~Back at the Manor~

The soft sound of the rain outside padded softly to the large plane windows of the Wayne Manor, the house that held so many secrets and pained memories barely held up without the cheers that once ran through the halls of the mansion. Now the only sound that could be heard throughout these times were the soft padding of rain, nothing moved, no one spoke, not even the soft tap the rain made would be enough to cover the emptiness of the manor. Not enough, never enough.

"Alfred..." a sweet femenine voice called to the poor butler, that was staring out the large window as he waited for someone, anyone that would tell him that his family was still alive.

"Miss, did you find them?" The butler asked, his once smooth and rich voice had turned raspy and weak, as if his age had suddenly gotten the best of him.

"...No, not yet." The voice answered, guilt and sadness pouring into her answer as she stared at the butler. Lightning in the background, the once soft padding on the window became harsh rain poured onto the windows as if the heavens cried for what was lost, who was lost.

The butler sighed, still staring at the window as the thunder cracked making the glass vibrate with the sound. The horrible feeling of despair settled in the heart of the butler, the thoughts of what could have happened to his family. Not even Bruce had disappeared this long without informing him, but if something had happened to him anyone would've alerted him. However, now it wasn't the case.

"Alfred, you should rest. Bruce will be back, you and I know he will, I'll still patrol to see if I can spot him or his sons, but for now let's just rest in case they get back needing medical attention." The voice had difficulty finishing her sentence, swallowing the lump of worry stuck in her throat she stepped closer to the butler.

"Miss Kyle, I ask of you to leave the matter... I know they'll come back, however it's the worry of my family that is keeping me on end... It has almost been a week since master Bruce, master Timothy, master Jason and master Damian have disappeared to see the emergency call of master Dick. The worry is not their company, it is that the fact that they are not responding to my calls about the situation that is causing me distress, by now the League would've alerted me if something had gone wrong, but nothing has come up."

Selina took in a deep breath and slowly raised her hand to the butlers shoulder. "If nothing from the League has come up then they are probably safe somewhere in Gotham, if they're with pretty bird probably in Bludhaven. But we must see the positive side of this, if they are alright and nothing has come up in the Bat computer then nothing is wrong. Let's give it another week, again I will not stop patrolling through this time, but if I don't see them or they keep unresponsive then we will contact the League. Sound like a plan?" She asked with a hopeful smile.

Now if Selina was good at something was comfort, she had done this to Bruce's sons through a very long time now, and as embarrassing as it may sound she has done it to Bruce too, but he would never admit that.

The butler sighed once again and finally directed his eyes towards the beautiful woman, and now Selina could see how the worry lines on the butlers face were drawn together. Those lines did not deserve to appear in the face of the Wayne butler, it just didn't seem right.

After a bit of staring into nothing the butler finally answered. "You are most right miss Kyle. I shouldn't be mourning without the prove that my family isn't safe, of course I'll still worry but I will not let this occasion demean me. Now if you excuse me, I must rest and be prepared for when my masters to come back." As he said this he bowed a final time and exited the room with a small tiered smile. Everything would be better.

How wrong they were.....

~Back at the Super Secret Place(I was forced to write this by the Joker 0–0)~

Nightwing, for the first time opened his eyes. It had been a week since he'd last seen through his baby blue eyes, that were still masked fortunately.

His eyes scanned the room, they couldn't see much and honestly, there wasn't much to be seen.

It was an empty room, there was no furniture, apart from a hard and dusty bed he was lying on, it had ripped wall-paper that was dangling on the walls, beyond it you could barely make out the hints of a concrete wall though faint it was clear that there was evidence of dents on the walls. The floor was simple wood, however the tiles loose and broken through the broken pieces you could make out another hint of concrete. What was this place?

"I can see the first boy blunder has woken up..." Nightwing turned his head towards the voice to see the Joker standing by the doorway, he questioned how he never heard him come in and how long he'd been standing there. Staring at him. "Well? Aren't you going to welcome your favourite uncle J?" He asked creeply, his smile rising up to his cheekbones showing off his yellow teeth.

