Kurama's POV

I held my own when we fought our next battles, Hiei and Kuwabara being ruled to unfit to fight, Yusuke, Max and myself the only ones able to fight. We had won the 5 points to win, after I had implanted the seed into my arm and Max being almost taken out on the fourth round. Yusuke had taken the third before himself being also ruled to unfit to fight the next two rounds as he said he would.

We were on our way back to the hotel when I noticed the Yusuke and Keiko were missing. Yukina was busy healing Kuwabara, who claimed that everything hurt and that 'his' lady is the only one to take care of him.

"Hiei how are you feeling" I looked between Max and Hiei.

"That fake nurse had restored my powers and the arm I use to use the dragon" his voice was monotone.

"And you Max?" I smiled and looked at her.

Her clothes were still town in places and blood covered the bandage where the cut from Leo had re-opened itself.

"I will live" She smiled big and continued walking.

Hiei and I stood back as she continued on striking a conversation with Botan.

"I want to make something perfectly clear Kurama" Hiei turned to looked at me straight now. "She is my girlfriend. Do not mess with her head"

I smiled and nodded before also following along.

When we arrived at the hotel, the younger Toguro brother was sitting in the lobby.

Max's POV

The chills fell down my spine as I saw the younger of the two Toguro brothers. He arose from his chair when we came in.

"What do you want Toguro?" Yusuke said from the back of the crowd, appearing suddenly.

"To speak with Max" He never changed the tone of his voice, creeping me out even more.

"She will not go with you alone" Hiei held one hand on his sword.

"What is this about?" I tilted my head a bit, like I always do when asking a question its seems.

"I will only talk to Max" He turned to me. "If you are as smart as our sponsor says you are; you will come alone"

I looked at the team before agreeing to come along alone. Hiei, who was now furious, was dragged aide by Yusuke and the rest of team.

"What is this about?" I tried to sound tough, which in my head was working but my body was trembling.

Toguro smiled and another man walked out of the shadows of the hotel hallway.

"Sakyo" Toguro almost stepped aside for him to walk in.

"Hello Max" He smiled and held out his hand. "It is a pleasure to finally meet you, in person that is. I am a true bidder when you have come into the ring"

I faked smiled.

"What is this all about?"

"I would like you to be this fill in for team Toguro." He started. "You will earn the same pay as everyone else and earn the same reward if we are the winners"

"That would require me to leave my team" I almost sounded dumbfound like he was out of his mind.

"We know" Toguro smiled again. "but you are a smart girl Max"

"You have made a lot of people rich, and some lose their minds over what they have bet on you" Sakyo smiled, which was almost creepier than Toguro's.

"I am not going to" I turned and walked back to the hotel room.

"Shame I thought she would have been smarted than this" Sakyo and Toguro were gone when Max turned to see them.

Hiei's POV

We were all huddled in the living room of the hotel room. What could team Toguro want with Max. Not like they haven't kidnapped her before. She walked in and headed for the kitchen.

"What did they want Max" Yusuke was very straight forward.

"They wanted me to join their team..."
