, and Midoriya manuvered his arm to twist Bakugou's in an uncomfortable fashion, causing the explosive blond to let go as he slashed with the left.
It felt surreal. He wasn't doing this, it was like his body had went on autopilot or something.
Bakugou dodged the knife, and sent an explosion to his chest, knocking Midoriya back. He didn't pause before standing back up, and charging at Bakugou once again.
To Kirishima, it almost looked like a dance. A deadly, explosive dance. Midoriya slashed at Bakugou, Bakugou dodged. Bakugou threw a punch, Midoriya caught it.
Kirishima wanted to help Midoriya out more, but his arms were tired. It seemed like he didn't train his quirk very well in this dimension, which made sense considering that people with quirks were hunted down. Training his quirk would've risked drawing attention to the fact that he had a quirk, something that the Kirishima from this dimension probably didn't want.
It took a moment to realize that Kirishima hadn't seen Midoriya fight like this before. Midoriya was smart, sure, but his fighting matched the way All Might fought - brute force in hopes to overwhelm the enemy. This time, though, Midoriya fought something like Stain did. Agile, lots of dodging hits, slashing with his blades, and dirty tricks like throwing dirt in Bakugou's face.
Like some sort of vigilante.
It was weird.
Midoriya managed to hit the crook of Bakugou's neck with the butt of his knife's handle, and Bakugou collapsed to the floor. "Did... Did you just kill him?"
Midoriya turned to look at him as if he was in some sort of daze, before he blinked, snapping out of it. "Gods, I hope not.."
Midoriya crouched down besides Bakugou, and felt his neck, before sighing in relief, "He's just unconsious. We should go before he wakes up."
Kirishima nodded, "Yeah, let's go. Are we gonna go look for a place to hide in Mutsutafu?"
"Yep. Unless you want to do something else instead?" The question would normally seem rude, but Kirishima knew that Izuku was being genuine when he said it. He wanted to make sure Kirishima actually wanted to go through with the plan.
"Nope, I'm good."
The two walked in silence for awhile, Kirishima following Midoriya's lead. Eventually, Kirishima broke the silence, "I didn't know you could fight like that. You've always fought more like All Might or something."
Midoriya paused, and Kirishima wondered if he had said something wrong, "I... can't. Fight like that, I mean. Not in our world."
Midoriya turned to face him, and Kirishima could tell how nervous he was just by looking at his eyes. "I think.... I think some traces of the me from this dimension were left in this body. I dunno. It was... It was like I was running on autopilot. Anyways. We're at the edge of the forest now. Problem is, the city's too active for us to sneak in right now. We might be able to go in without getting attacked since I'm a hunter, but I'm not sure it's worth the risk. We could wait until it's night time, but that gives Bakugou a chance to track us down before then. What do you want to do?"
"I've never once heard you use Bakubro's real name..." Kirishima mumbled.
"Cus this isn't my Kacchan. I don't know him, not really."
Kirishima sighed, "I think we should go now.. I think I'd rather take chances with the hunters than with Bakugou."
Midoriya nodded, "Same here, honestly. Lets go, I've got a good place in mind.."
Once again, Kirishima followed Midoriya's lead, though this time the scenery felt much more familiar, other than the glares he got, and all of the camo-clad hunters walking around. They were only stopped once, by a pair of bulky hunters who seemed much older than Midoriya. Midoriya was probably one of the youngest hunters, now that he thought about it. He'd hope that this dimension didn't have a bunch of teenage killers running around..
"Hey there, greenie! You takin' this one to your base?" Said one of them, who had orangish hair.
The one with brown hair punched his shoulder in a way that hardly seemed playful, though the other didn't react to it any more than you would a playful tap, "Of course he's taking it to his base, when does he not?"
Midoriya's demeanor seemed far different than before. He didn't smile, Kirishima hadn't seen him smile once since they woke up there, but his expression seemed morbidly excited as he nodded, "Yep! This one here has such an amazing power, I can hardly wait to analyze it!"
Kirishima curled away, and thought to try to run, but Midoriya grabbed his wrist, and sent him an expression that said, 'Please, don't.'
Suddenly, Kirishima wondered whether he had been tricked.
No, that couldn't be right, everything from before had seemed so genuine, and if he'd been tricked then Midoriya wouldn't have told him about the Monster Hunters.
The orange haired hunter chuckled at Midoriya's enthusiasm, "Well, we don't wanna keep you waiting. C'mon, Daichi, we still need to track down that pink one."
Was... Was he talking about Ashido?!
The two walked away, and Midoriya started walking again, his morbidly excited expresion quickly turned to discomfort. Kirishima was dragged along behind him, offered no explanation of what had just happened. Maybe he really had been tricked...
They came up to a warehouse, with all it's widows blocked up by wooden boards. Midoriya's name was etched in on the door, in handwritting that matched his friend's. Shit. He was going to be analyzed and killed in Midoriya's warehouse-base.
Midoriya mumbled something to himself, before opening up the door and dragging Kirishima inside.
The ware house looked as if Midoriya lived there. In one corner there was a kitchen, a table with a lone chair. In another corner was an unmade bed. There was an area that was blocked off by some walls, probably his bathroom. Too one side, there was an entire labrotory, which looked like it was used for human experimentation.
The door closed behind them, and Midoriya sighed, "Sorry, Kirishima.. I didn't mean to scare you, just... well, I didn't want to draw anymore unwanted attention, so, y'know..."
"That was just acting, then?"
"Yeah"
"Oh thank god..." Kirishima then colaspsed against the wall, tired from, well, everything.