"What am I doing here Joker? What was the gas?" Nightwing questioned knowing he probably would not receive an answer.

"Well, pretty bird, you are obviously tied to a bed so you can't punch me. I still can't understand why you would hurt you favorite uncle J." He pouts like a child before continuing. "However the gas is a very special poison if you'd like to call it, created and important by a very special man which to you I won't reveal, but it will make you feel heavenly all over..." Joker says while his hands roam around his own body. "... didn't you like being under my control pretty bird?..." He gave Nightwing a crooked smile. "... didn't you love serving my every command?..." The Joker strolled over to the bounded bird on the bed. "... being so vulnerable, I want to take you right now~" The Joker placed a gloved hand onto the hero's chest, rubbing gently as if the eldest bird was made of glass. "But I'm afraid I can't do that just yet-" He removed his hand as the words left his mouth. "- all the villains that I've brought with me to just watch you break want you just as badly as I do, if not more~" Joker's smile reached till his ears, showing off his disgusting yellow teeth and giving an eminent dark aura.

Nightwing refused to show his fear, being as stubborn as ever he replied. "You will never get me, the other heroes will save me and will shove you into the darkest corner of Arkham.... permanently." Dick did not feel as courageous as he sounded, in fact he was almost shaking in disgust, confusion and prominent fear.

The Joker started chuckling, barely making a sound, which evolved into giggling and then cackling throwing his head back like the mad man he was, laughing until his throat went raw from the force of his own laughter. "My dear!" His laughter got increasingly louder. "Don't you understand that there are no heroes left! I TOOK THEM ALL! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" His maniacal laughter echoed through the small room, the Joker's body shaking with laughter and his terrifying yellow eyes bore into the innocent bird. "No one will save you~" The Joker taunted as he neared the door to exit the room. "NO ONE CAN SAVE YOU NOW! HAHAHAHAHAHA!" He banged the door close as he stepped outside, his laughter haunting the hallways as he walked away, leaving the poor hero to his thoughts.

'Is this really the end? Is there no one left? No, it can't be! Don't let him get to you Grayson!!! HE'S LYING!!!............

Who will save us now?'

~With the other heros~

"Father..... what are we going to do?" Robin asked Batman, his voice sounded drained from being locked up without much physical movement.

"I- I'm not sure what to do, Robin..." Batman turned to look at his blood child and the sight was a true heart ache to the father, the young child was pale, his hair greasy for not showering, he seemed the slightest bit thinner for not eating the last couple of days and if it not were for the mask he would've stared into the dull green eyes of his son, too emotionally drained for being worried for his family.

"Father....." Damian's voice quieted just the slightest bit, while calling to his father again.

"Yes, son?"

"I........ I'm hungry father..." The younger looked down at his lap in shame for asking for food at a moment like this, tied down, tired, vulnerable.

Batman looked at his son in pity, although he knew the other heroes were probably as hungry and exhausted as his son was he couldn't help but be broken by his sons statement, just as he was about to answer, he heard footsteps approaching.

"Well then, if it isn't a pleasure to see you Ra's..." Batman lowered his voice to almost a growl as the face of the leader of the League of Shadows emerged.

"Pleasure is all mine Batman..." Ra's didn't seem at all bothered as he kept approaching them, heels clicking as he stepped making his presence known to the heros.

"What do you want Al Ghul?" It was so rare to hear Superman so drained, not only did it worry the other heroes for his well being but it also terrifying that the man of steel could be drained from his energy in just a couple of days.

"Well, we cannot just allow you die just yet if we wish to break you from the inside out, so until then we shall have to feed you until you become mindless slaves.... After all this is for our entertainment~" Ra's smirks knowingly, not a hint of remorse or pity hidden in his voice, only pure malice. "Now your refreshments will arrive shortly, I truly hope you had the best hospitality." He walks away chuckling with his hands behind his back taking long strides, leaving the heros in the darkness of the room.

Curiously, they were already breaking it had only been a few days yet seeing the suffering from your closest friends and family can drive a man into insanity.

'It will only be so long to break a statue, it only takes the right hammer to do so~'
