Hiei's POV

I walked to the nearest library because I was too lazy to find his address by hopping around tree to tree to find this crap loaded kid. He hurt Max so I was going to kick his frekin butt. Cause yah know. It's what a friend would do. Cough cough.

When I arrived at the library I saw the phone book room. If I could trace his number I could find his house. Oh wait. I looked closer at the guy at the front desk. Quietly being a non-stalker person and listening closely on the conversation.

"My name is Jessie Kiltimar" I growled on the inside. "I'm looking for the phone books. I lost my girlfriends number"

The unaware lady at the front desk walked right past me fallowed by Jessie. When the lady was done I came around the corner.

"We need to talk." I yelled at him, loud enough only he could hear me.

"Excuse me shorty. Who are you??" Jessie asked disgusted by me.

He was going to slowly regret that.

"The one that's going to kick your sorry butt." I growled.

I didn't bother to wait for him to move before I punched him so hard in the ribs I could hear the cracking of the ribs.

"There's this thing called the guy code. Maybe you heard of it. Never hurt max again or you'll pay for it." I walked out as a crowd surrounded Jessie.

I called Yusuke and waited for him to pick up.

"Hey what's up Hiei? Long time no talk." He still had no care in the world.

"I have a problem" The concern for how this conversation was going to go was overwhelming.

"I'm dropping out of school." I hung up.

How could I keep her safe when all I do is bring her into danger?

Max's POV

The paramedics wanted to keep me over night but I was fine. They wrapped my eye and I walked out to the waiting room. Kurama was sitting out there waiting. He got up and walked over to me.

"We have a problem." He said slightly concerned. "It's Hiei"

"Is he ok?!" I said so loud that people started staring.

Kurama grabbed my arm and we walked out of the hospital, we sat on the nearest park bench.

"Hiei wants to drop out of school." Kurama didn't even have to say more.

Got up from the bench and ran home. I just happened to run past Botan who was carrying a boat load of bags.

"Max?" I kept running.

I stopped right in my tracks, there Hiei was talking to my mom. Of all people why my mom.

"Hiei!!" I ran and hugged him tight, just because I ran so fast I tripped and we both went down.

And right then I saw Hiei smile and laugh.

Kurama and Botan arrive shortly after Hiei and I were sitting outside my house at like 4am.

"Yah I have two sisters and a brother" I said to Hiei.

"I have one sister" he said staring at Kurama.

"Someone's seeming better?" Kurama said laughing.

"Oh hey Kurama you and Hiei are invited along with Botan and Yusuke for dinner" I looked at my watched. "Today I guess"

"We would love to come after school right Hiei" Kurama lifted an eyebrow at Hiei.

"I'm required to go to school for your information." Hiei said. "I would like to come"

"A mean game of truth or dare must be played" Botan shouted.

Oh crap. I knew what she was going to do.
