Chapter Fourteen

I used Google Translate for this so I'm sorry if the French is wrong.
Alex's POV:
(Time Skip a few weeks later)
Alex sat in his desk. The class was waiting for Mrs.Washington to come back from getting something. "Hey Alex. Are you excited about Christmas? It's coming up so soon!" John asked Alex. Alex shifted his head so he was looking at John. "I don't know. Never really did the whole Christmas thing when I was little." Alex replied, shrugging. "What! Christmas is like a big holiday! How could you not celebrate Christmas?" John said, surprised. "Well I mean, my mom would bring my brother and I a present or two but we never celebrated it." Alex told him, remembering the day where he got his first stuffed animal. He was three years old at the time.

Alexander was sitting in the middle of the living room in the small house. His father was watching him and his brother was sleeping in another room. His mother came home with two things in her hands. Both of the gifts for her children. Seeing that only Alexander and her husband was there she decided to give James his present when he was there. She walked over to the living room and sat down, in front of Alexander. Alex went from playing with a pen to hugging his mother. Once he let go she held out a small stuffed animal. Alex grabbed it from out of his mother's hands and examined it, "It's a little lion. Just like you." His mother said with a smile. Lion. Lion. It didn't seem like a hard word for him so he tried it out. "L-Li... Llll... Leon!" Even though he didn't get it exactly right he still spoke his first words. "Leon, Leon! Lll... Lion!" Said the young Alexander. His parents eyes lit up with happiness. "What did you say Alex!" His mother said with excitement, "Lion!" Repeated Alex as he pointed to his stuffed animal. The next thing he knew he was being tightly hugged by his mother. He hugged her back and they soon both let go. "Lion!" Yelled Alexander. He never stopped saying that word all day.

Later that day Alex came home from school. "How come nobody told me Christmas was coming up!?" Alex practically yelled. Lafayette was already home (He takes a shortcut :3) and was walking towards the living room holding a cardboard box. Lafayette dropped the box, freaked out for a second then picked it up and sighed in relief. "Bien, ce n'était que l'ornement..." Laf mumbled in French (Translation: "Good thing that was only tinsel..."). "What the heck is tinsel?" Asked Alexander when he heard Lafayette. "It's a Christmas decoration Alex." Laf replied and continued his path towards the living room where George was. "Okay?" Alex said and went over to the kitchen. Alex didn't notice the cat that was sitting on the counter. He turned around and opened a cabinet to get a cup and Lion jumped onto his shoulder, he almost fell off so he dig his claws into Alex's skin making Alex shriek, and Lion jumped onto his head, and jumped to the top of the cabinet. Lafayette heard Alex and went into the kitchen to see if he was okay. Laf saw Alex holding his shoulder and was muttering swear words at the cat who was now batting at the cabinet door. Lafayette laughed at him and Alex muttered a swear word in French at Laf and he muttered one back. Later Alex came into the living room where Laf and George were. "If these are boxes of Christmas decorations then why aren't we decorating anything?" Alex asked, "Because mom isn't here Alex. She's still at school doing work. She'll be coming home soon." Laf replied. "Oh. God I'm such an idiot. Christmas is a family thing. Ha.." Alex started mumbling things to himself and walked to his room still doing it. George and Laf gave confused looks while Alexander was doing this.

