Asshole in the Closet

"Good planning is important. I've also regarded a sense of humor as one of the most important things on a big expedition. When you're in a difficult or dangerous situation, or when you're depressed about the chances of success, someone who can make you laugh eases the tension."

-Edmund Hillary-

Chapter 2:

"You're such an ass," I mutter.

Lucas and I are on our way to school. As usual, we are arguing about the music choice. "I want 103.7."

I whined and batted my eyes towards him. He glanced over and rolled his eyes.

"Darling, calm your tits. You'll be at school in like three minutes and I have a huge headache."

"Yeah those three minutes, on average, could contain a song, that I like," I kept making hand gestures like it was nothing," so music it is."

He sighed and didn't stop me from turning up the radio this time.

I blared the music, not caring if his headache got worse. He'd live.

We arrived at school with the last lyrics to Drifting by G-Eazy. He let out a breath of air when we shut the doors. "I am very happy that you finally shut up."

His expression fit his words; annoyed as hell.

We clambered through the main hallway, more me than him though, and turned into the side hallway containing the science classes.

"I have known you since I came out of my mom and I still do not understand how you manage to get through each and every day. I mean, you can barely walk down the hallway you're so clumsy."

He wraps his arm around me and parts to go into his first class. I laugh at him as he tells me to meet back up with him after first period.

I notice the bell is going to ring soon so I ran faster.

I turn one of the corners and ram right into a hard chest. I yell an ouch and end up falling on the floor same as the dude I had just crashed into.

We stand up and I see who I had knocked down.

I stood in awe at who it was. It was the guy from the movies. The very hot guy from the movies at that.

"Hey, you're the girl who I told to move last night," he stated as he fixed his hair.

I dusted myself off and rearranged my attire before smiling at his beautiful face and beginning a sentence," yes."

The principal came around the corner and he shoved me into the very convenient bathroom beside us. We both ended up in the guy's restroom.

"He can't see me." He whispered quietly I definitely felt his body heat as we leaned against the door. He was prominent and his body was flush against mine.

I pulled away from his warm body and opened the door.

The principal had turned the corner and vanished.

"Alright. Why did you shove me into a bathroom?"

My hand went straight to my hip, imagine that.

He stood against the hallway wall. "Well, you see, I don't like school, learning, or the stuck up teachers and students, like you, so I skip class to avoid you people. Or do you know what skipping is?"

His tone was snippy and sarcastic and made me want to rip the hairs from my head. I sighed and glared at him, gritting my teeth.

"And you suppose I like trash such as you?" I ask with a tone to match his harsh one from before.

He laughs at me and places his hand over his chest. "Darling, your words don't phase me. I've had years of disgusting words spat into my face. I don't need your petite ass spitting them at me, like they mean something."

My heart crushed. He can't be serious, can he? What does he mean by this?

"You're going to miss first period if you don't run along."

He smirks at me and rolls his eyes as I glare at him.

He turns and motions for me to follow over his back. "I'm not following you," I state with as much ferocity as a kitten meowing.

I then hear shoes clapping against the floor behind me and I see that the guy has already left, I couldn't see him.

I start running in the direction the guy had went and hopes of getting away from the person behind me.

Just as I am running I turn the corner and see the annoying guy.

"What are you running from?" he asks.

"Someone is behind me."

He pushes me again but this time into a janitors closet. How fun?

My breathing is rapid from the running and the close proximity isn't helping my problem. Although, having a hot guy flush against your side probably isn't going to aid in your breathing either.

"Just who were you running from there Miss. Smartypants?" He asked his question quietly, whispering softly. His soft breath whisked against my neck and his words hit my ears.

"I don't know. I heard footsteps, so I ran. I wasn't going to stand around long enough to find out who it was."

He sighed, pushed me against the door, and I fell out onto the cold hallway tiles.
"Miss. Rivers? What are you doing in the janitors closet?" The principal's feet sat right beside my face.

I sat up quickly and looked up at him.

"Nothing. Um, I thought it was the restroom."

Way to go Kerri, I love your lame ass excuse.

The asshole in the closet didn't dare come out and join us. He knew he'd get in trouble as well.

The principal looked at me sitting on the floor. Wait, why am I still on the floor?

I stand up and dust off my jeans before smiling at him. I continue to hope that he believes my awful lie until the asshole in the closet blows his own cover and practically gives everything away.

"Was that a sneeze?" he asks with furrowed eyebrows. He points at the door with curiosity which makes my stomach jump and twist in multiple impossible ways.

I shake my head no and smile at him as promising as possible, though, nothing could cover up his stupid mistake of sneezing so loudly.

He reaches for the handle of the door and sees the asshole sitting on the floor with his knees pulled to his chest in hopes of not being seen.

He opens one eye and peeks at our principal. "Well, nice to see you here, Mr. Donald."

"Yeah. Sure is," Mr. Donald replies sarcastically," it's a problem how all the other kids in the school do not see me nearly as much you do, Grey."

His name is Grey? I liked Asshole in the closet better.

"I see the picture now that I've gathered all the important details. Come along hoodlums."

Grey and I follow Mr. Donald to his office where we are sat in Brown chairs facing his desk. Mr. Donald leaves momentarily and Grey and I are left to our selves.

"You got me in here, you ass." My words are laced with venom. I wish I could explain to him how extremely fed up with him I am, but I just cannot find the word that holds as much meaning as I feel.

"No, you could've lied better or covered up for me. If he knew you weren't with me then he would of let you off with a warning, now that I'm involved you'll be punished."

He didn't even act like he cared one bit, which didn't surprise me as much as I wish it did. He didn't seem like the one to be surprised.

I hit him in the back of the head as hard as I could muster, though it seemed as if he wasn't effected the slightest bit.

He could at least act like I hurt him.

The principal entered his office again and sat across from us at the desk.

"So you guys were just sitting in a janitors closet for no reason?" His voice seemed manipulative. He was trying to trick us.

Grey replied 'no' I said 'yes'.

Mr. Donald raised his eyebrows and smiled at us.

"I hope you know Miss. Rivers, Grey here, is one to cause trouble not diminish it. You getting caught with him is not the best thing for you."

Grey shook his head and glanced at me.

"We didn't do anything wrong, Mr. Donald," Grey's voice sounded only merely innocent. I mentally rolled my eyes.

Mr. Donald paused and glared at the both of us, though not a word escaped his mouth.

The thoughts that buzzed around his head didn't dare spill from his mouth.

And Grey, well his expression was one of boredom. He looked as if he was going to fall asleep any moment.

"I don't rightfully know what happened, I have an idea, but I know Grey won't crack and you'll probably keep to yourself. I'll decide a punishment for then both of you by what I know. Go to class you two and see me at the end of them day."

With that I jumped up and Grey followed suit after I had poked him a couple of times since he had fallen asleep.

As we walked down the hallway he turned towards the double doors to go to the patio.

Most of the pothead hung out there between classes or after school, it is a place no one touches and is not even kept up correctly.

I watch him through the glass door as he goes and takes a seat against the wall.
