I bit into the thick sandwich that I had just made. It's made on wheat bread with ham, mustard, lettuce , mayonnaise, and tomatoes. I sat in silence while thinking about what had just happened 10 minutes ago. I can still feel Gavin's hot, minty breath on my neck. On the porch, Gavin had said something about him and Lilly breaking up. Maybe she needed some comforting? I picked up my phone and dialed her number. 

"Hey Lilly.." I said softly "I heard about you and Gavin's break up maybe you can come over?"

"That would be great!" She said in the happiest voice. It was settled that she would be on her way in less than an hour. I hung up the phone and was happy that she wasn't an emotional mess.

Forty-five minutes later Lilly arrived. She greeted me with a huge hug and the biggest smile. 

"I'm so sorry about your breakup," I said.

"Don't be," she said "Cause I'm not."

"Wait, why?" I said

"I lost feelings". Lilly said carelessly

I continued to stare at her in amazement. It was crazy that she was acting like nothing had happened. 

"I'm going to the bathroom," Lilly said as she placed her phone and keys on the kitchen counter. 

A few seconds later Lilly's phone went off. I glanced at the phone to see if it was important. It indeed was not. It was Noah. Gavin's friend Noah. The text read-

'Maybe we can meet up later tonight *smirky face emoji*' 

I cringed and my mouth dropped open. So that's why Lilly doesn't really care about her break up. Because she's been screwing Noah. Lilly walked out of the bathroom and I held her phone up so she could see it. 

"What the hell, Lilly." I exclaimed

"Uh-- uhhh" She stuttered "I can explain."

"I don't wanna hear it." I said "This explains why you weren't upset about the break up. Right? Cause you have been fucking Noah on the side. Was Gavin even important to you? Or was he just another one of your side hoes?" I yelled, anger and sarcasm dripping from my voice.

"No!" She screamed "It wasn't like that at all"

 A single tear strolled down her face. I took a deep breath and calmed myself down. 

"Then what was it like Lilly?" I'm still angry but, I can't lose my friend again.

"I was planning to break up with Gavin a month ago," She stopped and sighed "But, he was going through a tough time and I wanted to be there for him. Throughout the last month that we were together I had completely lost feelings. Noah was always around and a spark lit up inside of us. We've been dating secretly. Gavin didn't know about me and Noah when we broke up and I wanna keep it that way."

"...Get out." I say dangerously calm.

"What?" She said

"I said... GET. OUT."

"No, Jonah we can work this out, I promise. I-"

"NO!" I screamed "First off you dated the biggest crush I've ever had and then you treat him like shit! What kind of person are you?"

"Jonah, please, I- you're my best friend--"

She struggled for words. We sat in silence for a few moments processing what just went down. 

"Can you just leave?" I say icily.

I shove her out the door and slam it behind her.