Samuel's POV:
(Ooh yay, new POV!)
Samuel sat by the little creek in the snow. He had moved here a week ago but hasn't joined school yet. His parents decided that he could go to this park because it was closest to his new home. He just sat there throwing snow into the freezing water and watched it disappear. He laid on the snow covered ground and stared at the grey sky. He then heard voices. He got up to see who was at the park. He looked over to the entrance to see two boys. Both had dark skin and were going towards a bench. They looked to be his age. Hey! Maybe I can get the chance to get some friends! That'll be good when I come to the new school, maybe they could be in my class. He thought to himself. Samuel was a shy kid and had very few friends back in London (I had to do researching for this and it said he was born in New London in a place so yeah.. Here..). No. They're not going to be friends with you. Plus you look like you're two. Samuel smacked himself on the head. "Shut up..." He angrily mumbled to himself. It took him a few minuets to gather up the courage to talk to the boys. He silently made his way up to the bench were the two boys were sitting. "Uh, hey I'm Samuel. Samuel Seabury..." He said, "Hey! I'm Hercules!" Said one of the boys, "Bonjour! je m'appelle Lafayette. On dit que pour Halloween, je me suis habillé en baguette." Said the other. Samuel guessed he said in French. "Laf. What. The. Heck." Said the boy named Hercules. "I'm sorry! Alex dared me to say something in French to a person and tell them something weird I did!" Said the other boy who had been addressed by the name Laf. "Hello! My name is Lafayette. And I'm sorry for earlier." Said the boy who was now called Lafayette. "It's okay. I just moved here a week ago and I just wanted to meet new people so yeah." Replied Samuel as he lightly laughed. "Well you've come to the right people Samuel!" Said Lafayette enthusiastically, "We have a giant friend group. And we're all basically the LGBTQ+ community so no homophobics allowed." Said Hercules. Samuels eyes lit up, "You guys are gay!" He said, "Yes. Very, very gay." Lafayette said while nodding. "I have found the right people!" He said happily. "I have to tell everyone to come here!" Lafayette said while bringing out his phone. He texted while Samuel and Hercules talked. A few minuets later a group of seven people walking by the fence. One of them was trailing behind holding their cheek. They all got into the park and gathered around them. The one holding their cheek looked unhappy. "Hey Alex. Why are you holding your cheek?" Asked Lafayette. The kid addressed as Alex let go of his cheek to show a scratch, "Because your stupid dog used my face as a freaking launchpad Laf!" He said angrily. Lafayette laughed and later it turned into an argument. A fully French spoken one. "Bien au moins j'ai fait ton stupide ose vouloir que je fasse. J'ai dit, bonjour, je m'appelle Lafayette. On dit que pour Halloween, je me suis habillé en baguette." When Lafayette said that a little later the other boy was laughing a little, "Okay. Never mind, you win." "I wanna know what Laf said!" Said one of the girls dressed in a light yellow jacket. Lafayette rolled his eyes, "I said, Well at least I did your stupid dare you wanted me to do. I said, hello my name is Lafayette. One say for Halloween I dressed up as a baguette. That's what I told Alexander." Everyone, including Samuel laughed. "You know I only came here because I wanted to meet the new kid!" Said another girl who was wearing a sweater with a cat face on it. "Called it!" Exclaimed another girl who was wearing a pink jacket. "Okay, okay! Samuel introduce yourself to these great strangers!" Said Hercules. "Okay! Well, I'm Samuel Seabury. I'm new here and I wanted to meet new people so yeah." Said Samuel shyly. "Introducing time!" Yelled the same girl who was wearing the yellow jacket. This made Samuel jump a little. "Well I'm Angelica." Said the girl wearing a pink jacket, "I'm Eliza." Said another girl wearing a pretty light green, almost teal jacket. "And I'm Peggy!" Yelled the one with the light yellow jacket. "The Schuyler sisters!" Said the girl with the cat sweater. "Oh and I'm Sally." She added. "I'm Maria." Said another with a red winter jacket. "I'm Theodosia." Said another girl who was wearing a dark grey winter jacket. "I'm Alexander." Said the boy with the scratch on his cheek. "I know people now!" He said happily. The group kept talking for awhile but Samuel was getting called back home. "Bye guys! I guess I'll see you once I start school." Samuel said. "We'll be down on the field. Just look for a group of eight people." Said Alexander. "Wait! Why isn't John here?" Asked Sally, "Because he's sick." Alexander replied. "Then maybe you should go take care of your sick boy, lover boy." Said Lafayette with a smirk on his face. Alexander blushed, "Well somebody's got a crush!" Samuel said, joining in on the teasing. "Samuel!" Called his mother, "Okay, bye guys!" Samuel said and ran off towards his mother. "Bye Samuel!" Yelled Peggy and she waved at him.
