Chapter 23: Hugs and Kisses (Third Person POV)
After rushing out the door of her house, Kawaii~Chan realized that she didn't really know the way to the Lycan's residence. Luckily though, fate has helped her in her peril as her phone buzzed.
It was a text from Zane.
"Since I know you don't know the way, here's the address. If anyone asks, just say you got it off of Aphmau. He'll understand."
Kawaii~Chan cocked her head in confusion. Why would he be okay if she said Aphmau told her? What difference would it make if she said Garroth told her or something?
Then it hit her. She knew exactly the reason why.
She fangirled over it a little. Aphmau wanted to give something to Aaron while he's in recovery! How cute! "OTP!!" she shouted in her head as she traveled to the bus stop.
She hopped in a local bus and headed to the address Zane had sent her. How fortunate! She was glad she didn't have to look like a maniac asking people for the directions.
...
Kawaii~Chan stood on the front porch of their home. She began to grow nervous as her grip on Aphmau's package tightened. The day before, Aphmau asked if she could drop it off for her. Although it didn't make much sense at first, but she later explained that Melissa and their father would be there to pack some of Aaron's requested belongings.
She hesitantly knocked on the door.
Kawaii~Chan waited at the porch staring down at her feet. The door swung open after a few seconds.
"Why hello cutie! What'cha here for?" Melissa asked in a cheerful tone. "O-Oh, umm..." Kawaii~Chan began nervously. "I-I'm here to drop off a package from Aphmau."
"She must've told you our address then. Welp, I guess that's fine. Just don't rob us or anything!" She joked as she let her inside.
She had set aside her flats, not wanting to track in any dirt or grime into the home. Truth be told, on her way here, she might have stepped in something funky.
"People littering these days, I swear sometimes! We have trash cans for a reason!" Nana complained to herself. Her purse was set aside onto the clothes rack as she followed Melissa to the living room.
Kawaii~Chan had set the package on the couch and looked around. The house was quite boujie, but not to the point where it was too much. She felt kind of embarrassed just sitting on the parchment white lush sofa.
"So~, I wanted to also come here to request of a conversation with Mr. Lycan." she said in a formal tone. "Jeez, no need to be so formal! I know my dad is intimidating, but he's actually quite laid back." Melissa reassured.
There was a pause.
"Hmm, so why do you want to talk to my dad anyways? Is it something Aphmau wanted? Or~, have you heard the news?" She asked. Nana replied with a hesitant reply that was confirming she had heard the recent news.
"You wanna ask Dad if you want to come with us? I bet that's why." Melissa shot a smirk at Nana who sat with and awkward smile. "You can try, but-"
"Kawaii- I mean I really want to support my ship! Aarmau is the greatest ship of all ships! There's literally no competition there! Like, cmon! Sorry, anyways!" She cleared her throat, feelign slightly embarrassed by her sudden outburst. "And she wants to see that ship sail on and have them be happy. You have no idea how bad I feel whenever I visit Aphmau. Her sunken eyes and those heavy dark rings around them. I know she's been having a rough time. I try and try so much, but nobody can make her as happy as Aaron does."
Her voiced hushed as she look down. She could feel Melissa's sympathetic stare burn into her body.
She deserves to know the truth about Aph.
No matter how blunt it may seem to be or come across as.
"You know what? You can go on home. I will see if I can talk my dad into letting you come with." She whispered with a wink. Her eyes lit as she asked her in disbelief "Really!?" She nodded as Kawaii~Chan hugged her tightly.
As they exchanged goodbyes and phone numbers, Kawaii~Chan headed home with a more joyful aura than she had before she left her house. By the time she got home, Zane was leaning onto the kitchen counter on his phone. Beside him were a small plate of red velvet white chocolate chip cookies.
She headed up to him and planted a small kiss on his cheek. "Hello sweetie!" she called. Zane looked up at her and fixed his posture.
"Nice to see you back home. How did it go?" he asked. Nana proceeded to tell him everything that had happened. Granted, she was still overexcited about it. But Zane still was all ears.
Zane scootched closer to her as he pulled down his scarf slightly. While she was distracted from her own excitement, he planted a kiss on her lips. This took her by surprise and found herself kissing back.
Little did they know, someone was watching them.
When they departed, Zane wore a light raspberry blush on his face while his girlfriend only giggled in response. Zane loved how she just beamed with joy all the time. It's what made her seem and be so lovable.
The moment was quickly spoiled; much to their disappointment; by an unsettled Kawaii~Chan. Her face had looked like she had just witness a murder in front of her. Zane looked in the direction of her eyes to see the one and only...
. . .
Katelyn.
Face smeared against the glass. Jaw dropped. And face full of shock and pure horror of what she had just saw.
"Crap..." she muttered as Katelyn had disappeared from her spot and began rushing to get inside. "Agreed." Zane groaned annoyed. The door swung open, probably had a dent by the force Katelyn had applied.
"You two!" She began.
"You."
"Me."
"Explanation."
"NOW."
The pair looked at each other as if silently agreeing to face the inevitable together. It was going to be quite the conversation.
